I don't even think to bother buying stuff like that at my lbs ( its not mine just that its closre to were I live ) Save your money and buy online. Darwins theroy applies to bike shops the same as everything else.

If I'd nipped onto the pavement to get around an obstacle blocking the road ( the only time I do ) and was unlucky enough to get caught. Then I'd def. pay the extra money and take the fine. Times far to precious to have someone patronising you for an hour.

I've had a similar thing happen. Contact the seller and post again if he payes the postage.

It always amazes me the hatefull bile somepeople spew on here. But then thats true of a lot of forums, sad mean spirited people tapping away on their keyboards. I'll remembe Higgins as someone who entertained millions with his sometimes brilliant snooker and zest for life. His personal life was just that, surely not to be judged by people who didn't know or even met him.
R.I.P Alex Higgins I'll raise a glass to you down the pub tonight.

Loads of people put stuff on there with fantasy prices, This guy was hoping for a buy it know of £750 for a broken frame. !! The winning bid seems about right ( If you could get it fixed, I asked him who quoted him for the repair, but he never got back to me )

DON'T drive your car into Cardiff saturday for the speedway, there's terrible road works in the city centre at the moment. With the crowds coming in for the speedway and the rest of the normal traffic it'll be a nightmare. Try and park up away from the city centre and walk in.

I'm wondering if Gerraint T can get in yellow tomorrow. Made a small margin on Cancellara today.

I was thinking the same. Its a tough stage but no killer mountains. Most of the main GC guys will probably be happy to ride together and not give anything away. Might give Gerraint a chance to nip away without anyone being to botherd.

Deffinite no from me at trail centres , and I'm a dog owner to. Maybe ok during quite midweek times but not at w/ends. There's thousands of miles of natural trails you can ride with your dog on, how about keeping just a few bits of trail ( as much as possible ) for bikes only.

Got to admit I was a bit dissapointed with Wiggins. Not being biased because I'm Welsh, but did you see how fast ( in the wet ) and skinny Geraint Thomas was !! Perhaps a change of team leadership is in order.

I wouldn't say its over priced. But then its not cheap either. Most mtb marathons are in the £30-35 price range so call it £100 for entries. You can camp all w/end for free at a lot of events as well. So is £120 for the use of a tent you probably already have, and food that might or might not be suitable to you.
Maybe a cheaper unsupported option might help entries

    I've seen people camping here.
Its on O/S sheet 160 Brecon Beacons. You cam park at 064 170. Follow the stream up and you can find some flat bits were you can camp. Everythings pretty dry at the moment so take care if you light a fire.
If thats no good you could wild camp outside the Star Inn Talybont-on-usk like I do.

The seller isn't going to get the asking price, but he/she is free to ask whatever they want. But as the ad has been placed free of charge on an open forum its reasonable for other forum users to make fair and accurate comments about the listing.

They can use cowm leisure just over the hill, its not free and has rules but if they don't use it that too will eventually go it needs supporting to survive.

Looking at its web page I see mx bikes over 85cc are excluded. No use to this bunch of rider then.

I use a Yeti 575, Its built pretty light though. If you could use lighter wheels and tyres the Heckler would be fine for a day out. I've not done an Enduro with any really tough downhills so you shouldn't break lighter gear.

The missus on the other hand thinks they should be sent to prison for life and life should mean life. Can't see my viewpoint at all and it comes up everytime they're in the news…

I have the same arguments with my missus !! We have an agreement not to talk about it now. It was a terrible crime, but for once I agree with Gordon Brown !! Let the criminal justice department get on with the job their paid to do. I'm a bit of a " hanger and flogger " but with 10yr old boys you have to try.

Yours I would say. The contract is he pays you and you supply the goods. Until he receives the goods you have not fulfilled your side of it

You could say that but, If he doesn't bother to pick it up from the post office in time he's broken the contract. If you follow your logic I could keep posting it back and for for eternity.

how about keep the 456 and alter the build a little? perhaps a shorter fork. Or race on it as is?

I raced mine ( pretty slowly, but that was me not the bike ) Wound the talas down to about 110mm fitted a 110mm stem, with x/c wheels and light tyres it was spot on 23lb. You could go lighter 22lb would be pretty easy.

why don't you drive round the route before riding it, dropping off water bottles at various points, maybe hidden in the bushes?

I used to do that for long runs (15-20m)in hot weather. But it would be silly to do it for a 100m bike ride. Just stop off and buy what you need.

Get the saw guide from CRC. Its better if you hold it in a vice, but not essential.

All depends on the route, conditions etc. But typically road is 15-20mph and mtb 7-11mph.I've got a mtb route which I use for time trials to test my fitness ( I'd say it is a proper mtb ride, all offroad hills etc ). My best average speed on that was 13.1 mph but those days are long gone.

I go to 50nm wich is about as tight as you can go by hand with a normal 8mm allen key. Always use a bit of thread lock as well. If a crank has ever come loose slap some of this on the b/b taper.

I've never thought to user a processor or anything. You need
1lb hard breadmaking flour I just use the white stuff
    tsp salt
    tsp sugar
    sachet of instant yeast
    2 tbl olive oil
    abt 10 floz warm water
This will make two good zized bases
Just mix it all up stating with a spoon and the with your hands. Knead it for at least 10mins untill its smooth and elastic. Split it in two and put in an oiled bowl, cover and put somewhere warm untill it doubles in size.
I don't use a rolling pin just spread it out with your hands onto a pizza pan or stone.
A good tip is when you had the water its better to be to wet than dry to start with. you can always add more flour as you Knead.

Thanks for the replies. The fixed price repair is £168 in Cardiff, will probably go with that.

Insurance will be the decider. Look for anything with an engine under 1000cc. You'll get a bike in anything with a hatchback.

The almera sounds a good buy to me. If its in good condition and been regulay serviced it should be a good buy. The price is about right as well for a mate sale.
