Dropped my forks forks of lunchtime, went back to work, had a phone call a couple of hours later to say they were ready 😀 All the oil that should have been on the inside but was on the outside was back in place, so its a thumbs up from me.

In a timed event the clock starts when you cross the start and stops when you cross the finish line, thats it. I’m with your wife OP by now I’d have already posted a facebook comment with his correct time.

I got my arse handled to me on a climb a FOD the other day, but he had an E-Bike so it didn’t count.

Of course it doesn’t it’s got a motor, just the same as when a car or motor bike fly’s past you on the road.

    @ doncorlioni
No one on this thread has called themselves big hitters or forum elite, the only refrence to that was preceded by “so called”. Not sure why your defending hopey‘s trolling, but I do agree with you about about the grammar police, thats trolling as well in my book.

Pretty sure you can’t get one yet. This seems like an expensive solution.

Maybe Froome will get a knighthood, but 4 Olympic gold medals representing Great Britain certainly helped Wiggins get his.

I’ve had fs sl for about a year now. It gad a dropper on it when I bought it and I fitted 120mm rebas for a bit more in reserve on rocky stuff. I’d agree the rear end isn’t the stiffest but once you get used to the ride you don’t really notice any problems it is what it is. Where it really shines is as an incredibly fast mile muncher. Its far and a way the quickest bike I’ve ever owned, can’t think of anything better for marathons or quick trail riding.

It just means some poor sod will have to do the payroll as well as all their other stuff 🙁

Make sure the bolt joining the two halves of the chain set is torqued up properly. Its a big old thing and needs to be tighter than you might think. The torque settings will be stamped on it.

I enjoyed the riding and the filming of it, even the soundtrack was good. Only thing that grated for me was the trail itself. I know it could all be flattened and in a years time you wouldn’t know it was ever there, but it seemed really out of place in such a lovely place, a real scar. For some reason I felt a little bit uncomfortable about it.

On your own Unless you get into a trail head queue 😉 2hrs is plenty for Cafall. Any more than that for anyone other than a complete novice is a relaxed social ride. Enjoy, some people knock it but its a great somewhat challenging trail centre fix 😀

You’re right. Not mountain biking, just common courtesy.

Amazing how people trying to impose their own made up rules on others consider those people rude for not obeying. It’s completely the opposite 😆

Weirdest thread ever. I never stop on a ride and assumed the hanging around at the trail head was for having a breather/chat ect. If your waiting for a gap thats your choice but don’t expect others to join your imaginary queue. If I catch someone, I hang back pass if its safe, but more normally unless the rider in front pulls over I wait untill the end of the section. I’ve been riding trail centre’s since the beginning and never had a problem.
I’ll mention it, if you ride at trail centre’s unless your a riding god sooner or later people will come up behind you. No one’s being rude it’s part of the sport and something you have to get used to, if you can’t perhaps trail centres aren’t the best place for you to enjoy your ride.

A £3 blanking plate of ebay sorted it.

Bit of a knob for wanting to race, take a few more seconds ( well one anyway ) showing your competitors you can take what they’ve got and give back more. That would have been hugely satisfying for Froome especially with all the rubbish he’s been getting. The commentator called it even the lunge at the line.
Bit of a knob….. loads on here.

I use a lezyne pressure drive as well. Don’t bother with anything to “cheep and cheer full” because it probably wont work at all 🙁

Make sure the gear cable is clamped at the rear mech properly. If you’ve got it on the wrong side of the bolt you’ll get indexing problems !!

Definitely do the Gap ride if you haven’t done it already. It’s a proper big country type ride. There’s loads of gpx type files out there for it. Depending on when your down I could guide you round, I’m sure plenty if others on here would as well.

Since she’s been able to communicate (about 2 1/2 ) Miss Taxi has been incredibly fussy. To my mind food phobic. She’s seen all sorts of paediatricians and dieticians and all they were concerned about was she getting enough calories !! To this day green is still poison the only vegetable’s she’ll eat are carrots and sweetcorn. Guess what she’s a stunning healthy 18yr old. Don’t sweat it unless she’s very much underweight let her eat what she wants when she wants to.

To you guys who wouldn’t notice a difference in the feel of a bike with 275g wheels I believe you 😀 we’re all different, what goes for one doesn’t for another. But don’t say others can’t because I most definitely can, and it improves my enjoyment of a bike.
So Op maybe lighter wheels will work for you maybe they won’t. Probably the only way to find out is to spend your money.

I can’t believe some people saying you can’t “feel” the difference in lighter wheels !!! Absolutely agree you’ll only be tiny bit faster but unless the bike is an absolute tank it’ll definitely ( that word again ) feel lighter and zippy, especially when you stand up and accelerate whilst pulling on the bars. For experienced cyclists to say they don’t notice this leaves me more than a bit confused 🙁

If your looking to “improve” as a rider coaching will certainly help. But most people just want ride their bikes a bit. Not sure where coaching fits into that ?

I’d say its worth the £1000. You’ll always get people saying a friend if a friend bought xyz for next to nothing.
Even if it’s true its a being in the right place at the right time thing. I’d buy it at that price if it was the sort of thing I was looking for.

I’m not completely sold on 1×11 yet. I have a fairly narrow cadence sweet spot. The ratio gaps on 1×11 are bit wide for me. Add in if I load my legs up they die and I can’t spin a high cadence like some people, so all of my 29er 26/39-11×36 get used every ride in my neck of the woods. I’ve git Sram xx and it works perfectly, it never drops the chain weighs a few ounces and I can find any gear I want more or less instantly. Ride what works for you, but I do wonder if the guys I see pushing up hills with their 1×10-11 have made the right choice.
Racing aside if I’m out for a bike ride I like to keep riding whether thats 2mph or 60mph.

    @ whitestone.
The article linked to says all seven if his speeding offences were committed over a short period . They were all dealt with by the court at the same time receiving 6pts for each offence giving him the total of 42. Prior to attending court his licence would have been clean.

As NBITF says whats the point ? If you want a more compact riding position with a few more hand positions, fit some narrower flat bars with some bar ends.

Just one thread where the racing and drama of the most fantastic sporting event can be appreciated without the same boring haters going on and on and on…………

09/10 forks? If the OP didn’t notice any kind of creak and is happy about that then sorry, if there was a serious issue they would probably have died by now. A polite was fine for me, they are 5-6 years old and I assume the price reflected that

    Sums it up really.

Don’t mess about,I’ve got a nice fat alloy drift for just this eventually. Turn the bike upside down, lay your drift across the bottom bracket shell and just knock the crank off.

Don’t Google the Gap route it’s blooming boring.

Some good rides in the Black Mnts for sure. But the gap Boring !!!!! I hope I never get so jaded 😯 It’s not always about super technical gnar.
