    Yes Buzz

It’s a great section in the dry without loads of people around. Lot of incidents there last year in the dry. Will be an ‘interesting’ section if wet. My GPS clocked me at > 60kph on 3 occasions through there last year 8O. May take it a bit steadier this year

Any word on if the course will still take us down the bottom? That section will be carnage if it is wet 🙁

Used my Tifosi Envy off road at Cwm Carn today.

Very impressed with the lack of fogging. Warm, damp day but no major problems. Not perfect but as good / better as any others I have used

Never really noticed the photochromatic thing. I guess that is a good thing? That said no really quick transition between open and in the shade at Cwm Carn.

My boss is in the US. He is now the 5th US boss I have had in ~ 8 years.

Really not a lot different from having a boss in the UK.

All 5 have been very different and how it works depends as much on you as him. Initially you will find it harder. Those ‘pop by for a quick update / chat’ need to be replaced by more formal comms. and learning how they work what they expect can be more difficult with no body language etc to read.

Get familiar with remote working tools (Net Meeting, Vitual Rooms, group tele conferences, video conferencing, etc)

Other than that I think I would struggle to go back! Love the fact I can be more flexible with my work patterns

My Specialized transitions were more than capabaly of changing quickly enough. Only small issue I had was in Morzine on le Pleney. Down the fastest section and straight into dark heavy wooded area. It took a few seconds to adjust. Only time I ever noticed

Will see how the Tifosi ones cope on a regular ride

Yes broad nose apparently. Optician has said that in the past and usually has to pry the nose piece wider apart!

The Envy clear to 12% so pretty much go clear (as far as I can tell!). Not done it but reckon they will work at night.

Tomorrow will tell how good they are in and out of trees.

    Big head and nose here

Just bought a set of Tifosi Envy. Only used on the road so far (many times). Photochromatic lenses (change depending on light).

Very happy! Initially they looked a little small.

Off road tomorrow. Will be interested in how steamed up they get at slow climbing speeds.

£55 – your LBS should be able to get a set.

6 of us took part and are more determined than ever to go back. Cannot let these guys beat us. We will try and double our group for next year.

With the obvious exception it would have been hard to been made to feel more welcome in the area

I took a trip to A&E as a result of the tacks. Thankfully nothing too serious but my helmet is now in the bin.

Pretty much every local I spoke to after the event was expressing embarassment at what a very small minority had done and how it would reflect on the area and Scotland.

The indirect benefits of this event are probably immeasurable. 1 member of our group was in the area for the first time and is already certain his family will do a week in the summer based in Pitlochry.

Poly – You say this is just a bike race and not a big deal. It could easily have caused a crash that could have killed or very seriously injured someone. What is your definition of a big deal? I really hope custodial sentences are dished out

He is a big guy and has a lot of seat post showing but it was comfortably over the minimum insert (if that makes sense?)

    So Blair got the nod.

Before the 6 nations I had him as shoe in for the lions. Hopefully he will recapture some form whilst out there

    South Africa

Seriously – you will pay for the trip and still save a packet.

I paid ~£2500 for one that we had valued at £6500 when we got back. The E.R. was very favourable then ~ 18 Rand / £ vs around 12 – 13 / £1 today so probably not so good a deal.

It is perfectly doable for a long w/e as it is pretty much the same time zone.

All that said. That was ~ 7 years ago so I am guesing it is still a good deal. Check it out!

A group of young girls in a Corsa were leaning out of the windows and shouting ‘ You look fantastic!’ and wolf whistling whilst I was out in my full lycra leggings on my road bike.

I don’t care what my wife says – they were NOT being sarcastic 😆

The i900 has a fair bit of layback. No idea what the actual amount is. reckon it is more than a Thomson though. No idea if it actually is. Point is it is roughly, exactly, similar.

I also have a Gravity dropper. It is inline. Moved from a Thompson layback, shifted the saddle slighty back on the rails. Happy 😀

My i900 is great, though the remote lever is pretty crappy. Change that to a pop loc lever (when the original breaks) and you are good to go

    Spot on TJ.

That said I think Blair sold himself short in the 6N’s also. Would have liked to have seen him on the plane. Not sure he merits it though

Powell will get destroyed by the ‘boks. I would have had Jones before him any day. I know Jones was off form but Powell has hardly been on top of his game either

Came to play in England and was assualted by Martin Johnson in an even more disgraceful manner!!

Reckon that was Jonno dishing out some ‘justice’. Not sure it was more disgraceful though. What McRae did to O’Gara was pretty awful

    Your deluded!!

How? As a neutral watching that game (actually shouting more for Wales) I was impressed by a player who I have not been a big fan of in the past. He had a great game

He did hump the Welsh backrow that day! 🙂

    Taz
    Full Member

No he’s rubbish, does nothing as a 7 and is an average international 6 at best. He’s what 30 + and has never been close to being Lions quality before.

Yes but the Lions is about the tour, not about preparing for the future, not about past performance. If you’er just miffed he humped the Welsh backrow in Cardiff fair enough. Just say it 🙂

    Quinnel was world class

    BTW – TJ, fundamentally I agree 🙂

Sheridan made more yards that any other loosehead in the 6N

Hmmm not sure about that. Dickinson from Scotland made a lot of yards. Though granted not the close in ‘hard yards’ and he can’t scrummage his way out of a wet paper back

Point about Sheridan is that it should not even be up for debate. He is awesome at that if he is used correctly. I just don’t think he is.

    Taz
    Full Member

    A A – Worseley had a very good even great 6N’s. No?

I used to train with Sheridan and frankly he is wasted. His scrummaging is at best ok. His real asset was always the close in pick and drive. Watching big, stong players hanging off him like 9 stone weaklings was always an impressive sight. You rarely see that in his game today 😥

Stronger guy you will not meet (well unless you count those ‘roid freak shows!). Truley gobsmacking what he does in the gym. Just does not fully translate onto the pitch

Would not have taken him personally.

I am pretty sure the SH teams don’t give a monkeys about the 6N.

Maybe they are playing up to the British audience but pretty much every SH pundit has said the SH would love to have a 6N’s standard of tournament

    Taz
    Full Member

10 is different though, we do need cover. Looping back to the original argument, would you then take Patterson over Hook/Cipriani/Flood etc?

No! Hook every time for me. Would probably have him ahead of Cipriani (though more picture of Kelly B in the papers would be nice :-)). Close call on Flood

    Taz
    Full Member

The 6N’s is envied by the Southern Hemisphere for a whole host of reasons not all of them purely playing (history, tradition, following).

My point is simple. The 6 nations teams (Italy excepted) could all run all of the big 3 (4 if including Argentina) from the SH close and are capable of beating them

The world rankings can be misleading. Scotland beat Argentina in Argentina the last time they played for example!

SRO got in before me. His arguments make sense to me though 🙂
