Hati has long been destination for sex tourism in the area. I used to work in The Bahamian capital Nassau and it was common for expats ect to have sex junkets to Hati, there’s never been a shortage of prostitutes there, and I’m sure the income they brought in was valuable to their family.
I’d be outraged by the Oxfam scandal if….
1. The girls were under age.
2. Money destined for aid programs (not the workers personal monies) was used.
3. There was any coercion involved by the aid workers.
4. Local laws were broken.
I’m not generally bothered by men working away from home using prostitutes. Maybe I’ve missed some detail in this story.

Not for me, I think it would be awfull. The gaps between gears would be really noticeable on a road bike. Unlike a mtb I’m not seeing any attraction.

I drive for a living A to B. For fun it’s been 40yrs of Motocross I have a 1979 YZ250, 1997 CR250 and 2015 KTM SXF350. But my bycyles are all human powered I’ve never mixed the two and never will, both are completely separate distinctive pleasures. What others do is their buisness but for reasons mentioned before I see e-mtb’s (not e-bikes in general), when ridden by fit able young men causing trouble for mtbing and all off road cyclists.
Hopefully I’m wrong but we’ll see.

That’s more or less what I do. Plank then into press ups, first thing in the morning then before bed, 5mins total per day. Loads of other stuff you can do but I reckon I’ve got 90% of the benefits covered.

Oldtalent’s right though. Yes some are struggling as some have always struggled. No revolution, facebook group or internet petition will change that. Look to yourselves and your family first. Do that properly and you might find your able to then help some others.

There’s one of the issues I have with them. Twice the descents is twice the wear and year of the trails. Not much of an issue on man made stuff that is maintained. But your local woods sort of trails will suffer.

My Grandmother’s second husband was a mason and so was one of my uncle’s. My father was asked if he wanted to join but despite respecting them he decided it wasn’t for him. They were just a middle ranking civil servant a council worker and small buisness man hardly the privileged elite. Cockwomble and a couple of others have it about right. Others are just parading the chips they have on their shoulders along with the usual right on ignorance.

I’ve heard of a contract where instead of a balloon payment the vehicle is sold, by auction or other means. If it raises over the final payment you get some money back. Just get in touch with the finance company they’ll tell you what’s happening.

Uber driver here. You’ll need to get a private hire drivers license from your local authority and get the use of a licensed private hire vehicle. You could license your own car if it fits the requirements of your local authority. As for working with Uber they only operate in larger urban areas, a quick google will show you where. You aren’t going to get any work with them out in the sticks. If you get licensed up a local traditional PH company might be a better bet for local work.
For what it’s worth Uber a great to work with, and if you don’t mind driving into a city that the operate in you could work exactly as you describe. Send me an email if you want any more info.

I’ve got a Canyon cf ultimate slx and in terms of performance it’s superb 😊. Grand tour wins countless pro tour race success’s , you can’t knock it’s pedigree. But it’s a tool for the job. Whatever the spin it doesn’t have the sexiness of a boutique brand !! But I’d still get another one, the 9.0 canti braked model with mechanical dura ace, probably the peak of a functional road bike group set. Discs and electronic shifting might be fashionable, but for everyday riding…..MEH
