“All the NEMBA races especially Bingley and the Boltby Bash; downhill and trials on Saturday and cross country on Sunday, all for £10-£15.”

+ 1 for Nemba at Bingley – Mcroy and Hemming flying down Altar lane at speeds that defied belief!!!

Also tandem riding round town, jez avery with his switzerland squeekers (sic)

Marshalling after getting back from leeds at 4am then having to argue with geriatric dog walkers about walking on the paths!

    happy memories

    France
    England
    Wales
    Ireland
    italy
    Scotland

England over Wales due to one name – Owen Farrell, Lancaster’s making the right noises.

Wales will have hangover from WC and Warbutton is losing leiutenents

Scotland still have to learn that a game is 80mins long – not 70 and Robinson hasn’t shown them where the try line is 😉

As a English (Yorkshire) man, I’m looking forward to the 6N more then the WC!

Edit : annoyed about Lawes – watched him against Leeds last year – bloody ferocious!

aahhhh the memories, happened to me about 20yrs ago whilst riding an orange prestige (remember them?) – had a dramatic momentum cancellation whilst going down alter lane in bingley (got pushed into a drainage ditch and big rock by riding companion)

the frame ended up folding itself at the points on the tubing where the internal butting occured 😯 looked identical to the OP’s pic

I think keith lambert’s still has a photo of it in his workshop!

odd thing was – only had to write off frame – forks, wheels etc all good and true!

cold turkey….I stopped about 7 years ago whilst trying for first child, didn’t tell anyone I was doing it – it was only after a couple of weeks that my wife noticed the change(never smoked at home). Worked for me – although the odd ‘good’ cigar at new year doesn’t go amiss!!

definitely sounds like good dose of sciatica – nerve gets trapped passing, I think, L5 vertebrae. Combination of rest and stretching – Can’t overstate the value of a good sports physio. Don’t get active too soon I was off work for 7 weeks first time round. Ask GP for amitriptyline – nerve pain relief, only take 1 at night but helps with rest and means morning stretches were a bit easier – Good Luck!!

I appreciate that TJ, my point (although badly put) was that in my instance, to keep moving was having a detrimental effect – if the flared discs etc had been picked up earlier then the treatment/management would have been different. Rest has been the most effective ‘medicine’ along with the stretching.

I’ve suffered from back trouble for what seems an eternity – culminating in a dose of sciatica last easter. spent 8 weeks on my back after 1st GP prescribed painkillers and told me to keep moving! – after going private (thanks Mum and Dad) scanned and X rayed that showed flaring of the lower vertebra and deformation trapping the nerve. After this it was a case of finding a good sports physio, plenty of stretches including specific Yoga and Pilates ‘stretches’ which are bloody marvelous. My point would be that GPs are bloody hard work as stated in other posts as they are protecting budgets – get straight to a good sports physio -I pay approx £30 a session as and when – worth its weight in gold
    hope you get sorted!

bought my rc35’s from original stif – always felt like you should knock on the door. Known Brant(Zak) since he had a pink panther fastened to the front of his fisher (cuddly toys on bikes….??)
