My father was in the motor trade so he was always bringing great cars home ( and cr@@py ones ). This was the most memorable one because the Saint was such a big tv show at the time.

I had an OP a couple of weeks ago so shouldn't be w**king at all. But its my busiest time of the year so I've been w**king non stop. Its very sore and I've got an infection so perhaps I should stop w**king for a bit now.

The xfactor winners song will be no.1 end off!
Last year there was a big push to get Jeff Buckleys Hallelujah to No.1 ahead of Alexandra Burkes offering. It got to no.2 selling fewer than 100,000 copies (downloads ) Burke was no.1 with over 500,000.

Why did he work for another three months for no pay? When he didn't get payed at the end of the month, what made him keep on working? He's probably just another creditor. But get him to see the citizens advise people there might be a scheme or something to get him some money.

The "why no Steve Peat" or any other British world champion downhill Mtber's comes up every year. Outside of the sport how many people have heard of SP ? about two or three maybe. I'll be voting for Cav easly Britains most exciting cycling talent.

According to their website on-one only have a couple of 14" frames left at £799. I don't think you can use that as a basis for pricing a s/h frame. The new stock will be more for certain.

I use them in the winter. You get plenty of water in them, but there is a wet suit effect so your feet stay warmer than with normal socks. Not perfect by any means though.

I thought the article was pretty fair. Questioning the councillor about his refusal to provide a breath test was relivant, in so much he refused to do it because he felt he would have been fitted up for his political beliefs. Not just that he's an arrogant, stroppy bast@rd.

As others have said your prospective employers have to "apply " for the crb check wether you pay or they pay depends on wether you'll be employed or self employed ( I had to pay for the pleasure my self ) Despite what some people think there's no automatic rejection, its up to your employers to decide wether any negative results are applicable to the position your seeking.

I can understand the rspca chasing this as far as its gone. But they've lost and should leave it at that. On the balance of things it seems the court has got it right. I hate all this disinheriting your children cr@p, I prefer the French system were you can't and your children have right of inheritence.

If your boss expects you to work unpaid overtime He/She is stealing off you pure and simple!!! Its got to come back to you somehow, time in lue bonuses etc. I do feel genuinly sorry for people who are trapped in such a situation. Its the main reason I could never give up being self employed.

"worried " about a slightly right of centre goverment rather than a slightly left of centre one !! Come on for the vast majority of people there wont be any difference. A couple of people will do better a couple worse, just how it always is.

What all of you guys who who say the "weight of a bike isn't important" seem to forget is that a 26lb bike feels and rides differently to a 32lb bike. Depending on your preference you might prefer the feel of a heavier bike???, but loads of riders prefer the nimble feel and zippy acceleration you get from a light bike, regardless of rider weight. If you enjoy riding a great lump of metal good for you, but for normal riding around anything over 30lbs seems dead and lifeless to me.

Still hoping Wales will qualify for something at least once in my lifetime (not going to hold my breath though. !!)

I use campag stuff. Probably because it was my old road bike groupset so it went on the cross bike. No probs with it in the mud or anything. Only thing that gives shimano an edge in my book is the ergo levers, campag stuff is flatter, you don't feel as secure going down steep hills and drops. If I bought new I'd probably go for Shimano.

Good rant Drillski but I've never described myself or heard another taxi driver describe themsselves as "professionals". We are as you rightly point out professional in the sense we're paid to do the job. I agree with you though, it gets on my tit when bin men for instance are called "enviromental hygiene professionals"

I Know its splitting hairs idave, but I take pride in my job, An illegal taxi isn't realy a taxi just the same as unqualified layman isn't a doctor. You might call yourself one and try and do the job but your just a con.
I know its hard to resist the cash, but idealy you should have got the police involved and got him of the road.

idave, an uninsured taxi driver isn't realy a taxi driver !! He's just a criminal bum. Around here as soon as your insurance expires your vehicle goes on stop. It's no longer a taxi untill you take a new certificate to the hackney carriage office. Bad luck with being hit, but you've more chance of being hit by mr.average than a properly licensed, insured taxi.

Nope just an easy target. Taxi's are noticeable and visible,I drive around all day, I stop, do u turns park in narrow streets, bus lanes were ever. Not because I feel like it but because I have to in order to do my job. And my job is providing a service to all of you out there. If I'm double parked in a busy street it's because someone has ordered a taxi and can't be bothered to come out and meet me, you can't just cruise past and Bu%%er off.
For what it's worth taxi drivers have fewer accidents per mile driven than the average motorist (500,000 for me and counting ) In 20yrs I've only had two runins with cyclists ( no accidents just near misses) One was totally his fault ( riding off a pavement at speed and trying to go around the front of my car, as I was pulling out of a junction ) The other time I could see how he thought it might have been my fault, but it was just one of those accumilation of circumstances. In both cases I was subjected to foul verbal abuse, being a cyclist I forgave them and put it down to the release of adrenaline you get with near death experiences.

Plenty of rumours and urban myths about cwmcarn lap times. But sub 40mins has been done. Anthony O'boyle live locally and has done a 38-39 min lap.

I've just read the op and can't see what you all are fussing about ??? He's not saying h/t are rubbish and people shouldn't be riding them or are stupid for doing so. Only that in the situations he described his new full sus out performs his old h/t. They of course ride exactly as he describes, that doesn't mean loads of people don't prefer riding h/tails, fully ridgid or whatever.
