always surprised that Nandos is so popular, strikes me as quite bad vfm.

I’ve always thought this aswell. But they serve food and if I’m hungry I’ll eat it. The same as every other chain restaurant, I’ve never had anything I found inedible. If I want really nice food I generally make it myself or go to good independents.

Credit card and live in a hotel for a month.

I’d say the same. I know you said you couldn’t afford it but if you can’t you’ll just have to suck it all up. Nothing will change your MIL 🙁
Hopefully having a rant on here has got things off your chest a bit and relieved some pressure.

I’ll nor pick sides. But out of interest how was the part sent to the wrong address. Do you have two addresses in their system, and at what point did you specify which one should be used.

A homosexual* man is doing that to you – you still ok with it ?

I’ve got a gay friend who does this all the time. He’s just one of those tactile touchy feely people. Absolutely nothing sexual it’s just a way he expresses friendship. I certainly don’t have a problem with it nor does anyone else. Not sure when fleetingly touching people became such a problem 🙁

and then, come Halloween, they send them out begging door to door dressed as sexy witches in the dark. Genius.

Just gave some sweets to a bunch of youngsters all in great fancy dress. Two adults in charge, only knocking on doors of people they know in the area. Oh yes one of them was dressed as a witch but being six nothing sexy there. Get a grip man !!

Why couldn’t it end in another election if cabinet ministers/ MP’s resign/ are sacked?

Do you honestly believe this government, or any government would sack or allow enough MP’s to resign resulting in an election having to be held. Certainty not during one of the most crucial periods in modern British history (brexit).

If you want an answer. No there won’t be an election based on this issue.

I gather you like beer Ton 😀 So despite some great brews I’d avoid Scandi countries unless your prepared to take out a new mortgage !!
Mrstaxi and myself have been to Prague several times in winter, always been cold loads to see in walking distance of the town centre and most importantly my favourite European beers from about £1 500ml if you avoid the tourist traps.

‘…..potentially irreversible damage to our nation’s security’ as quoted by Trump.
What does that mean and which agencies have been lobbying?

    These ones by all accounts

Allegations of a government cover-up are unlikely to be assuaged by reports that the CIA, FBI, Department of State and other agencies lobbied at the last minute to keep certain documents under wraps.

If your not a conspiracy theorist I’d imagine there’s still some information in the files that might compromise individuals or methods of operations that are still relevant in this day and age. Or at least there’s a belief that they do.

So well documented it’s taken 20 pages, 3 solicitors, a poopy nutter and a few hangers on to ‘establish’ enough of an excuse for the OP to perhaps wriggle off yet another hook…

This could be true, I sure as hell don’t know. But ling isn’t the person supplying the car, just an agent facilitating the deal. Her participation send consumer rights ect,ect into a very grey area. I’d bet if she brought a case against the OP it wouldn’t be as open and closed as some think it would be.

Can I choose Simon? I like the sound of somebody who will buy his mate a car.

Would you help a friend get heavily into debt buying a car the clearly can’t afford ?? I wouldn’t 🙁

If I were you Ling I’d listen to poopscoop. It’s not worth your time getting involved in arguments on internet forums, it’s to easy to get emotionally involved and loose and all perspective.
I think you’ve been messed around by a couple of fantasists and are pissed of about it, I would be to. But it’s time to leave the bickering alone now and see them in court. Either that or walk away and concentrate on your “paying” customers and make some real money.

    aming.

It’s not really relevant.. If the finance company is satisfied and the deal is completed, then any issues with payments to the finance company are legally between the finance company and the person who signed for the finance.

Agreed, but they would be more likely to complete a deal if it were a husband/wife buying a car to be used by their partner, rather than a friend buying for a friend. Assuming they were aware of the situation.

The person signing the contract takes on all the responsibility. Whoever drives it is irrelevant as long as they are correctly insured.

Perhaps in principle. But when your dealing with real people a close family member would be far more likely to step up and make the payments. A friend is far more likely to need to be forced to make the payments kicking and screaming. Enforcement takes time and money, something finance companies are keen to avoid. So yes the nature of the relationship does matter.

Coming up from the South I normally start the Gap from Pant. It stretches the ride to just over 28mls but it’s just a bit along the resevoir and railway line so nothing super exciting.

a relation of mine was a scientist who used to make margarine, she wouldn’t touch the stuff and vehemently suggests we shouldn’t either.

Then what was he doing making it then ?? Just happy to take the money I suppose. Great scientist 🙄
Flora’s my poison of choice, tastes ok to me and can be spread from the fridge, I’ve never managed to do that even with the so called spreadable butters.

I wouldn’t go,not with how you describe your symptoms any way, but thats me. I’d probably wait a few more days. If it didn’t improve I’d go and see my GP before visiting the hell thats my local AE.

What if you have an off-road commute?

I’d imagine that the number of people who’s only option for commuting “has” to include proper off road is tiny, so its not really an issue is it.

    taxi25

If it’s restricted to E-bikes used for commuting cargo ect it sounds great. But if E-mtb’s came into the picture it would just become an excuse for another n+1 toy. Not sure the tax payer should be subsidising that.

Providing the bike was in good working fashion when sold I wouldn’t refund the money. By doing so you’d only empower the woman and give her encouragement to continue acting in an unreasonable fashion.

For a summer bike I wouldn’t look at discs, it doesn’t matter how well the might work I just don’t like the look of them. Besided I’ve done 8,200 mls on my summer bike and Its still on the original brake pads !! They work just fine in the dry.
If I could only have one bike for all year use it would definitely have discs. I was coming down a soaking wet lane once on my rim braked winter bike and couldn’t stop at a T junction. 😯 lucky nothing was coming but it shook me up.

Have a look at the Canyon lux range especially if your not going to test ride anyway. Don’t be shy about having a dropper seat post either, it’ll make the bike that much more versatile.

Going on supermarket curries being very tame compared to their equivalent curry house versions I’d hazard a guess that the Morrisons one isn’t that bad.

Iceland does a ghost chilli and Vindaloo that are properly hot !!!
I’ll be trying the Morrison’s one and will be suprised if its hotter.

These E bike threads never fail to throw up the haters. And the users then feel they have to justify their usage .
Which is bollocks they are legal and here so get used to them .

To be fair most of the hate comes from the pro emtb camp, they get hugely defensive over the fact that others don’t share their passion.

I’m buying an ebike because they look fun. OP you sound like a proper dick regardless of ebikes or not.

^^^^^ I find it hard to disagree with any of that article.

As far as trail wear and goes, I don’t see any reason why e-bikes would cause any more damage than a regular bike, except for one thing – remember the point about being able to do more laps in the same amount of time? Well, that’s double or triple the amount of use on that particular trail, which means that maintenance is going to be required sooner than it would have had only non-motorized bikes been used. It’s not as strong of a sticking point as the potential for user conflicts and losing trail access altogether, but it’s something to bear in mind nonetheless.

This seems the most pertinent point relative to my local woods. Some nice downhill trails, the use of which is managed by having to cycle/push back to the top. For most 3/4 runs is all you’d fancy given the effort required. Up and down all day until your battery runs out will make them less sustainable.
Saying that Emtb’s are here now, and I wouldn’t call for a ban, I just wish they’d never been invented 🙁
