Already got my boozy/cycling trip booked in Spain for next Febuary. Then for my 60th later in the year it’s a 5 week European campervan tour. Not fully worked out a route for that but more than one country will be involved 😉

Motorbikes that have the wrong engine sound, 4 strokes with 2 stroke sound and visa versa 😡😡

Any chance of a quick trip back to the UK to pick something up ?
The price difference is probably worth the cost/effort.

    Pulled at random.

Alternatively Halfords have a range and provide a fixed price fitting service.

I went cheap and simple with one for my van.

Just scotch block the camera into the reversing light circuit and the screen plugs into accessory socket. It works fine and is all I need.

I bet it’s a completely staged picture and they were back to the flat roofed pub after it was taken.

100% its job done for them. A bit of publicity and back for refreshments

but every plane not flying is good news.

People will just fly with someone else, there won’t be an overall reduction in flights. But you know that don’t you 😉

So they stuck to their Ts & Cs and you claimed off insurance.

You’d be amazed at how many people don’t take out insurance 🙁
I’ve just booked a trip for nxt Febuary and haven’t taken out a cancellation policy. But it was only £540 so can afford to self insure. I couldn’t if it was a £4500 trip.
Hope your daughter is well JJ262 and you all get a holiday 👍

there’s nothing worse than idling along in a bunch and not having to work at all……

Speak for yourself on that one 😉

Pretty much agree ETP. But the Saville inquiry has let the cat out of the bag regarding this, it won’t go back to easily 🙁

I reluctantly agree, the greater good here is to forgive move on. Members of the IRA and UDA have been given amnesty for the horrible acts they committed upon civilians, this should extent to the Army and RUC as well.

Not quite true, no one has had amnesty as such, and cases can still be brought if new evidence becomes available.

    https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/amp/uk-northern-ireland-46508044

    Quote from article.

In fact, the IRA prisoner release was not an amnesty as prisoners were only released on licence, and the so-called letters of comfort made it clear that there would still be prosecutions should new evidence be found.

I use adjustable pliers to bend rims back. It depends how bad it is 🙁
You can still find new xc717 rims, not cheap but they have xm119 rims aswell.

Andy R I have a mate who knows suspension inside out tells me to avoid those Blue Enduro seals , not fit for purpose .

You’d bin the bike rather than give them a try ?

    Nope, quite different.

But charging one person for these wider actions

It was very specific actions on one particular day.

I’m uneasy about the whole thing, but this particular soldiers actions if true went way beyond acceptable behaviour, very much this

    Vigilante action ?

    Acted on own ?

Decided to take out revenge attack ?

Sadly I think there is a case to answer, also that he should have a chance to explain his actions himself.

To be fair SR you were travelling in the wrong direction during rush hour on one of Cardiffs buisiest commuter routes . That journey has been a total pain for the last 30 years or more.

    Review for you.
Regarding maintenance, the Op is a novice not a seasoned expert he won’t be riding like one for ages if ever. A fresh top end will last 30+ hours thats a couple of years at the practice track, same for the clutch. Regular oil changes and a clean air filter will so wonders for longevity.
I’ll second keeping hold of it can be a problem, Mx bikes are thief magnets 🙁🙁

You can race hare and hounds on a MX bike (generally have specific classes). More beginner friendly than a MX event.

Lets not run before the Op can walk, he’s not even ridden a proper motorbike yet. Firstly the Yz is a great bike and 2 strokes are the in thing at the moment. If it’s as cheap as you suggest you can buy it for polishing practice and make money. At my local track https://www.facebook.com/groups/314457776260/ they have a junior track, as a raw novice you can ride around that to get used to the bike. You will be lapped by the 8yr olds, but people won’t laugh…….much.
Once it gets busy they split the riders on the main track into novice, intermediate and expert sessions. I assume other tracks have a similar policy. It can be dangerous, but not dissimilar to mountain biking, certainly if you only do practice days. Stay within you limits and injuries can largely be avoided. It’s just bad luck if something happens. Racings different, there’s no point being there if you aren’t testing yourself and other riders will be racing you aswell, accidents are far more common.
If you’ve got the itch it won’t go away untill you scratch it, but be prepared for it to be a lifelong passion if the bug really bites.

I rented a bike of these people once, the chap who sorted it was British, I think he was owner/partner in the buisness. No idea if their hiring.

At first glance I did think thats a lot !! But looking at it even with your breakdown it’s about right. Only thing they did wrong is not offer you the left over tape as they charged for a full roll.

I don’t think he’s a total novice, initially his line looked good, but tails isn’t far of, he needed to go quicker or slower. As it was he didn’t have enough momentum and got bumped of line and over the edge. Faster might have kept him straight. But slower and you could just foot your way up without loosing control.
Very lucky to have that pool at the bottom not some pointy rocks 😨😨

Even though it’s how I make a living I spend as little as I can on cars but still have something that does the job.
But I know some people who to them their car is everything. They often live in modest houses and have a car thats worth nearly as much, it’s not for me but it’s their choice, nothing right or wrong about it.

Only consolation, but not much is that it broke down before the tunnel. You’ve got 2 weeks of, just grab a cheap holiday to anywhere and look into renting bikes and riding wherever you are.

My mother, where she lived as a child was very hilly and my grandfather didn’t think it was safe for her. For some reason this didn’t apply to my uncle 🤔

I wouldn’t highlight the 83mph on the NIP, I would go to court and then challenge the credibility of the evidence

Sorted, good job you didn’t follow this advise 🙄🙄

I did it, seem to remember a figure of eight course Whytes, wall first then of for a shortened skyline. It was tough especially as I’d been ill before Hand. My intent had been to only do the first loop short course. But I sort of felt OK after that so carried on with the long route. It bit me big time and I suffered terrible cramps, probably the mist i’ve ever suffered on a bike 🙁🙁

There is a trend to move away from single use disposable cups (rightly so). But from a pure cost perspective I’m sure the cost of cleaning, storing replacing reusable cups is more than providing your single use takeaway cup.
    P.s
Discounts for bringing in your own cup is the way to go IMHO.

For example, a spaceship could travel to a star 32 light-years away, initially accelerating at a constant 1.03g (i.e. 10.1 m/s2) for 1.32 years (ship time), then stopping its engines and coasting for the next 17.3 years (ship time) at a constant speed, then decelerating again for 1.32 ship-years, and coming to a stop at the destination. After a short visit, the astronaut could return to Earth the same way. After the full round-trip, the clocks on board the ship show that 40 years have passed, but according to those on Earth, the ship comes back 76 years after launch.

Which gives the perfect excuse to post this.

It seems remarkable that they’d offer you a ticket rather than an invitation to appear in court.

You get the NIP first. Then once they have your details you get offered a speed awareness course, offer of fine and points, and yes if this went forward a court date.

Within the current system I’d say he does. There has to be a limit on how long something can be held against you. In this case a contested conviction that resulted in a non custodial sentance. I’d say 25 years is plenty long enough.

    P.s
I wouldn’t have a probkem with the whole honours system being chucked in the bin.

Pity the video didn’t mention the build weight, despite being heavy myself I like a light, lively feeling bike. 2-3lbs lighter would be my guess.

Careful if your thinking of buying of ebay. They’ll very probably be counterfeit, the last two pairs I bought were. They were ok gloves for the money but definitely not the real thing.
