My kids have requested one. I'm moving out for the duration. I want that t-shirt, ABF, anything but football!

If you're off to Cornlaand, then it's got to be NT, lots of lovely places there to visit, some meander down to the Fal estuary so take a picnic to the beach. If you take the wrong turning and end up in Pembrokeshire then the coastal carparks will be free as the NT own loads of coast down those parts.
We've had membership for many years and just about break even. Don't know much about EH but I'm contemplating the RHS thing.

Thanks, guys, I agree that a guide is advisable. Some climbers and their families have been recently and all voted it their best holiday, ever! I'm excited but it's going to take a little research.
    Cheers!

We used Direct Travel for a recent skiing trip, nearly £50 cheaper than Direct Line for the same cover. Wouldn't know about MTB cover tho', sorry

Down on the Lizard is wonderful but Roskilly's icecream is a great place to visit, lovely farm, laid back, peaceful and gorgeous icecream. On the way stop off at RAF Culdrose viewing point on a flying day.
The Minack is fab especially when a school of dolphins swim by behind the stage, it suspended the play when I was there!
Go to Sennen in the evening for the most amazing sunset.
Walk some of the coastal path for exploring more remote coves.
There are lots of Celtic stones etc, get an OS map to find them.
Logan Rock is a great place and there is a great beach that is a climb down so doesn't attract the usual beach crowd, from memory you have to go through the camping site which is also a good site.
+1 for the park at Marazion, spent many happy times there.
As said before a trip to the Scilly's is fab, the helicopter is fun.
St Ives is lovely, Tate is a good hit, but the town is busy.
Enjoy! We're going in August, I married a Cornishman so know it well and love it dearly.

Go and see a physio who specialises in shoulders, yes, they exist, asap, there's one in Leeds. Don't know where you are in the world.

No. No more. Can't do it any longer. I'm too old and it's my hormones that don't let me lose the weight. I can still ride my bike tho' and did twice yesterday. I may be slow but I go all day….

We've got an Outwell and with 3 kids under 12yrs, we had plenty of room camping on the Outer Hebrides, easy to erect (good for weekend trips) and sewn in ground sheet made the time in the tent comfy when it was blowing a hoolie outside. It does flap a lot in the wind tho'. For the money, it's a good tent but obviously not long term quality.

TJ – whatever ton did aged 18 he's learned from, forgive and forget and stop the aggression every time he posts. I've ridden with him and he's a gent. Yes, he's an attention seeker 😉 but STW would be a dull place without him, he's ace at getting people out on rides in the depths of winter, could you do the same? I'm sure you'd like him once you had got over your neckache looking up to him, he's huge!! Think Hagrid! 😆

John Lewis online here, they had a variety of sizes and quality and delivered at the time stated. Also the one we got, Supertramp, came with a how-to-use dvd and a free lesson at a professional club which was useful to me in laying down the rules!

Slightly off track here, but my 12 yr old has decided to cycle to school approx 2 miles away and through the centre of Skipton. Started off wearing a helmet but stopped after a couple of days as he was 'laughed' at when passing the 2 schools before reaching his own school. What I'm going to do is write to all 3 schools and insist the kids wear helmets as mandatory if they bike to school. Am I being overprotective or am I doing the job of the Education Committees Cycling Proficiency Officer?

Yesterday we went to Wycoller, up and over to Gorple and back very fast! It was fab, quick blast as time was short. The icecream at Wycoller (Fredericks of Chorley), delicious! Great to get out after a good Thursday evening round Widdop! Life's good 😀

Isn't that near the High School? Handy for the shops, cinema and deli's! Lucky you, but it's densely populated so may be noisy. We lived up Mount Pleasant until 4 yrs ago, Belper's a good place and my kids miss it still. Vet at Riverside is a MTB'er and there are some up Mount Pleasant. Good luck!

I've only just noticed this thread and haven't bothered to read much of the responses. As originally stated there are a stack of negatives in the argument. Turn it around, be positive, seek professional advice, her hormones are up the spout at the moment making decision making chaotic.
Do think about the adoption route, it's a positive route and there are plenty of couples for which it's the only solution to have a much wanted child.
Just a thought and it's probably been suggested before. It is life changing and frequently life limiting having rug rats, my husband struggles with it daily and he was the one who wanted 3!
