Do you do the same type of rides on all the different bikes ? I tend to pick whatever one I think would be most suited to a particular ride. Hence my average speeds vary greatly from bike to bike.

Guy was a tool for braking like that, dangerous for both of you.

The whole situation seems painful beyond belief, both for your daughter and the rest of the family 🙁 🙁 . Can’t you just break into the hospital and rescue her. I know that’s not realistic or helpful but it’s all that would be going on in my mind.

Couple of weeks ago we didn’t know he had ‘dodgy’ TUEs did we? Who knows what might turn up next  😀

But there’s nothing dodgy about it, all legal and completely within the rules. Maybe something else more damming will come up, I hope not but you seem positively gleeful at the prospect !!

I doubt the bikes you were lifting were road bikes, rather proper race cyclocross bikes. Not much between the two weight wise 😯

lie/exaggerate about your condition to get the legal exemption, that isn’t cheating?

So regarding Wiggins where’s your proof he’s lied or exaggerated about his condition ? Thing is you don’t have any do you. For some reason it just suits you to believe that Wiggins and Sky are cheats.

The trouble is that most of the people doing the ‘judging’ here are either armchair enthusiasts convinced that all pro cyclists are pretty much tainted / ex-dopers trying to paint the current situation in the tinted light of their own past / journalists who are desperate to create a controversy / Team Sky haters, who would regard anything that team did as evidence that they are evil, depraved, child-eating aliens / trolls.

sadly this sums up this entire thread. 🙁

2 for me, I don’t even know what a spiralizer is.
Not going to google it either, I don’t want to know 😆

Joking aside, if it was for one event I’d ride it with a couple of heavy duty jubilee clips holding it together.

In my eyes, biking should be pure. You, the bike, your fitness & resourcefulness to have an amazing adventure – which to me is the very essence of mountain biking….

I agree completely, but ebike fans won’t have it. But times have moved on and they exist now so no point ranting against them. I hope they don’t cause access problems, but only time will.

it may well have already been said but,, speed doesn’t kill. Poor decision making kills. Equally powerful cars don’t kill. Driving and making poor decisions about how to drive kills.

I wouldn’t be surprised if most manufacturer’s or distributors warranty departments googled themselves. Not to catch people out as such, but looking for problems and any general feedback out there.

If your not concerned about painting after welding, it might be worth a go for a short term fix.

Well it’s a real shame 🙁 I’ve spoken to Ron a few times whilst out on the MTB and always found him very polite and friendly. People I know who’ve worked for him rate him very highly as well. I can only think his mental state isn’t as it should be. But he does live in the area of the trails mentioned and probably walks his dogs in the woods daily. I certainly hope his experiences of mtb’ing recently hasn’t caused his change of attitude.

A bit of rub here or there is irrelevant. Just ride the bike and ignore it.

I’d imagine a xc/enduro has xc type stages rather than the more normal gravity based ones.

It’s not difficult, put passport in slot, look at screen.

But if your like me, someone who foolishly had his passport photo taken without their glasses. Having to take my glasses of for the things to work I’m to blind to even look in the right direction 😳

Like most people I pay the parking fee’s and don’t really think about it. But access to the forest is a good thing, so is the exercise and recreation that comes with that access. I’d like to think that access should be free of charge. Here in Wales things like museum admission is foc, payed for from general taxation. FC parking, footpaths and mtb trails should be the same.

Yeah, sneezing, ****-ing hurts. Twice only so far….

If you feel one coming and you’ve got the time, wrap a towel around your chest and pull it tight as you sneeze, helped me a lot 🙂

I don’t have a date switch over. If it’s a wet summer day I ride my “winter” bike purely because it has mudguards. As above my summer bike gets used on those crisp winter days.

All of the brands you mention do bikes that would do the job your looking for. I’d make my choice based on availability when I wanted to buy but most importantly whatever one I liked the look of most 😀 So my vote goes to the Trek top fuel.

Fergal has it,ebikes are something different. They have a place but aren’t an evolution of or a replacement for normal bicycles. I do wish people would stop lumping them in with mountain bikes as a whole 🙁

I don’t have an opinion about ripping or not ripping people of. But why buy something just to sell it to someone else for the same price, genuinely interested.

But why buy something just to sell it and not make a profit ?

That should clear it up for the dim essel, but I wouldn’t count on it. Seems a weird thread people seem more concerned with your alleged middle lane hogging (you weren’t) than some genuine dangerous driving 😯

Staying in other peoples homes. Not for me but obviously it works for some. I did a similar trip with Mrs Taxi admittedly without kids, we just rented a car bought a campsite guide and stuck some camping gear in the boot. We had a great adventure and would do the same now 😀

Lezyne do a variety of sizes, mine has a tube, tyre levers and a chain tool with room for a phone. It fits perfectly into my jersey pocket and has lasted for years. Sod your Tesco freezer bags buy the right kit for the job you cheepskates 😀

Take the bike back to the store and ask for a refund. If you don’t want to put a 26″ wheel in there (it’ll ride fine), cheaper than a new frame.

30t oval,10-42 on a 29er hard tail trail bike. Above average fitness but pushing to high gear ( for me ) just kills my legs.

Handy hint – measure how wide the gap in your front door is before selecting new bars

Measure the gap between the trees at your favourite riding spot before selecting bars.
It makes life less painful 😆
