We bought an 06 2.0 tdci with leather parking sensors 6 x cd etc etc and can say its been the best family car to date. 2 kids 2 large dogs no problem.
Regularly get 48 mpg and very comfortable and surprisingly nimble to drive with the control blade rear suspension.
    Great cars. Go for it!

At work I wash my hands with antibacterial wash after leaving using the "shirt sleeve" technique to open the door as they are quite simply the most disgusting bogs ever, maybe apart from some park toilets, but it's close.

Some bloke in here who must live on real ale and twigs, regularly pebbledashes trap 1 in such a fashion that his shite actually binds to the molecular composition of the porcelain, quite an achievement!!

Evo gave it a surprisingly good write up compared to the Scirocco TSi and Ibiza TD FR with the generl gist that it worked well in all types of driving.

I did 54 miles on Saturday in preperation for the SDW and we made sure that we stopped every 45mins or so and fed and watered ourselves. I get on well with an isotonic drink and those Nutri Grain morning bars.

One absolute must for me before a big ride is to have beans on toast.

    Watches are great.

If I was minted then I would collect them.

The only jewellery a man should wear IMO.

    Good luck everyone!

Did it last year and boy it's tough……!!!

Wouldn't fancy it in the rain, it would be lethal.

Southern shandy drinker here, remember driving torwards it and a big craggy rock came out of the mist and got bigger and bigger for the 45 mins we drove towards it. Welcome to Ingleborough….proper hills!!

My missus has a Staffie, it's been well trained and as above is soft as hell. Loves people and has never started on any other dogs (it lives on the farm with a greyhound, collie and a terrier thing).

Taking it for walks anywhere busy is just a nightmare. She's never caused a problem but loads of other dogs seem to want a pick a fight with her and I'm on edge knowing that if she retalitates the other dog is probably gonna have a bad time. There's also the stigma of having a staffie and people crossing the road etc..

Absolutely agree with this. Other dogs seem to want to have a go, particularly Jack Russells and Westies with their "small man" chip on their shoulders. But the truth is they are people dogs and not aggressive unless they have to be. Ours hates to be rushed by dogs off of the lead but then so did my Border Collie when I was a child…

We also have a 35kg Boxer who is soppy as a sack but when walking with these two all the uneducated cross the road, which is sad really.

Our staffie is now 5 years old and loves the kids to the extent that when we are out walking she will wait for the youngest to catch up. They are known as the "Nanny dog" for a reason and are great companions.

Bit of a bug bear for me at the moment!!!

With all the humid weather where I've been sweating madly and then today with the drizzly rain that soaks you my eyes have been filling with water.

I actually said today to my mate that perhaps I should get vented lenses to sort it out!!!….

And I have red iridium polarized's which are pure class in the sun but in my case not vented…

Nice to meet a fellow Westfield owner on here. Yours sounds nice, can't believe you are selling, I just couldn't do it.

Mines a 205 block rally spec Pinto 175bhp @ the flywheel built in 2006 and I love it, although it's too loud for any trackdays at the moment…..

He did however feel "really down and sad" yesterday.

    Ahhh the notorious nugget comedown!!!

Fair play though to the big lad, he fought the nuggets but ultimately it was in vain. The synthetic breadcrumbs and mechanically recovered chicken were all too much….

It's now time to move on…Bring on the Bakewells!!!

Gunning it down a nice trail quite happily, a **** wasp going in the opposite direction found it's way through a vent in my helmet.

Cue an enormous skidding emergency stop and rapid unclip, followed by launching my helmet across the trail, the little fecker only got me once but given there is no real "meat" on top of your head I reckon I was high on the sting for a couple of hours after…….

Try Bontrager Mud X 2.0, great tyres for all conditions.

I was recommended them by my LBS and have been very impressed.

    Fast rolling, grippy and comfortable.

My C2W Planet X Uncle John has been great and at the time I got full Ultegra for £1k. Not sure the spec is so generous now though.

Did the 3 Peaks, plenty of chain gangs, plenty of local trails and is currently on commuting duties.

I had a True Temper OX Platinum Explosif which was great until I won a Global Ti frame on this very website.

While the Explosif was high end steel, in comparison it still managed to feel quite dull and unresponsive, the Global has the zip of alu, the comfort of steel and the light weight of carbon.

    Oh, and it looks beautiful……

Can vouch for Honda as I have had an 04 CRV for a few years now. We looked at FRV's but with 2 kids and 2 big dogs we needed a biiiiig boot.

Build quality is excellent and everything is over engineered, I liken Honda to the Japanese equivalent of Audi, but more reliable!!

    Go for it!!

    You will not be disappointed.
