does he actually headbutt him? I reckon it’s faked.
    maybe.

    🤔🤔

The 57-year-old man needed stitches to a wound above his eye, and suffered ligament damage to his arm, police said.

Obviously an elaborate ruse to discredit cyclists 🙄🙄

    I’m guessing that’s taxispeak for “I don’t agree”.

Nothing taxi related, just a variant of an old favourite.

It looks a bit like the suit guy takes a swipe at the bellend as he zips past on the bike.

On what planet did you see that ?
Pedestrian rotates his body and pulls his arm up to avoid it being hit by the cyclist.

If you fancy sealed bearings and don’t mind spending some cash this should fit.

    Wow

Indeed Wow. Explain to me “how likely” it is that photographs, (if some were taken) off an an anonymous girls high hemline whilst sat in a foreign airport by a complete stranger, do actually come to light and cause distress ? I’d say it’s they very definition of “unlikely”. So you balance that against the “very likely” distress caused by telling them. You then make a judgment call about what to do. But you don’t because you do what you think is right in the spur of the moment, which is what the Op did and thats all anyone can do.

Having had time to think about it I probably wouldn’t have told the family. Even if photographs were being taken, (not someone just being bored at airport and doing some
spur of the moment perving) they wouldn’t have been salacious, and it’s highly unlikely that they’d be so widly circulated as to cause concern to the girl or her family.
I agree the distress would be caused by “knowing”.
I’d have probably let the perp know with a stern look and some finger wagging. Not exactly saving the world but enough to put a stop to what was happening.

On another note it’s a shame Edukator has been treated poorly by some forum members. He at no point condoned or supported the perp’s activities. In my view he just tried to give some insight into French law and legal culture. Something I found interesting and informative.

there are others who are pro business who can see the damage brexit is causing and will switch allegiance to stop the damage.

They’ll have my vote. My view has changed from a remain voter believing the referendum should be honoured, to believeing no sensible leave deal can ever be found and agreed by parliament. It’s time to bite the bullet and dump brexit altogether. Hopefully most Brexit voters will get their heads around it at some point.

I’ve got a Hope with gxp adaptors. You can change just the bearings as they wear out, I’m not expecting to buy another BB unless I fancy a colour change.

At what point does it become a big enough constitutional crisis for Lizzie to sack him? She did it to Whitlam in Oz in 70s, for much less.

It was the Governor General Sir John Kerr who sacked Whitlam. It’s still very much up for debate how much the Queen knew about it. (letters between the two are still under lock and key) The palace has always denied any knowledge, but I’d doubt that very much.

I DID NOT KNOW that every day queues of chauffeur driven cars, with their engines running, wait outside EU establishments while their occupants go in, sign in for their attendance allowance and expenses, then come straight back out and are driven away.

Sounds like my local dole office come signing on day, but substitute Limo’s for Uber cabs 😁😁

Yes, because that is right and proper. And a referendum isn’t. Oh, er, hang on.

We’ve had the referendum and it delivered a result. The GE would be to provide the government with a mandate to carry on as they are. Or not if they lost, then someone else gets to have a go. That’s how democracy works isn’t it ?

There never was any point to brexit

And yet the country voted for it, and here we are now in a total mess.
I honestly can’t see a way forward at the moment 🙁

So… it’s May’s Deal, No Deal, or no Brexit.

Not entirely true. If you were prepared to remove some of May’s red lines there may be some renegotiation to be had.

But then there’d be no point in Brexit. For the majority of leavers removing freedom of movement was what Brexit was all about. It’s the basis of of May’s redlines.

Gorilla tape is 0.43mm stans is 0.15mm. Could be the difference if you get a tight tyre “big” rim combination.

I found it really tough, I deffinetly wasn’t on a good day.tmThe climb up Jacobs ladder wasn’t ideal but I’d love to ride down it one day even though it’s a 4+ hour drive to get there. Still a good ride and in a place I’ve never been before. Stayed over untill this morning and had a curry in the Curry Cabin. I can certainly reccomend that place, it was probably the highlight of my weekend 😋😋

6% of the population don’t have guaranteed hours from week to week that is a significant part of the working populace.

Mrstaxi provides social care, she’s on a zero hours contract. In practice that neans she can work more or less whatever hours suit her. She currently does about 30 but could do 50 if she wanted. A friend does only 12. Zero hours isn’t alway a bad thing and a godd chunk of the 6% will use the contract to their benefit.

They now expect that promise to be delivered on. There were no caveats, no side clauses, no loopholes. They asked a question, they got an answer. It’s that easy.

And 17 million are still waiting, they haven’t gone away just because their not engaging in internet discussions, going on marches or signing pointless online petitions. But they do expect the result of the referendum to be delivered in some form at some point. If it doesn’t happen they’ll just vote for whatever bunch of wack jobs who will.
It’ll be this political change that’ll break Britain not leaving a trade/economic union.

So what’s the point in routing it down there?

    Because it looks great 😁

It is a bit of a pain when you can’t ride the good bits because of the crowd. But that MTB marathons you just have to suck it up with good humour.
I’ll be there with my bad shoulder, but after riding down that I might be looking at the short route. 🤕🤕

Sprinter, a little over budget ( haggle room) Sprinter
Does have a tail lift though!

Tail lift is just bolted in, if its in good condition and will pass its certification test it’ll fetch £500ish.

Generally I would expect some behind the scenes discussions as opposed to a tweet and then Trump throwing his toys out of the pram when they politely say no thanks.

Indeed thats how things are normally done. But Trumps famously thin skinned and this isn’t exactly polite.

Ms Frederiksen said the suggestion was “absurd” and a spokesperson for the Danish People’s Party said this was “final proof he has gone mad.”

It doesn’t sound very bizarre to me. Greenland is an autonomous territory not an actual part of Denmark. It costs Denmark a fair bit to support the population, sure there’s plenty of nature resources there but Denmark might not be in a position to utilise them. USA offered to buy it once before $100 million just after WW2, I wonder what the offer would be now, wouldn’t you want to hear it even if you had no intention of accepting ?
Certainly strategically, especially with the climate warming buying Greenland makes perfect sense for the USA, makes sense to at least show an interest in doing so. They did after all buy Alaska and Louisiana.

I keep saying I’m just going to start hiring bikes abroad, but can’t bring myself to do it, cheap nasty tyres, backwards brakes, different length cranks etc.

Take your own tyres, folding obviously. I find it takes me about 15mins to get used to the brake thing. Cranks will be 165/175mm probably 170mm, you could cope surely?

Yes it’s a blessing you don’t have to keep drinking and act like an arse just because you don’t suffer hangovers.

This 100%. I don’t get hangovers, not from the 4-6pint consumption range anyway. If I drink a fair bit more than that especially red wine I can get one. But what stops me drinking to my personal excess is not the fear of a hangover, just that I don’t want to be a drunken dick.

just sitting there waiting for new topics to pop up so they can just post some snide shitty remark?

Nope genuine sentiment, given the information I had at the time I felt the Op needed to get over himself. As the thread moved on and I became aware of the Op’s job, his concerns became a bit clearer and somewhat more justified.
But remember making shitty remarks about percieved shitty remarks is a shitty thing to do aswell 😉

Just fly or pay the money. The world won’t alter whatever you do. Are you really bothered by flying or just parading your pretend guilt as some sort of green credential ?
