Bear – you tried veruka socks as an alternative to plastic bags, that was my first attempt at waterproof socks when I was a nipper.

Bought some endura MT500 overshoes today and some Endura Dexter gloves – both apparently had really god reviews. Found the shoes really warming but putting your feet down while waiting for the mrs cooled them down very quickly! Gloves were crap so will try them with a secondary pair tomorrow.

I took 30hours to pass with BSM and definately recommend them. My other half has been learning to drive and ton’s son went with a local instructor who was crap she’s now with BSM who are so much better. Are you able to get insured on your folks car? If they have a similar car to what you would potentially be learning in t’s a cheper way to learn. Basically get them to sit next t you while you drive round loads and get the an instructir to iron out the bad habits and concentrate on manouveres. Prices with BSM seem to vary but if you block by 10 hours i think is £200 where as a single lesson is something like £22, the perks of blocks buying is that after that the hourly rate will be at the redced rate. Test day is about £100 all in. [including 2 hours of instructors time]

it seems as though there are two issues here tbh, one that someone took something out of the trolley which whether you have paid for it or not is bad manners. The second being the whole ‘I don’t speak english’ which if you’re a resident which annoys me as people come over here to reap benefits but don’t learn the lingo, same can be said for brits who go abroad though but annoys the hell out of me when people don’t atleast try when they are in another nation

Yeah I agree crustychris on the legs front. ladies tights sound greatsnakebite but think the mrs would hav something to say… where does this stop, shall I try on a bra too to keep my nips warm?! Buying some dhb bib tights for my legs, had a fair few people rate the merstons given their fit and price so hopefully that’ll do. By the time I’ve sorted all this though the awesome weather will be back!

Sorry for not replying sooner, had trouble accessing as well as the current goings on. New shoes are out. I have four pairs of disco slippers/skate types kicking around so would rather sort out the internal where possible. In this weather I normally wear thin but tigtly knitted trainer socks with regukar riding socks which have up til now been sufficient, it may be the alcohol in the blood stream making the situation worse but barely drunk enough really. I will have a look at millets or somewhere like that to see if I can find some better socks and try that first…. hopefully it’ll warm up in the mean time. We can live in hope eh!

I used to live in Carmarthenshire but only ride around there when visiting families. The Doethie trails are awesome, I think part of a killer loop features in the latest MBR or STW but can’t remember which. Brechfa is also pretty good, trails centre there is good but theres loads of proper riding to be had all around the area.

Just walk naked around the house and ask for a hug… they’ll stay in their own room for the rest of the stay guaranteed!
