I’ve been running the 11 speed 11-46 SLR2 ZTTO cassettes for a while now. Just done the Kielder Chiller 24 hour and no problems at all. Over 4 cassettes I’ve got probably 800 miles and no problems or premature wear. Chains were nearly new when cassettes were fitted.

I’ve had a couple from torchy which have been good but looking at this site there only appears to be one but it looks decent for £30.00. Service and comms have always been good.

+1 on the Galibier gloves. Silk or merino liner depending on how cold it is. I like a lot of their gear.

Bald for 25 years now. I just waz it over with 5 blade Gillette jobbie in the shower. So adept now that I can do it by feel and without using a mirror. Had to be careful when I first started with a new razor though. Only once have I wondered why it looked liked the shower scene from The Shining after I removed a nice rectangular piece from the back of my scalp. I use a buff doubled over as temp starts to drop but it’s been lovely so far this month.

I stopped drinking for a few years because I wanted to, fortunately not because of any sort of problem. I was amazed what a big deal it was to everyone else. The thing that got me the most was when people would say “but don’t you want to have a good time?” It made me realise that in our society, drinking and having a good time are seem as being completely co-dependent. It just made me want to drink even less.

+1. Sunday morning hangovers spoilt my riding and I decided I like riding more than drinking so stopped. We have been at a wedding this weekend and had those exact words said to me from a guy with his arm round me followed by ” come on you boring **** lets get f^&*ed up”. 5 minutes later he fell flat on his face. Looking from the outside I’m amazed at the need to drink to have a good time.
Massive praise to anyone winning the battle against their demons.

They have been good for me. I had a warranty issue on some Northwave winter boots. They were just out of warranty but shouldn’t have been falling to bits. Tredz took the time to send them back to Northwave and sent me a credit note. Of the UK based onlines I try to use them.

Ive just bought a kayak bung ( £2.00) from ebay to store my anchovies and tubeless tools in my steerer. I got a lifeline tubeless kit from wiggle (£3.00) cut down the handles and fitted them into an anodised capsule from go outdoors ( £2.00) Size wise its a bit bigger than a co2 cartridge.(You could store a co2 capsule in the bung instead). Fits everything including prong, hole opener?,trimming knife and spare anchovies. It fits nicely inside the bung and the bung fits up the steerer. Went out yesterday and hammered some rooty singletrack and its not moved or rattled around.

Could you wear two crossed over on your back like some kind of ninja. Some deft no handed riding and spinny wrist action will clear them out of the way. Where do you ride so I can avoid?

There was a claim on here a few years back that a human turd had been left on the soap shelf in one of the portable showers at Mountain Mayhem. In the Eastnor days it was

I saw it too and one year there was one smeared up the panelling of the cubicle.
I have so many gels and carbs when i’m 24 hour racing there is no way mine would have the consistency to stay on a soap tray!!!

Its a shame 2Pure aren’t more proactive. We are talking car money for some of these bikes, you would think they would be falling over themselves for a potential sale. I would never buy a bike that costs so much without a trial ride first. Orbea are brilliant ( I dont know who the importer is) I went thru lbs and had one for a whole weekend.
The Spur was top of my list til I saw this.

Renault Twizy. The Ultimate silly car. We went to Monaco before all the Covid problems and they were very popular. I think we are getting one as a tow behind motorhome car.

After a crash at 30mph on the trails where my helmet saved me from a wheel chair or worse I never ride without it. I don’t even comtemplate taking it off mid ride cos a sweaty helmet is as bad as wet socks to be putting back on. I do think you are overthinking it a bit though, these things happen and you are ok, if it means you leave your helmet on all the time when on your bike then thats a result. I cringe when I see youths in the woods doing gap jumps etc without helmets.

Thunder Burt or Racing Ralph rear and Rocket Ron front? I use this combo when I’m doing long similar rides on either my FS or full rigid. Might be a bit fragile though if there are sharp pointy rocks

Have you tried Ali express. I’ve just had some gear from the Ztto Official store including an axle for my Ti SS after I rounded the original, I think it was made of cheese!!!. They have a decent selection of axles. Delivery is quicker than a lot of UK/European sites.

My sis is head nurse at a vets. She/They recommend petplan lifetime ( they dont get a kickback). Its not the cheapest, we got a dog 4 months ago and its £33.00/month. Problem with annual is that it will only cover illness for that year, lifetime resets each year ( if you stay with same insurer). More expensive but an on going illness will empty your pockets pretty quickly.

