I left le bourg d’oisans at 7am saturday, got back to cardiff at 11pm. The tunnel was jammed so lost 2hrs there, if you lived in the S/E it might be doable, but more like Saturday afternoon ride.

Your using Sram. Thats the answer right there.

Not heard of that problem, unless strava servers are down temporarily. As far as I’m aware you don’t get leaderboards on a segments only if its been marked as hazardous or you created a private segment. Likewise if you made your whole ride private.

My guess is, as Lord Harley wasn’t there he’s repeating a version of events as told to him by his client. That’s what he’s paid to do.

Nothings impossible, but I’ve never heard of anyone doing it. If you can find someone it won’t be cheap 😯

Good prices, the gold service seems especially good value. Are you operating out of a high st premesis or doing the work at home ?

I had a blue mk1a bit wheelie prone, and it had the round gear shift knob which you could unscrew to leave a nasty spike just where you didn’t want one 😯 As a proper bike it was rubbish, but for a kid to just ride around on being a kid it was great, loved mine.

You can give kudos to any ride that isn’t private. Just go on the leadership board click onto the ride and give kudos. Can’t see it being a problem or anything sinister. As said just like the facebook friends thing. If you don’t want strangers looking at your rides mark them private or go really slowly and you’ll be buried far away from the visible top of the leader boards.

I used R/R at about 65psi without any problems. But I wasn’t coming down the rocky tracks at about 40mph like the quick guys.

Dirtyrider: Is the surly listed as a mtb in your strava profile ? If not the default is road and strava will assume your ride is just a slow road ride.

strava power average doesn’t take into account headwind/tailwind ect. It uses a power formula which is different for road and mtb rides. If you use your mtb on a road ride it assumes your riding off road. You can have fun editing your rides and swapping bikes around. A 190w road ride becomes 345w when I swap my road bike for my mtb.

Just get the right bike for the job. Not seeing the point of a cross biike if your 29er leans towards X/C. A nice road bike, with road gearing and mudguards for winter is what you want.

what length do you need ? I’ve got a 100mm Syntace one with a 6 degree rise, it’s got a few marks on it but perfectly usable. Also got a “as new” Richey wcs 4 axis with 6 degree rise its 110mm but not sure I really want to sell it. You could have the Syntace for £10 plus postage if its any good to you.

Spokes have a lifespan, if the wheels not to old you can reuse them.

Just watched the film now. It’s just a short filler vid, shot in a day I would imagine, at a posh house with some pretty girls thrown in.
Two massive threads, hundreds of posts, seriously the lot of you should just get a grip, that includes STW, IMHO ❗ ❗

Eventually, discovered that the rear mech hanger bolts were not fully tight, so I tightened them and the creaking stopped.

Cheers slugwash 😀 Had a creak on my Canyon slx, tried everything but would never have thought of this. They were all a little bit loose 5 secs and an allen key creaking gone, amazing !!

Liam Carling beat Oli Beckindale apparently at the 2006 games according to the commentators Who can blame them for not doing their homework with no real English medal threats Would always be nicer to see more exciting young XC racers from the home nations. Great ride by the NZ and Scottish boys today though

I don’t know about “more exciting” younger home nations riders, I’d settle for just faster 🙁

IMHO I don’t think manufacturer’s loose many sales to fake kit. People who buy the fake stuff for £30 aren’t the same customers who’d pay £150+ for the genuine product.
For the sponsor their names out there even more.

Is everyone using Sh*mano? If not two sets of rear wheels compatible for either Campag or Sh*mano would have to be carried.

As said they carry Campag and shimano/Sram wheels, but the spacing on 11spd is so similar you’d get away with a one size fits all wheel now.

Sounds a bit like the taff trail near me. But people have been ridding like kn@bs since way before strava, the increase probably reflects the increase in cycling.

The consumer shouldn’t see much effect on their bills unless they insist on using mainly in the high price time bands.

But for most people this isn’t really an option, you can’t cook your meals bath the kids ect,ect at 3am. Life dictates higher demand at certain times, no getting away from that for most.

Carbon is pretty tough. you can chip the paint the same a you can with alloy or steel frames. But its also very repairable. Much more so than an alloy frame.
I wouldn’t bother about 27.5 wheels, find an extra £249 and get one of these ( unless you need a small)

The super six evo is a great bike but the Paul’s cycles ones aren’t the hi-mod version as ridden by Sagan ect, and their 10spd, not a big thing but not the latest.
Canyon have a few of these in various models from stock.
    https://www.canyon.com/_en/roadbikes/bike.html?b=10106

Its a proper pro tour frame and in my opinion one of the most under rated bikes out there ( I know I’ve got one, but I’ve also got a Ultimate slx to compare it to )
If your a large or small its a superb bargain.

Pretty sure they’ll work ok. I know it seems a bit drastic but the Ultegra chainset just looks horrible, even though it works great.
A “neutral” carbon chainset would look way better.

My Mum has one. I truly believe he would play ‘fetch’ for the entire day.

Are’s deffintely will 😯 . No chance of him joining me for a ride though, he’ll head home if I go for a jog around the park.

I’ve nothing against electric bikes. They seem a brilliant personal transport device. But they aren’t cyling even if you can pedal them a bit ( you could pedal a 70’s sport moped).

I’ve got some of these on the way.http://m.ebay.co.uk/itm/281304745677?nav=WATCHING_ACTIVE&skus=Cassette%20Body:Shimano9/10/11&varId=580346012274
should be fine as a budget all round wheel.

“To big” is very subjective, I don’t think you can define it by one measurement. I’ve ridden bikes from 17.5″ to 20″ without any problems. Reach, head tube and standover are more important.
