Hire a dehumidifier from local hire centre and give it a go to start the process of damp identification.

Spouse bought some Oakleys long time ago and they got scratched 3 weeks later. Sent back to see if they could replace lens and they came back it'll cost £90, so on top of the £180 he spent on them I said…no and made him buy cheap ones. Think twice about shelling out just to have a swanky name.

Encourage talent. My lad got one when he was 6, go with it, play to their strengths, you can always sell on ebay. It's great, better than violin!

My mates had a Lab that ran long distances due to Bob being a long distance runner. For years he ran and ran. Died, sadly, this year age 13ish. Beware of breed strain and hip probs and get to see the parents hip score and as has been already said, short walks upto age 12 months. I've a Flat Coat retriever (Black) and they love to run and he comes on routes with me, enjoyed Dalbettie very much! Labs vary so much within the breed so do some research. Lurchers are ace!

To reduce the plastic mountain, it's an idea to use compostable bags. Coop used to do them, if that's not to unhipp. Waitrose?

I had 2 bottles of Leffee once on a ferry crossing, it finished me off. I'm a cheap date and a lightweight but I can ride uphill forever! 😀

E45 and aqueous cream are moisturising, sudocrem (nappy rash cream) is barrier cream to help prevent chafing and on chafed skin, that's what you need on rides and emollient (moisturiser)on unbroken skin to keep suppleness and prevent dry skin.

My Golden Retriever, Morris, never swam unlike my other Retrievers, just walks in it. Mind you, he's never been a retriever either, chases things, looks at it and comes back without it. Not quite genetically with it. Now he's just wee'd on the floor when the door was open! Is this the beginning of the end? He's 14 1/2 btw.

Mastiles, you're always dicky-opposite 😉 It's what makes this site work tho'. Do you know the provenance of some of those shop cooked chickens?

Easy chicken, Chunky Chicken in cans from Marks and Sparks, comfort food. Always have a can or 2 stashed for emergencies in this household!

Lancashire hotpot, Delia has a good one, hugely tasty, main expense is lamb. Just get a side dish and my advice would be red cabbage and you can buy that in a jar.

Essential but horrid is taking a weeks worth of school milk cartons in 2 enormous plastic boxes to be recycled, hundreds of cartons and in the summer the nauseating smell must be my worse job. Masks and gloves essential.

If you know that bridleway that drops down to Eaves Lane and Church Lane in Hebden Bridge. Not singletrack but a big grin end to a ride so long as there are no happy hikers around.

Like I said, if you know where you are going, given the crowds.

Hamleys, your kids will love you forever and there's a cafe. 2hrs isn't enough in the museums unless you know exactly where you're going IMHO.

Halifax is grim. Slaithwaite and Marsden are the places to be. No pylons either. Loads over Halifax side.

I worked on a Burns and Reconstructive Surgery ward (Plastic Surgery as was) in the late '80's, this was a relatively common procedure and the reason the ladies gave for having the surgery? Their blokes told 'em to!
You sound such a reasonable lot on here, thank heavens!

At risk of being blasted for oversimplification, the female of the species evolved with the ability to produce children, produce hormones that stimulate milk production and an innate sense to nurture. They have 'tooters' to feed babies and supply a high quality product. Breast feeding is amazing at bonding with your baby with the 'let-down' reflex gushing love and pints of milk. I fed my 3 for varying lengths of time, my last for 16 months as he failed to thrive when we started weaning. He knew the good stuff. Bf for as long as your baby wants it, (prob not to bitty stage tho'!) they tend to stop themselves when there's a choice of food and drink. Don't put time limits on feeding, relax about it. Formula milk has it's place but it's not natural. It's (British) society's perceptions about breast feeding that requires examination and the free milk scheme should be reviewed. Midwives and Health visitors IMHO don't encourage what come naturally, tick a box on a form and run with it. BF takes time and IME women don't feed as they want to return to work, go out and resume a life they had before kids. They are also put under pressure from other family, friends which is just wrong. I accept some women can't feed.

Nestle, and formula milk in the 3rd world, ask yourself why they push it. Profit?

    I could go on……

Seek advice from physio. Do pilates long term and don't do swimming until recovered. Swimming doesn't help a bad back in the acute phase.

We've got a Supertramp, it's been amazing value for money as the numbers of kids using it has been phenomenal since July 2008. No issues with any part of it since installed. Got it from John Lewis online and came with DVD and free trampoline lesson with British Trampoline Club.

M-F, it's all shot in Port Isaac but I don't know the pub, bound to be near tho, plenty down there like that.

That baby was born wearing a nappy! Couldn't make out which brand tho' so the sponsors sisn't do so well on product placement.

Pushy parents if you ask me, hung up on celebrity.
