I just ate a lovely egg mayo sarnie and am sharing an office with two others wotht he heating on. I’m not going home ’til I make some eyes water…

I threw Pam in at the deep end and took her around Cann Woods in Plymouth for her first ride.. she did get the cyclepath from the car to the start of the downhil track and then she papped herself. I had a bruise on my arm for 2 days but it was worth it to see her face when she was doing a drop off. I’ve not done anything as technical as that with her since just singletrack and cycle paths which she loves doing. if she doesn’t enjoy the other stuff there’s no point doing it as misery guts will just sulk and won’t go out with me again!

we’re counting ourselves lucky at the moment. I’m in the contruction industry and we didn’t get a pay rise or xmas bonus… instead we stay on sam pay but leave a couple of hours earlier on a friday.

Muffin & Tim – really sorry to hear that. My family went filed for bankrupcy in the last recession. Cna you not give your bike to a friend? I know it’s technically illegal.. unless you set up an agreement to sell it to him for a pound and then he gives it back after x weeks/months? Things can only get better and hope you can sort things out

Min was doing this a lot recently, removed the front section above the fan and put a hoover over it, seems to be working now and not overheating. Also did a rebuild shortly after bt since adding skype again it’s not been great. Have you added any new programs that could also be linked? Most likely heating though -do you have animals? Fur wraps around the fan and causes mayhem

I get called a sheep sha**er every sunday by my brother in law. I get highly offended and respond by saying his son has my eyes. It is quite bad how words are perceived – a **** is deemed highly racist where as pakistani isn’t, you wouldn’t think twice if someone called you a brit. I think in this day and age anything you think ‘could’ have an alternative meaning should just be avoided if you don’t know the person and how they would react

I used to do a lot of private work a few years ago and spent my evenings talking to clients and working on autocad til about midnight and then up at 6 to go to work. Sunday mornings were riding days and saturdays were more privat work. It took a while for me to realise that lifes too short to save and save and I would rather enjoy myself. Sometimes you just need some cash and sometime you just want some time. If you’ve got the opportunity to vary it it’s definaetly worth doing at times

I think you need to try as many demo bikes as you can in both hardtail and full sus but if you cna ride friends bikes as well that’ll make a big difference. My confidence and capability on prince albert with pikes was a lot better than a trek fuel but then I really like the FSR stumpy then when for a Kinesis maxlight. All over the place but now with something I really like and it likes me! Dn’t know if there is such a thing as the perfect bike but definately agree with previous statement that multiple bikes is the way frward. Unfortunately I’m no longer a student and don’t have the time or money to ride and own 7 bikes, happy days…

I’ve only had full sus for downhill and in later years had a hardcore hardtail for downhill. Demo xc steeds several times but just don’t find them as fun. Unless you’re old and ride lazily hardtails are so much more fun.

Just jack it up and rotate the wheels. If it is the caliper you want to get on that before the alloy welds itself to the hub. Had this on mates beemer and took ages with smacking it with plastic mallet before it finally gave way. Changing a caliper is easy enough if you have the tools as Lootenant said. It’s rebleeding thats more difficult

Have you had the balancing re-checked? Had a scoot through and couldn’t see if they’re new tyres? A weight coul’ve come off or if you done more than a 1000miles on the tyres the balancing is more than likely going to start going out. You hit any pot holes recently? Got to kwik fit or somewhere like that and get your tracking checked on all 4 wheels. My money’s on one of these. If your brake is sticking you’ll be burning through fuel too. Onn a stright section of road if you put your foot down does the car veer?

Nothing wrong with farting. Keeps the bed warm and putting the duvet over the mrs head and letting rip makes her get her arse out of bed and into the shower so as not to be late for work.. erm.. or so ‘they’ tell me!

I’ve got this Indesit and had a about a year. Quite impressed with it… it washes clothes at a variety of temperatures and has loads of setting I will never use!

I’ve had a ‘finances’ evening. Decided to go to San Francisco and Vegas in a few months with some friends and going through everythign cutting back where I can etc and getting stuff on here and fleabay. A pint of pedigree has lasted me ages – its unheard of!

Service your forks regularly to avoid any internal problems. Most forks are piece of p*ss to service whether it’s changing the oil or changing seals. You don’t need to go to flooks or mojo for these as you can do it just as well with a little trial and error.

More trails are in the pipe line but man power and weather means that is has been slightly lacking. The problem is PH1 that accidents do happen and the the general public and in the past cyclists have hit walkers/dogs etc which has been a major headache to the rangers. Annoying for you but in all honesty it’s better than being slapped with a law suit as that’s what you could end up with if you deviate from their signs/advice. Equally though the signs say no horses or walker on the advance route and they still go up there.. I do take pride in telling them this especially when they’ve told me that a certian area isn’t for cycling on!

yes I suffer from this. Yesterday I had a massive chilli and chips and a tin of peaches. 2 hours later I’m eating 3/4s of a vienetta, a bananas and satsuma. Could be post ride hunger… could be worms!

twice a week, both on sundays. Can go on turbo trianer provided it’s not my turn to make food and done chores otherwise the mrs cracks the whip. Can only ride twice on the weekend provided once is with the mrs
