Freecycle (freegle) or the local equivalent is tops! Babies are an industry and they want you to buy shiny, fashionable stuff to go with your brand new baby. Resist! Save the dosh for all the classes they (you) want to attend, that's big money. Football and swimming classes start at 6months now! 🙄 And all the bikes they'll get through………

I think I must have been in the wrong place as we went to Samoens couple of years ago. The road riding was good but as for MTB'ing, I found myself thinking for all this uphill I want a very long downhill but wasn't rewarded in the slightest, far too short. Won't be rushing back.

I'll follow this thread as I asked about Croatia and biking recently. We're off there next year, climbing, biking, camping but knowledge is a little thin…

I sold a Spesh hardtail a few years ago. Only 14mths old so I wanted a good price so I started with highish price within £100 quid of what I wanted and I put on a 'buy-it-now' price of what I wanted. Loads of watchers and hits and it went at the buy-it-now price 1hour before the end of auction. It was never going to go until the last minutes and the person who bought it wasn't going to leave it to chance. I got what I wanted and ebay got the fees. I didn't want to risk a lower starting price.

BTW I haven't looked at your ebay listing, sorry.

Had to go and make bacon butties for the good folk of Skipton at the Sheep Day. Fund raising for the local Scout group. Is that a unique excuse?

My Golden Retriever died in April, but I'm having a rescue one at the end of the summer hols 🙂 They can match you up well and I've 3 kids to get the right dog for. Can't wait! Apparently the rescue place specifically for GR's have 3-4 dogs each week so if you don't want to go through the puppy stage it may be an option.

The Bike Shop in Skipton. Tiptop blokes and service and I purchased some Endura Hummvees which had an inaugural outing last night round Wycoller. They were excellent.

When forming them into shape, I stuff them with cheese, cheddar or blue, mmmm, yummie. Always use a few breadcrumbs and an egg.

Must say, that Madhur Jaffrey sounds yum, mosimus!

You're an inspiration, Ton! I should get my brain into gear and follow suit. But I wasn't the slowest on the ride last night… 😆

As an antidote to all the spending you and family have done for the wedding, send the present money to children in Africa. Just a thought.

Although not a biking cafe, there is a gold star cafe called No.10 at the bottom of the cobbled street in Haworth. She only serves cakes, no savouries and everything is homemade and I can tell you, they are the best cakes in the world and I know my cakes! She does the best tea and coffee too! There is seating outside.
Memo to self, make time to go v. soon….

Dale House in Kettlewell, Confluence Centre near Kilnsey, Skirfare Bridge Barn kilnsey. There's a place high above Kettlewell on the way to Little Whernside, it's impressive but I cant remember the name.

I've just sown lots of perennial seeds in my newish greenhouse so they can get going for planting out next year. And I've lots of quick growing salads and basil going bonkers. I love having a g'house, my haven from the madness of the household. Get my seeds from Chilterns near Ullverston, great company to deal with. Enjoy!

Pretty much as everyone's suggested but I'd recommend Marazion and the walk to St Michaels mount with young children, beachy, rock pools. The island is NT btw. The playground by the carpark is great at Marazion, right next to the beach.

St Ives Bay, 3 mile of beach but my favourite place in the whole wide world is Low Newton by the Sea, Northumberland. Transport me there right now!

Not read all this ton, but if you fancy Cornwall, try St Ives Bay Holiday park at Hayle. Is 3 miles of beach enough? Big caravans or take a tent and it's set ampngst the dunes.

B.A.Nana – Skipton's in Airedale (not Airdale) but Wharfedale did suggest a route around the Skipton area which could involve Airedale and Wharfedale riding!
