I’ve no idea where they found an impartial jury !!! I remember Britains biggest selling daily, putting their pictures on the front page with the headline calling them murders sue us if you dare. I’ve spent the last 16/17 years being told off their guilt.

I’ve got gatorskins on my winter bike and realy rate them. Deff agree Ultremo’s are best left for summer and good roads, love them though in the right conditions. I’m 85k and 100psi works for me with 23c tyres.

You did well to notise that, unless it looks much more obvious in real life. I’d never have spotted that, and if I did I wouldn’t worry about it. If it were mine it would be well ridden by now with a few marks already :D

He wen’t past you at 30mph and you slapped his wing mirror ? do you have a hand left. Stuff like this happens all the time, you won’t change peoples driving by provoking them like that, all you do is spoil your ride.

You were lucky ! I had to wait 5 months for my s/arm ! No fault of the retailer, thats how long it took lapiree to make one.

Taxi you could MTB over Castell Coch, Rydry, cow pat hill and into Cwmcarn, lap of Cwmcarn then back to Caerdydd!! That would be an epic showing leec some proper Welsh trails!!!

Done that one. But I’m to much of a wimp to do it in winter 8O

was thinking of cwmcarn really enjoyed it a few months ago and was looking forward to heading back there

Cwmcarn could be an option. It would be a combination natural/ trail centre ride, about 3-4hrs.

Don’t jump the gun ! The buyer might not even know they’ve won the item yet. Not everyone checks ebay all the time. It might come as a suprise when the mech arrives.

I’ve got a 2010 x-control and love the way it rides. For the kind of riding you describe its perfect. The s/arm snapped on mine though ! It was replaced under warranty with a redesigned 2011 one. Its worth taking the seat post out and draining out any water after washing. A bit annoying but better than changing the b/b every couple of months.

yes but you will need to put 10sp rings on it as they are thinner, the 9sp ones will be too thick for a narrow 10sp chain.

I’ve used campag 9spd rings with 10spd set ups, likewise 10spd rings with 11spd gearing. The difference is tiny. Worked fine for me apart from the odd clumsey change on my part.

It should work ok. Might not shift perfectly if you shift with the power on.

I’m 6ft with a 33″ inside leg. Its a 58cm frame the same as my Litespeed tuscany. The headtube is a lot shorter though. Going up a size would relax things a bit. Easy enough to sort out reach out with different stem lengths.

Loved mine untill some barsteward nicked it.
Deff. go with the lightweight trail build. Even in mint condition a 2006 frame isn’t worth much, use and enjoy.

I sometimes amuse myself by seeing how far I can drive without touching the brakes. Bad for the engine ? could be, but I’ve never heard that one before.

I wonder what caused the initial rift?

The Op posted a note about the alarm going off. Believe me thats all it would take with some people. 8O

Isn’t there something about not overtaking emergency vehicles as you could, at some stage along the road (slow traffic etc), impede their progress.

A good point, the fire engine might be on the way to an incident which has blocked the motorway. By overtaking youd be blocking their access.
I’d still overtake though, if the fire engine gets there first youd deff. be stuck 8O

I’ve never ordered a bike that wasn’t in stock !! once I’ve made my mind up that I want something, it has to happen straight away. If I had to wait months for a bike I’d want something different by the time it arrived.

Common sense is the key. I always pull over when it’s safe to let faster riders past. A friendly greeting when you come up behind slower riders seems to work most of the time, you just have to be patient if it doesn’t.
Some people disagree, but if I can I give way to riders coming downhill. The highway code stuff doesn’t count as far as mtb’ing goes, its all about having fun not the diffuculties a lorry might have starting on a hill.

My wife just brought a new cyclist into the world: a 7-pound, healthy boy version.

Congratulations :D Worth mentioning though. I’ve got two 19 and 14 I thought they’d both be cyclists. But they couldn’t be less interested :( Cycling is something their uncool dad does. you never know in what direction their interests will develop.

    Some usfull info here.
    http://www.cptips.com/knee2.htm

The tuth of ther matter is that pushing to high a gear can give you knee problems. “Can” is just that, loads of people are ok, but any objective advise is the way to look after your knees is to spin at a smooth cadence 70/90 or whatever. But if s/s works for you go for it.

Just clicked on mtb-wales for a quick look. Instantly diverted to a naked pic ( photo shopped ) of Emma Watson 8O . Probably not the safest site on the web.
