Ironically enough doesn’t this nursery rhyme owe it’s origins to everyone dropping dead during the black plague?

I grew up with that explanation. It was a suprise when people debunked it here !! But live and learn.

Although I’ve not had a heart attack myself I was with Mrs Taxi when she had hers. It was the neck and jaw pain that got me phoning 999. It sounds as if things are being managed even though it can move at a painfully slow pace. But listen to your body, Dr’s can be massively overworked and are under real pressure. They can and do miss things, if you start to feel really ill don’t wait for your appointments phone 999.

If I’m out on a “ride” xc-helmet type helmet and gloves, any more and I’d feel to protected go faster and hurt myself even more 😟😟. Just using a bike for transport, nothing just my normal clothes.

She’s trying to get elected by appealing to the membership.

Which is what she needs to do at this point. And transgender rights, Palistine ect “are” important to party members. The electorate in general won’t be voting at the moment. When that happens I’m sure the tone will change, if it doesn’t then binners criticism becomes more relevant.

Wind it in haggis, this thread was a bit of fun before you showed up. Ride your e-bike and have fun, but stop being so defensive 👍

I can’t stress enough how hard that sprint is if it’s steep enough and long enough.

Obviously !! The bike gives you 250w the same as everyone else, the winning margin will be what you can put in yourself. The argument against e-bike racing is whats the point in everyone having a set power to start with. In the end if it’s elite level riders racing the fittest will win in the end, as they always do.

it will turn into a technology race based on who has the most money to spend

    Like most other motorsports then.

Still a longer queue in the non EU passports bit tho

We were all directed to the EU biometric lines at Alicante airport Saturday. We’ll see what happens at the end of the transition period.🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️

Flew out of Cardiff airport to Spain yesterday one step ahead of Dennis. Woke up thus morning to the news people down the road had been evacuated. And if the Taff had risen a couple of more inches we would have been flooded 😟😟. Rivers going down now so hopefully we’ve been lucky. 🤞🤞

First shop bought board was 1973ish by 1978 I had a G&S fibreflex team rider. Fantastic board, a mint one came up on ebay. I bid on it for a while but in the end it went for over £400 !! A bit to much for a bit of nostalgia, for me anyway 😁

No it isn’t. Or at least it’s not supposed to be

??? Of course it’s indended to be taken after some study.

    – Life in the United Kingdom: A guide for new residenst” contains all the information that you need to pass the official life in the UK test. You must read and understand the contents of this book in order to prepare for the test.

Studying for the test will both show commitment and educate a person about the UK. I doubt many taking the test resent doing so and would have pride in completing it successfully.

22/24. Although a couple of those were educated guesses. But your score coming into it cold is irrelevant. The intention is to take the test after a period of study, something to show at least a bit of commitment to your new country. I’m sure plenty of other countries have similar tests.
I found the study guide linked to on page one is interesting, if I was looking to settle in the UK it wouldn’t be a chore to read through it.

Neil Hamilton getting elected as an assembly member is between him and his constituents. Perhaps he’s doing a good job and their happy ? I’ve no idea and neither do you I suspect.
This list seems to show he’s not even close to being our most expensive member.

but it seems she thinks she is obligated.

This is were it’s going wrong, she isn’t obligated. And somehow you have to get that through to your wife. If both of you were happy to have him then fine, but as it’s a struggle already things will only get worse, much worse. He needs to be in sheltered accommodation. If there’s none available locally then find somewhere perhaps not so local.

I had the pre geometry update model. Really liked it and it rode well. But it was stiff, compliant isn’t the word I’d use to describe it.

Sometimes whats best for the parents is also best for a child. Yes there is an argument that working through a child’s formative years might not be ideal. But so are financial difficulties, and more importantly IMHO is the parents mental well being, work for many provides not only money but good mental health. If your not strong you can’t be there for your children.

Nope, majority of people will charge overnight at home.

That’s assuming your able to plug your car in when you get home. I haven’t got off road parking nor do many people. Solutions could be found, but it’ll take massive investment in “public” charging points.

100% it’s total c$%p now, shut it down and reopen MG’s thread. This is beyond the pail regardless of the morons on the vide.

Or in other words, how do you know what went on between Daffy and his family to generate those comments?

I don’t, no more than anyone who comments on anything their not directly involved with. But if someone posts something on an open forum it invites discussion. Isn’t that the whole point of this place ??

Therefore, in their minds, he’s a ****, and they voted for Brexit to try to get even with him for making a go of his life.

I doubt that was the case, I’m sure they were brexit supporters irrespective of Daffy. More likely the comments made were an angry reaction to what they felt was Daffy’s patronising lectures about the negatives of the choice they were making.
People can be sensitive, you say something they believe in is stupid it’s hard to not to also imply that they are stupid as well (even if they are) hence the reaction.

Mine came today 31.6/150mm for £89.99. Only a tiny bit of play in mine if you pull on it pretty hard and all nice and smooth with a quick return. It’s replacing the Nukeproof OKLO which was always slow to return but has now moved to a snails pace.
Anothe bonus the OKLO weighs 738gms the brand-x a svelte 604gms. Win, win 😁

I certainly don’t agree with personal attacks, although in the heat of the moment they do happen. Something I’ve done myself and then regreted.
But a link to Brexit anxiety and mental health shouldn’t be a taboo subject. It is real and should be discussed. There’s loads of stuff out there about it. A quote ans the article it was taken from.”

“I think that people who already suffer and are being treated for generalised anxiety disorder or depression find that politics or societal problems worsen their mood and worsen their symptoms.

it’s no different really from popping back to ask for ketchup or something. Maybe Captain Queuing didn’t realise this?

Good point, perhaps he thought I’d grabbed my drink and was going to now try and order food. I did explain that wasn’t the case, but once he’d spoken up it was probably a case of not wanting to back down.
It was a completely minor thing, but as a thoughtful person I was concerned I might have been unintentionally rude.

Your solution was perfect Taxi25, you even contributed to your son’s dental hygiene and general health by not buying him liquid poison in a tin.

Alas I noticed said drink in the “International” food section of my local Sainsbury’s. 👍

I’ve no idea why people are still “demanding” that mooman explain the benefits of brexit. He’s previously given insights into why working class people might have voted for brexit and none of them are based on clever highly researched economic arguments. His comments on this thread purely relate to remainers “reaction” to everything brexit related.
He’s not alone in thinking spme of those reactions aren’t completely healthy, something I as a complete layman tend to agree with.
Ref. What to do with brexit 50p coins ? It’s currency you spend it.

Have to agree with the comments about the Rado not holding its RRP value. But I very rarely sell watches, I buy one’s I like and tend to keep them. I still have a Heur 2000 I bought in the early 80’s. I’ll wear it as it should be worn, and enjoy it. My son can worry about value if he wants to sell it when I’m gone 😉

Strangely I’m listening to it right now 😎. And I don’t even really like jazz, but it’s fitting right in with a rum and cigar moment 🥃🥃
