Wether we agree or not primates are used in clinical trials the world over. Can’t we forget for a moment the atrocities that happened in Germany 70 years ago !!

“The Quote button is the 2 speechmarks in the grey bar above the posting box.”

I wish people would stop saying stuff like this. I’ll shout it, ON MY PHONE THERE IS NO GREY BAR WITH SPEECHMARKS OR ANYTHING !!

“me too, I only have raw text input”

Same hear, on chrome with android phone. Just a box to type into. There’s a preview tab a box for tags and submit, thats all I have.

Never tested a bike. Know what I want so just buy it.

The Ling thread was brilliant!! But I didn’t see anything on it to suggest her buisness isn’t legit.

“When you say stiff, are you saying the ride is harsh?”

I’ve got a 290 pro. Certainly stiff but no harsher than most hardtails I’ve ridden. Maybe not the best allday bike for rocky trails. But it’s a great messing about in the woods/trail centre bike.

But it’s worth noting that in the UK twice as much alchol is sold than we admit to drinking. So I take any published survey about our drinking habits with a pinch of salt !!

I know someone who, when asked by the GP how much he drank, did the usual and gave her a much lower figure:

My next door neighbour when asked the same question umnd and ahhd a bit so the Dr suggested “maybe 20 units ?” My neighbour agreed not realising the Dr ment per week not per day !!
150 units per week is no problem for some drinkers. And they fully function and don’t consider themselves alcholics 😯

Just check it yourself. Gear indexing especially.

This for sure, make sure the rear mech doesn’t go near the spokes !! Easy for it to be knocked during shipping.

There used to be some at Cwmcarn, weren’t there?

Used to be a triple thing, three drops side by side of varying heights. Knocked down now, I think the air ambulance got fed up with attending 😆

Does anybody on here buy from Eurocarparts with one of their many 30% off deals and walk into the local garage with a boot full of pads, disks and track rod ends for them to fit or is only the “norm” in the bike world.?

Pretty common with back street garages. But most of the ones I use get their stuff from eurocar parts and only mark up their trade discount.

we don’t judge we just add a “wiggle tax”.

Customers know you do this. Some might suck it up, but others will learn to do stuff and blow you out altogether. Labour rate should be consistent wherever the parts come from.

You’re never to old to learn stuff, get yourself booked on with a decent coach.

People keep saying stuff like that on here. I don’t know anyone who’s done a skills course, it must be an English thing 😉
But surely the best way to improve is by riding more, if you go on a course then only ride once a fortnight how will it make you a better rider ?
    P.s
I’d spend the money on a good road frame.

I’ll pretend the previous thread didn’t happen 😆 I wouldn’t bother with the repaint, and without that it would certainly be cheaper to repair than replace. But 10,000k+ if all of road is a fair bit of riding, I’m not suprised the bike is a bit tired. I’d buy a new one as I’d be bored with it by now. But you’ve got to make your own mind up. It’s pretty pointless asking the same question over and over.

It was out of order. But I try and keep things simple for people so I don’t get disappointed so often. So very much this

[/quote]It’s poor but you could have made things a lot easier by just handing over the 2 cups with the frame rather than 2 whole headsets.

What about rides where someone else is on a e-bike and you draft them?

No motorized pacing an Strava 😉

I know gearing is personal but as your already using a 28t I wouldn’t go lower than the 32t. Most Continental climbs aren’t so steep but long. With a 40t cog on the back the climbs will take forever !! You’ll be bored of your bike before your legs give out 😆

I enjoyed it, total tosh but good fun 😀
Even saw the burnt out settlment before it was burnt down. It was filmed by Nash point lighthouse. Security guy said it had been built to be burned down for a Sky show. I thought it would be GOT but never saw it. Then it appears in Brittania, I was strangley pleased 😆

60ml of sealant isn’t much. I normally go with about 100ml.

joins explicitely to give a glowing review after several iffy ones – I’d trust that.

Thing is there weren’t any iffy reviews. Aaracer rode one around a car park and said it seemed ok. And a couple of bike shop types had worked on one and not been impressed with the build quality. But no one has actually owned and lived with one untill hoverboys input. And reading his post it doesn’t really look like something a Gtech employee would write .

