I’ve thrown items in the bin based upon the above rather than mess about with a retailer.
Me to, my next door neighbour is always sending stuff back he bought of ebay for a couple of quid. It’s a hobby I suppose, but he hasn’t got a printer and keeps asking me to print of return slips. He’s a good neighbour so I can’t refuse but 🤬🤬🤬
I’m booked for nxt Febuary, can’t think why not, just like going anywhere else outside the EU. Not looking forward to the potential queuing though. Went to Prague in August, sailed through EU immigration in 2mins. The non EU line was 100yds long with the desk manned by one disinterested, bored looking officer 🙁🙁
Your definitely not to old to train for and complete a marathon. The only issue might be is if you wanted to complete one in a particular time. In my mid 40’s I had a 1hr27m half marathon time. I tried the training for a sub 3hr marathon but broke down physically. For me by then I was to old for that goal. I never did do a marathon somthing I regret 🙁 I might join you OP and train for one, but it’ll be strictly a jog just to finnish attempt.
Spokes £40 CRC have revolution’s on offer and £30 for conversion kits, boost I assume. Rebuild is what I’d do and maybe get a couple of quid for the 26″ rims. You’d sell them easily enough on ebay.
I’ve got an Endura mtr shell. Its bery packable and properly waterproof and a 40000 breathability rating watever that is, I don’t getbto sweaty anyway. A bit pricy unless you can find one on offer.
+100. There always has to be discretion regarding parking. I drive a 16 seater minibus picking up disabled kids and taking them to school. I drive an urban route on mostly busy, narrow residential roads during busy traffic times. Not pulling up on the pavement (but not blocking it completely) would result in absolute chaos. Local authorities know this, hence the exceptions, even if the narrow one dimensionally minded on here can’t.
My understanding is that parking in all Welsh hospitals is free – done by Welsh Government.
It is, but as the Welsh assembly funds the NH in Wales it’s a choice. Free parking means less money for something else. I’m not saying free parking is wrong but you have to accept something else has to give.
It’s not a complete free for all though. You can get fined, at the UHW if you stay for over 4hrs you have to log you reg number on a terminal within the hospital. There all over the place so its not an unreasonable requirements, but people still fail to do so and complain about a fine.
Because as I said, I dont gaf about human tragedy stories.
Why not?
Some people are of the opinion that humans are responsible for all the worlds miseries, so nobody is worthy of consideration when tragedy befalls any of us.
Animals are the original innocents so its ok to feel sorry for them.
The Gap is the most boring early 90s style ride in the area,
That’s a bit of a lazy opinion there MG. Sure it’s not a technical gnar fest but it’s a great day out in some of the most beautiful countryside Wales has to offer. Accepting that it’s a “ride” I’m not sure hiw it could be described as boring.
Am I being totally weird then by wanting 2 handrails?
Definitely not, it’ll make getting up the stairs far easier after a tough ride or an over enthusiastic visit to the pub. A second rail will be in my near future 😎
How exactly have immigration policies created segregation?
People will naturally stick together. So are you going to forcibly break them up or force them to live in other places? That’s not going to go down well.
When we had the influx of Somali refuggees in the 90’s Cardiff was specifically chosen as a preferred location to settle many. The reasonable reason being Cardiff due to it’s history as a cosmopolitan sea port already had an established Somali population. All of them were found housing either in the Docks(Bay) or Grangetown, because thats were the other Somalis already lived. It was well meaning but not popular with the existing population. They felt it put a strain on local services and might cause prejudice against them when none had previously existed (not much anyway). Interestingly their biggest concern was that the new arrivals were mostly from a different clan so were looked on with mistrust and suspicion.
I’ve rented this cottage a couple of times, dog friendly a couple of pubs on your door and where 99% of people start the gap ride. I think there’s a weekend left at the end of November.
I’m going to stake them up properly so they can’t be pushed over too easily, but sounds popular, think I’ll give it a go, thanks for the encouragement.
Good plan, just don’t ask permission. It’ll only draw it to the attention of some jobsworth. There’s bound to be some bylaw against such activity 🙁
Taxi jnr informs me this is to set up a Tyson v Strowman fight at the Crown Jewel show in Saudi Arabia. By all accounts the crown prince is a wrestling fan so its a money no object deal.
Everybody knows about the awful things that happen everyday in the world. But it’s impossible to emphasize with all of it, you’d be totally overwhelmed. But I think it’s fine to be sad over things that compared to some of the world’s horrors are seemingly trivial. It’s sadness on a managble scale, somehow therapeutic.
this whole conversation is beign framed incorrectly.
most people don’t ride for fitness – they ride for transport. The more that e-bikes encourage people to get out of their car and ride to work or the shops the better.
I agree, people should always differentiate between e-bikes in general and e-mtb’s. Issue’s people might have with e-mtb use for leisure in the countryside have nothing to do with e-bike use as transport.
So when they gave some answers of how to make the changes and how to get the rest of the world to join in, I’ll listen. Until then they are simply a protest group looking for their time in the spotlight.
So just do nothing. Sorted.

@DrJ
But untill they tell us “how” changes can be made their doing nothing as well. We all know the problem.
I heavily doubt that in today’s World of targets and KPI’s for the Police, they would turn down an opportunity to arrest for Assaulting a Police Officer. Where they have overwhelming evidence and it would make an easy
I worked at night in Cardiff city centre for many years, and it’s as TJ describes. A fight breaks out, police arrive and will try and arrest the combatants, mouthy bystanders are told to move on and often physically pushed on their way. And yes people are grappled to the floor but allowed to leave without arrest. There seems to be a line that crossing gets you arrested. I will admit that line seems a bit fluid depending on the time of night how busy the police are and yes the mood and attitude of the police officer.
To be fair cougar, it’s you and others who aren’t showing empathy. The feeling that the referendum has been done and only the manner of have how we leave is to be decided is pretty widespread. Maybe not on here but in the country as a whole it is.
Still waiting for an answer on this one. Went to see Us and them at the cinema Sunday, he seemed to push all the lefty liberal buttons. I’d love to know if I should feel guilty or not ??
