    Take a cushion.
Brake in as late as possible and in a straight line and never in the corner
You only need to brake on 90 degree or more corners the rest just let off on the gas that way you also reduce the risk of locking up
When you're just behind someone on an exit of a corner try and clip the rear corner of their kart [works better in the wet and amrshall may not notice]. preferably on the last lap when you've been trying to apss someone for 18 laps leaving you to take the win and he then ends up 9th

Go look at the Secure By Design website. It's the police website that us architcets use. There's a specification section that shows the secure ones. Not all of them are that great. A slightly modifed timber shed is more secure.

Simon – do you put it on a heavily soiled wash too?

    Taff

After yesterdays ride I had to rinse them off. The mud tends to clump together and block the waste pipe but also not all the little bits of crap get rinsed out in the fuirst wash so your second wash containing your tighty whiteys will have little bits of dirt and leaves on it.

One middleburn chainring has lasted longer than three shimano rings. Not tried the deore steel so can't comment on a comparison there. Never had any shifting or chainsuck issues

I suffer after 2.5-3 hours and it's a salt deficiency and a lack of rehydration. Upped my salt intake (I never added any when cooking) and I also try to drink more. Been pretty good since. Also use torq energy gels as they're the only ones I've found that help

Just been talking to the mrs and her mum and they said there weren't any Americans there. Apparently some Argies had an americanised english if that makes any difference.

Captain Flasheart – they're asking if you're from there or if not who do you know?

Were you pulling on the brake levers quite a bit on the downhills? That can cause a lot of pain all the way up the arm and cause arm pump – try middle finger braking for that and get a stress ball to exercise those muscles. Did you also stretch before starting?

Annoying that so many peole have joined that group about 'You're in our Country so speak our language' how many of those morons live in Wales, Scotland or Ireland and are unable to speak the native language?

What's wrong with that? The majority of people here can speak English of sorts, perhaps not fluent but at least they try and it's only by trying that they will improve. If you go abroad you wouldn't be naive enough to think that you can just talk English and get away with it. No, you would try and speak their language plus it's the polite thing to do.

Or perhaps you're saying that all those English people who have moved to Wales should learn Welsh? Or thiose that have gone to Cornwall should learn Cornish?

My mate left his bike dirty and wet for a month which meant that he went single speed for a while he was slower than me in general riding but he's got a new bike now with gears and he is flying

I have f80s with 100mm travel. Last mbr has a how to. Relatively simple. If it shouldnt be done because it's unsafe then fox shouldn't be showing it can be done at all… Well that's my thinking at least

Try the boot light first. Have you got an amp meter? If so connect it to the battery and check the readings and remove each fuse one at a time til you find a suspect

I had a look and for me I'll be going to Dover despite living in Portsmouth. The channel tunnel is 49 to go out and 69 to come back. That's 200 cheaper than the ferry from Portsmouth and depending on traffic is about the same time or possible less. Off to south of France and travel times are the same from both ports

you can do it but the same as a frame the prep is they key. Just be careful not to get anything in the seats were the dust seals sit. In my honest opinion though, ubles you have some of the stuff already then for the 30 odd spondoolies that Argos charge get them to do it but you need to be confident with stripping your forks down and rebuilding them. I think a friend had eith Mojo or TF do a package but they just sent the stuff to Argos so there was an additonal cost on top of their service etc

I don't find it any different from buying stuff on eBay and selling on for a profit. My mrs used to buy a lot of goods of eBay especially stuff with no pictures – she made a grand one month on top of her normal salary. I have done the same in the past with stuff on here too, at the end of the day you've got to look after number one

Not read through all the reposnse but the chunnel are doing some cheap prices at the moment. I'm off to France in a few months and started doing some research. Chunnel is 50 each way and ferry was about 300 all in [but that was a few weeks ago].

If you do go from Portsmouth there'sa travelodge right next to the ferry Port. Would say you could crash at mine but think the mrs would kill me if I started opening the hosue to strangers!

At those price you can't knock them and if you do then you're a fool. I'm tempted on geting one if I can convince the new work to do the cycle to work then I'll keep my frame and a few select bits and have a bike that will finally be decent.

Going riding Satursday so I can spend the dayu together. Going to make a lamb roast in the evening with a nice bottle of red. For the day… I'm thinking about either a walk around Arundel or perhaps a cycle [scoping the place out on saturday. Kind of debating too whether after 6 years to the day I should finally get down on one knee.

I used to love it and used to spend hours as a kid attempting to copy the toons.

I used to read MBUK every now and again but a few articles were published with a fair few fibs in so decided against it. Plus it was never that well written.

Ask the shop not to build byut give you all teh aprts in their boxes. Sell them like that. You probably won't get waht you have paid for it though. Is it really worth selling it though? Can other steps not be taken?

The Raleigh ones that go up to the ceiling joists are sold by Aldi. Same ones but cheaper and are half the price.

i've not ridden down that far but I agree, wherever there have been tractors or horses the trails are churned to much but we get the blame.

Its coming loose because you haven't tightened it up properly, you've just used your fingers

Shoul've been clear. I used to use cone spanners but even then they still come loose. It's not just me who has this problem, a lot of people have said about this as I thought it was just me

    Taff

I always have difficulty with my xt hub. Is it loose as mine comes loose no matter how much I tighten it. I just tighten the cone up to about where it's need, tighten the lock ut by fingers and the the QR do it's job. Worked for past couple of years fine
