I’m with mikewsmith, my winter bike has exactly those pedals, they work perfectly for around town duty with any slightly grippy trainer or shoe. Wet or dry ! Pretty sure no road specific/flat pedal exists. Loads of spd ones out there.

Lets see, a democraticly elected government takes power in the UK. Some people in the USA think thats a bad thing so they organise a protest. We’d all be wetting ourselves laughing.
Of all the pointless pathetic posturing these losers take first prize.

Personally I wouldn’t go lower than a 34/50 with a 11spd 11/32 cassette. The jumps in a wider range cassette would spoil the rest of the ride for me. If I had to get of and push so be it, I’ve done it before and no doubt will do it again 🙁

I’ve got some older ones, but this is from the summer, having another go at MX at 56.

    I hate them with a vengeance 😡
Mrstaxi loves them though !! If anything were to ever split us up it’ll be those nasty little things.

Don’t worry about it fourbanger. You only get back what PPI you paid in with a little bit of interest and minus about 30% if you go through one of the PPI companies. So you’re not really any worse off.

Info here to do it yourself and save fee’s, it’s not hard I know a few people who have done it.

Three sides to every story and sounds like we’re only getting one…

Of course there is, but at the moment we only have the horse riders, who feels strongly enough about the incident to have made a complaint.
If the bike rider felt the need to protect himself, come forward and give your side.

So Sky broke the rules there?

That would be a no, at the moment at least. And until “proof” that they did is produced this thread and every article about the issue is just hot air and talk.

Like you say, why not wait for the UKAD investigation findings?

If they got a flash a letter will be sent to their UK property. I’m sure their tenants will let them know if something turns up.
But using that address to rent a car and not living there could be a whole can of worms !!

I would imagine chewkw is the most popular reason and certainly why I got it

chewkw is one of the reasons I come on here, so bad he’s good 😀
And if you read his post’s with anything other than the most leftie hand wringing viewpoint he does hit the target from time to time.

CX would be perfect, hardtail with fast rolling tyres more than acceptable.

This, in February it could be a bit wet and soft in places to make the road bike the best choice.

Looking at a pic of some on CRC I’d say they are fake, a few difference’s in the detailing.

No idea if their genuine, but they might be worth £14 as a pair of gloves.

    does not make it true.

Says who ? I pull up all the time on my road bike pedals. Most frequently on short power climbs, you don’t change down and spin, just stand up and sprint into them. Plenty of pulling up going on.

Never been asked. But it only takes a minute, so I always turn up with one.

I hardly ever take taxis - but the last cabbie turned out to be a fellow MTBer who tends to ride on the same night on the same trails as me!

It wasn’t me, because night mtb riders aren’t my thing at all 😳 But there’s no such thing as a taxi driver stereotype. 1,600 taxi drivers in Cardiff 1,600 people each with their own very personal stories 🙂

So, political insinuation then, not actual information. Or bollocks as it’s also known. This kind of talk is what is so very wrong with the world.

you’ll never find a smoking gun where you could quote Corbyn as saying “Russia is fantastic I wish the whole world could be just like them”. But the cumulative effect of his whole career suggests he has a soft spot for the place.
Thee BBC link is just a tiny part of that.

I’ve used these, but they do a more trail version.

They took a while to come but arrived safe and sound, weight was as described and look and finish was spot on. Built up nicely and have been on the bike for a year now with no problems. Impossible for me to say if their as good as LB rims but they seem to be doing the job and are probably going to be nearly £50+ a rim cheaper after vat and duty.

I’ve bought 1000’s of spokes and nipples have always been provided, sometimes you have the option of selecting a particular type, but the default has always been some standard brass type that comes supplied in the box, always !!
Whatever JRA says on their site is just bull. All their doing is working their customers over for a few extra quid. Don’t say their not charging RRP because what the hell is that with spokes.

Never. Every bike I’ve bought has been near enough the right size. Posts go up and down, saddles back and forth, different stems, bars spacers under on top its just a bike millions of people just get on them and ride. No reason why you can’t do the same.

Always laugh at people who need a label to tell them if something is fit to eat 😆 If it smells good, looks and feels good, cook it properly and get it down you :D. But I agree M/S is going to get crucified over this !!

Well I love Christmas, atheist but so what it’s a festival, I’ve been skint so I’ve only spent what I had, I’ve had to work Christmas day, great shift. My father died a couple of days before Christmas a few years ago, but I still celebrated because he loved Christmas and that’s what he would have wanted. In fact I’m looking at a bottle of his favourite whisky right now so I think I’ll pour a treble and raise a toast to him 😀

    Merry Christmas everyone 😀

Keep at it metallheart your having a ball. And “credible” means just that, something you could present in court or a proper enquiry not just blah, blah, blah. Which untill anything “credible” or shock horror “proof” comes out is all this thread and others like it is.

Here in Oz similar taxi regs to the UK and no uber goes through the same checks and licensing yet.
This includes things like criminal records checks and car checks

In Cardiff uber has to use licensed taxi drivers using licensed private hire vehicles. This is true for most of the UK. London is a bit different regarding private hire vehicles and drivers.

And still there’s no “credible” evidence that Sky or the British cycling team have cheated or broken any rules. Pushed those rules to the limit to gain all advantages possible yes, but so what that’s what winners do.
I’m so with Shane Sutton on this, but you lot seem to be having fun so just carry on 😆

I won’t wish Your son good luck Op. If he’s good enough he’ll pass, if not a few more lessons and experience will be a good thing.
Does he know about the car ? If so that’ll be ramping up the pressure !!

As for the dust, it will be minimal. Do it somewhere with a bit of ventilation. It is a one off, you are not handking industrial quantities of the stuff.

This 1000x .I’ve always used a saw guide and whatever blade is in my hacksaw. As it’s something I do very occasionally it’s never occurred to me there could be a risk, and there isn’t IMHO.

    For you, 29 for sure.

You aren’t going to be doing anything rad, let’s face it. Your idea of a good ride is covering lots of ground in an adventure sort of way, isn’t it? So 29, for sure. The difference on those rocky valleys climbs is quite something.

Mg has it James. I’ve got a couple of very different 29ers your welcome to take out for a ride. They’ll be a bit big but not so much you wouldn’t be able to ride them.
