Just think, all the above gloom is from just a few hours of one day, & on one little internet community. Now consider the bigger picture, countrywide, day after day.

    Itchy, Muffin…best of luck chaps.

    Hard times.

On a lighter note tonight’s night ride is looking good, as is the weather for my planned trip to Derbyshire on Sat.
    Feel better already.

My 3yr old went a right cropper this morning, right outside the gate at the nursery. Right where parents holding babies / toddlers & assorted bags etc, have enough of a struggle as it is to open the gate.

I offered to go sprinkle some salt, “Oooh no. We arent allowed to in case someone claims for faslling over”. FFS.

    Where’s my Daily Mail ?

    Nice.
Saw the last pic you posted after powder coating.
    Looks a good job.
I’d have gone dark though, I like a stealthy industrial sort of look.

32 x 16 makes you look like a hamster on the road.

Does the web address work if they don’t put the capital “B”‘s in…?

    Grumm’s effort is spot on.

Soma…no offence mate (and I couldn’t do any better) but the grass background makes it look like a packet of Grass Seed…!!!

Cutting down 200yr old trees for the latest fashion in kitchens seems a bit vain to me. They’ll grow back though I guess. In 200 yrs.
Suppose its better than the carbon emitted by cheap laminate mfr.

    What about swimming also…
I try to go once / twice a week & do 50 lengths.
Best later in the evening when its adults only & rope off a couple of lanes.

I used to do a fair bit of running about 10yrs ago. Got pretty decent at it, could do 6 miles in 35 – 38mins, not sure if that’s any good. Did start building up further but its so bloody time consuming. Managed 16 miles once, **** me it nearly killed me. Serious hats off to any marathon runners. Ten years & 4 stone later here I am.
If I remember one thing though, don’t run every day. Give your muscles time to repair.

Just done a tubeless conversion on mine.
    X719s with Michellin 2.2 DTC All-Mountain tyres.
Bought 2 Schwalbe 20″ tubes with the threaded valve stems & a small bottle of JustRiding Along wheel milk.
Slit along centre of tube, stick valve through rim hole & secure with collar, stretch tube around rim allowing it to fold over each side.
    Put tyres back on.
Loads & loads of soapy water around tyre bead.
    Remove valve core.
Pump up QUICKLY while pressing tyre against rim at valve point to help seal.
Once some air is in continue pumping QUICKLY until you’re completely fecked.
Remove pump. Turn wheel 30 deg.
    Add 50ml wheel milk.
    Re-insert valve core.
Keeping valve at 9pm / 3pm so liquid is in bottom tyre pump again QUICKLY, pressing tyre against rim to help seal.
Give wheel a good sloshing round so the milk starts to seal. You’ll hear the air leaks start to go quiet. You’ll also notice wheel milk leeching out from various points all over the tyre.
    Eventually it will seal completely.

Did both of mine last week & both are still rock hard.
Pressing tyre against rim at valve point seems to be the key.

I’d go for a 2 mode for the helmet.

I have mine on a Xen but use the Fenix LockBlock around one of the horizontal bars on the helmet. Dont find the weight an issue at all.

Easy enough to do. What are you spraying over ?
Bare metal will need some primer.
If you can find a nice warm airing cupboard to put it in afterwards for a couple of weeks it will be nice & hard. A cold garage at this time of year isnt the best place. Will take weeks to harden properly.
Its not going to be as durable as powder coat / stove enamel, but certainly durable enough.
If your after a nice shine then add a good few coats of lacquer after the colour. Then gently rub down main areas with 1200 grade & T-Cut to a nice shine.

    Daft idea.
Country, & in fact most of the developed world, is just going through a re-alignment after a period of excess/imbalance.
Throwing cash at banks still paying execs million pound salaries will not free the system up. FFS.
Things will settle down, but a we’ve got a hell of a storm to ride out till it does.
Cash would be better spent improving infrastructure / green transport etc for when things do pick up. Take the time to put some longer term measures in place.
    Good luck chaps.

I was quoted £120 once for TIN coating some chainrings.
Would you not need to remove the plating from them first…?
Sounds a bit tarty but would look spot on.

Only problem with the Verso is stashing the stupid beam thing away when using the 6th/7th seats. Right pain in the ass trying to get it into the hole in the floor.

    And its very very nice.
    Highly recommended.

    Glad you love it.
I reckoned they were the bargain of the century at that price.
I’d debated selling my 04 SWorks Enduro to get one, but couldn’t afford it.
Imagine how much fun it would be in the Alps…!!!

Relax, pick your line & let the bike do its job. Dont try to "over-control" it. And play with your re-bound damping, I found it better a bit slower.

Apparently its easier LE to Jo’G than Jo’G to LE.
    Dont know why.
Brother-in-laws mate did it a couple of years ago.
    He wasn’t terribly fit & rode a semi-slick shod cheap(ish) mtb.
Took him just under 2 weeks.

Straight swap for condensing boiler should set you back about £1000 – £1200.
Combi conversion probably £1200 – £1400 due to running gas pipe to airing cupboard.

See those sheep, they’re special mountain sheep born with two legs longer than the other so they don’t roll down the hill.

What if they come down off the hill though…

Well they lean over to one side obviously

This is the yarn I spun a somewhat dim girlfriend some years ago.