WTF are you doing on this forum then ?

Actually answering the OP’s question. He seems to be the only person here who owns one, and has given his opinion.
Your replies a disgrace TurnerGuy 🙁

Here’s an easy solution. Pack it in. You are being far from helpful and trying to troll – as seems to be your habit.

No, thats not the way I see it. The OP has a problem, not so much the amount he drinks but the effect it’s having on his family. Also the fact he realises this and wants to do something about it.
A group cuddle is ok in some circumstances but the OP is neglecting his family and needs a kick up the arse before it all goes horribly wrong 🙁
If he were a mate of mine I’d be doing this along with any practical support I could manage.
OP by the sound of it your only just in control at the moment, this weekend give the pub a miss. You don’t need strangers on the internet to make this decision for you, make it yourself.

The problem is, that to completely avoid any chance of a loss of control, you’ll have to drive so slowly, that your risk of having an accident increases, because you have become a hazard for other drivers.

Not really, you can make due progress, just as you need to do to pass your driving test. Obviously stuff happens, but with judgment, reading the road and anticipating what other road users might do you almost never have to regain control of your car. Since my driving epiphany I’ve never skidded a car unintentionally unless it’s been on ice or snow, certainly not spun one. I’ve only really piled on the brakes about 4-5 times. I’m not a tasty driver unless getting from A to B safely is your only consideration. But I’ll do that day in day out year after year.

BTW, to remind most thread readers who will have fallen asleep by now, the entire point of my original post was to suggest that Competition or Dynamic vehicle handling skills are not necessarily ‘useless’ om the road. (They may be rarely useful, but the one time you need em, you may be grateful of having them)

1.5 million miles under my belt and the need for Dynamic vehicle handling skills has never been needed. Just drive slower and with care.
I’m not whithout sin, in my late teens early twenties I rode m/cycles and drove cars like an idiot, but then I grew up. Some people it appears never do. Speed has one place and that’s of the road an on a track !!

I’m sure all your good experiences are pretty common but so are bad one’s.
My mum is found by her carer’s having had a fall. The call me and we decide to call a Dr. It’s Saturday so it’s the out of hours service. 2hrs to arrive and he wants her in. It’s not an emergency but I can’t get mum from upstairs to the car on my own so he arranges an ambulance. 5 hrs later and it hasn’t arrived, on the ambulance despatcher’s advise I upgrade to an emergency and one arrives in 10 mins. 1 1/2hrs outside A/E waiting in the ambulance then 2 days in assesment on a trolley before a bed is found.
Week last Saturday pop into mums about 11am she’s very poorly with terrible black diarrhoea. Fair does a Dr is there in about an hour. He wants her in. Asks if we can get her in ourselves as 6-7hr wait for non emergency ambulance. I borrow a wheelchair from a neighbour, and wife and myself construct a home made nappy for mum and get her to hsp. 8hrs in assesment with mum sitting in her own filth for much of that time. All this still in the borrowed wheechair. I left at 3am when they found mum a trolley and confirmed they were keeping her in.
I’ve no idea what the answer is but I won’t be getting old and at the mercy of the NHS, not here in Wales anyway.

Where are all these racists of which you speak, zokes? I’ve not seen any on STW. Please report any you find and allow STW to ban them.

Just look for a post that has any sympathy for or slightly Conservative leaning and you’ll have found your racists. 😉

Buyer is taking the piss. £56 for wheels, cassette and tyres. He’s an idiot.

I wouldn’t refund anything in this case. Let him go through the ebay process and see where it goes.

The dominant view seems to be that the retailer owes me neither money nor goodwill.

As he’s accepted the bike back he certainly owes you momey !!

A number of promised deadlines for refund have come and gone.

This is worrying and very poor 🙁

You need a crown race fitting tool. But I normally just split the crown race and itll just slip on. However there are mixed feelings about doing this.

I kind of think middle age as I thing begins at about 45ish. If giving a description of someone aged 36 you wouldn’t say “middle aged”. I’m 57 and describe myself as middle aged. Not even thinking about the next step “old aged”.

The size was recommended by the retailer.

Not something I’d do with a mail order customer, who had concerns about size. I’d leave it to them to make that decision.