If you suffer a lot try Precision Hydration. I use the salt tabs that come in a blister pack. I haven’t had a cramp since I started using them.

No mention of G Form? I have used knee and elbow pads. Nice and light and I havee crash tested them but I’m not very gnar but they suit my ability. It’s the soft foam that hardens on impact. Saved my knee and elbow at Dyfi Enduro a couple of years ago when I had a front wheel wash out and went over front and sideways.

I had a cannondale f29 bb30. That had a lip on. I ground it off with file and dremel and fitted an fsa threaded converter. Ran with shimano cranks for 3 years til I sold it to a mate.Still going strong and no creaks at all.

I’ve been running 2 oil slick 11 speed 11-46 slr2 cassettes for a while now. Very light and shift is ok. Probably about 300 miles on one and 150 on other. Both seem to be holding up, not run thru winter so can’t comment on that, I swap out for sunrace or sram gx for winter. Might not be quite as slick the big 2 but is as good as the sunrace cassettes they replaced. I ordered 2 more from Ali express the other day. The 11 speed seems to have come down in price (£60 each from Ztto official store) so I thought I would get a couple more. Gone for silver this time. Should have them by 29 June.

If the xcadey is anything like mine from above it will be pretty accurate. I was within 2 or 3 watts with my wheel off turbo on a few different zwift and trainer road workouts. Average power and nominal power were virtually same. I got a sram and raceface cinch versions. Both were boost and easy to fit, calibrate and gps unit picks them up every time.

I’ve got 2 Sigeyi crank power meters. Look same as XCadey. Both imported via their shop. Worked out at just over £300 each….”what about warranty?”you say. One of mine stopped charging after a year so I reported via sigeyi support page. I was sent another in a week and asked to post broken one back. Better and faster response than a lot of UK based companies. Both are with a few watts of my Elite Direto turbo trainer. I get the idea of pedal PM on a road bike but as pointed out above I ground my pedals pretty regularly too.

In our industry a sheet of zintec steel a mild steel with a zinc costing) £28/ sheet last year. £108 now!!. Powder coating resin shortages are meaning certain colours are being pulled to ensure continued supplies of more popular colours. Consequently prices are increasing monthly. We have increased by 5% across the board and expect to do it again at the end of the year. Scary uncertain times.

Have you ever wondered what’s in a golf ball. 40 years ago me and my mate cut the outer shell off and spent what’s seemed like hours unravelling miles of elastic band type stuff. Ended up with a small marble type centre. “What’s in here?” my mate said and proceeded to cut into with a craft knife. A jet of white paint shot out and hit him in the face, he was covered in the stuff and his silhouette was outlined on the kitchen wall. One of the funniest things I have ever seen even though he couldn’t see properly for a few days.

This thread is gold..my wife thinks I’m crackers, suddenly laughing out loud at some these.
Exactly 1 year ago today with all my staff furloughed and just me at work I decided steel toe cap boots weren’t necessary as it was warm and my feet were hurting. Moving a loading platform I promptly dropped the end of it on my big toe, I reckon about 200kg. Funnily enough Nike trainers don’t offer much in the way of protection and after nearly passing out I removed my sock and blood was leaking out from around my toe nail. Toe nail dropped off about 8 weeks later but has grown back. Still painful sometimes. I have pics but some of you might be eating.

A question for you folks with a bit more training experience. I had a good few months of winter training on the turbo and maintained my ftp which usually falls before I start ‘proper’ training ie; more work and longer outdoor rides but….work has gone mad as we come out of lockdown so I’m arriving home totally knackered, add a 5 month old Kelpie dog thatcneeds walking and lots of attention and my riding has been about 1.5 hours per week since Mid March. I have done few sweet spot sessions at my ftp and although I managed them I’m concerned I’m going to dig a fatigue hole for myself. I’m 54y.o and have noticed I have to be careful with training load to avoid this. Should I retest ( I really hate ramp tests) or just knock my ftp down a couple of %. I’m was hoping for TR adaptive training beta which sounds like it will adjust things for me. Any thoughts gratefully received…..writing it down I kind of realise I know what to do but still interested in your thoughts. Thanks

Mine failed at the axle so I backed off the big Allen bolt. 16mm I think and made a washer to fit, then tightened the 16mm on to it, Acted likes a pressure plate. Worked until I dropped on an arm on eBay. So far that one is holding up.
