What does your son want to do. Does he want to race or just ride his bike as and when he fancies it ? What ever you do don’t be one of those terrible pushy dads 😯

Go for the Aeroad, super six is a good bike but it doesn’t tick the aero box. Radon looks nice but with the Canyon your getting a genuine world pro tour pedigree.

Did the rider look that it was safe before going through the red light ? I’m on the road all the time and see people doing whatever everyday. I’d carry on and enjoy my ride and leave him to his.

STW masses with far less info than anyone involved in decision making process decide decision was wrong..

Probably sums up very many threads on here, but its a forum how else would it work.

    I’ve got some of these.

A bit expensive but the best baggy liner combo I’ve ever used. The liner has an all important slit for comfort breaks.

I’m fully aware of how the law regarding being in “control of a vehicle” can be interpreted so the woman was definitely leaving herself open to prosecution. But as far as I could see she wasn’t actually moving when the cyclist challenged her. She might have had the bowl on her lap but only ate from it whilst stationery. A bit daft maybe but not necessarily dangerous.

No such thing as a free lunch. But honestly monksie don’t give anything away for free, especially if you can’t deliver, it only causes bad feelings.

Gareth had a terrible crash. He was a victim of the tacks but I’m not sure if his crash was related, with out knowing for sure it’s best to say not.

55 now and skin definitely takes longer to heal. I’ve got a big scab on my knee from ladt w/end and there’s very little evidence of healing. It’s going to take weeks to fully heal.

Shame about the tacks 🙁 luckily I didn’t find one. But it’s just one or two morons, all I saw were thousands of people clapping and shouting encouragement, I reckon S.Wales has done the event proud. 😀

All of the above but also anti bacterial as well :-). Definitely keeps the dreaded itch itch at bay if your sitting around in sweaty lycra.

@ rocco, it’s not very long about 1k but about half of it is 15-18%. It’s never easy and only gets worse with tired legs. My guess there’ll be a few pushing but most should be able to ride up in some fashion.

But nobody’s going to spend £1000’s on a ebike because of a niggling injury or they’ve just had a baby are they.

Binners why do you keep banging on about how great ebikes are on a cycling forum and slagging anybody who disagrees. Cycling is human powered, ebikes have engines, they have a place, but they aren’t good for the sport of cycling. These super expensive ones will very rarely be used by people with genuine mobility problems, just by lazy people who want it all without making any effort. Personal transport aside I’ll never use one, when I get to old to ride as I want I’ll do something else.

Get the shock back, send it to loco, mojo or tft, they’ll sort it, then get your money back from your local incompetent. That’ll be the hard part.

The coatings coming of on the rear wheel on mine. Not all over just in patches a few inches long.

^^ totally agree. Every record will be beaten one day but Wiggins has set a high mark. I wouldn’t be suprised if Martens and Sparticus even bother to try.

Having a “light” bike is more a mind set rather than what makes economic sense. 20gms of your chain becomes part of the whole. All those little weight savings add up.

But it could be. Price isn’t always an indication of quality.

My canyon slx is lighter, stiffer where it counts and more comfortable than the Litespeed Tuscany it replaced. You can’t do stereotypes with any frame material.

Without markings on the road it sounds like someone has made their own sign to try and blag a parking spot. Disabled or not you can’t do this. I definitely wouldn’t be apologising.

Still got them. I’ve been to lazy to put them on ebay.

Re carnage.. there’s quite a lot of street furniture and the like on some of those roads, and 500 roadies hammering along with little experience of closed roads and peletons.. I think there will be some.

That’s why I put a quickish finishing time on my entry. Starting near the front I should be in with more experienced riders. That’s the plan anyway 😕

7.45 start for me. A bit early but I’ve only got a 15 min ride to the start so not to bad.
Setting of in waves of 500 every 5 minutes, should be interesting 😯

I wouldn’t sell it to her. The bike the OP put together sounds great. If I’d put it together for someone and they wanted to take it to a bike shop for a valuation, well I’d get the feeling they thought I was trying to rip them off !! Game over at that point they can sort their own bike out.

What do you class as mediocre bikes??.Always wonder this do people have more fun riding a £5k bike over a £2k one??Don’t see myself.

I do, But I can’t afford £5000 so I wait for a great S/h one to come up for £2000.

I did it for my father’s estate. No problem once you get into it, just take one step at a time. I’m pretty stupid, so if I managed it so can anybody.

It’s a c#$p rule, who cares where the wheel came from. As much as possible the race should be decided by the riders not the rule book.
