I was gutted I couldn't make it but given the weather in Kent this morning I'm glad I didn't go. Will do the next one on Chi though.

I don't live there now but Cann Woods in Plymouth used to have this singletrack section that you only ride when you're heading back to the car. Quite an open space with sparce trees but was covered in bluebells. There used to be a monster double that made for some awesome photos with the bluebells in the background

I prefer built in as it looks neater. I don't like the fact that food, forks, spatulas etc can fall down the back or side

I went from having a trials bike, bmx, down hill bike, xc bike and street bike to just an xc bike. You miss the perks of having multiple bikes / options but you improve skills on a single bike. I mainly wanted a single ride as I couldn't afford to pimp them all as I don't like standard bikes

At that age I would change for a new frame just for safety sake incase of alloy fatigue. I'm in the same predicament but it's more the wheels, forks and brakes that are ancient. My frame is pretty good so i'm going to get a Boardman pro from halfrauds and rop the nice bits and build a decent bike that can then be sold on and hopefully not lose out too much

I use fenwicks for the general cleaning and used to swear by Park Chainbrite for the chain but I've since discovered Muc Off chain cleaner and now swear by that instead!

I had a front disc that had lighting bolts and oakley symbols. My friends, after a long night out, decided it would make a good burn/tattoo. He only did that once…

My mrs best not see this post. Shell start welling up at the thought of having to get rid of a pet. Shame you're not closer.

Used one to strengthen fore arms and help reduce arm pump on the downhill tracks

Yeah if you're at home then I'll sit down whether having a piss or dropping the kids off as I can catch up on the latest Dirt, MBR or STW. At work I'm in too much of a rush for a sit down

I don't like the British anthem. Sounds like it was written on a rainy summers day. I don't like the scottish anthem but love ours but think it has a lot to do with pride

The mrs got told by her doctor that while you can relax your bladder more when you're sitting down you can't empty it properly and that's why woman have more UTIs than men. Don't know how true that is.

I used to commute 10 miles to work and there's one long road in Portsmouth where the road is only narrow enough for a car and bike. The amount of times I got clipped because people didn't have a clue. Used to get really narked and hit one persons car after they did it twice. Can't avoid the worktime mood but I could ride along the coast line and up some quieter roads to go home. Took longer but I could swItch off.

On a funnier note my director had pannier and a plastic spike painted to look like metal with a small sign the said something like acme paint scratcher… He never had problems. Rather ironicthough that he apparently hit a cyclist whilst driving one day!!

Oh yes. Something I've been looking for for years was the J R Hartley book. Like gold dust and don't have that sort of money at the moment

Bassspine – is that a frog eye sprite? If so that was one of my Dads first cars.

Got my old man B and Q vouchers last year as he was rebuilding his workshop and wanted bits. They kept him happy so I obliged. Year before I got him a digital photo frame and put loads of family photos – past and present. One of the best present I've ever given I think… only took 27 years!

Think he must've meant 80ft! The news this morning was speculating that Easter Island, Australia, Japan, Hawaii and Chille may be affected although there might not be any affect at all

I'm hoping it doesn't hit chile. My girlfriends family are from concepcion and were only just starting to hear from them

leave it. Do not switch it on. Someone said something te other day about leaving electrical items like this in some rice as the rice apparently draws moisture out.

I get this. The silicone will be fne on the seals but may interact with the fluid probably not worth it. Whe n you serviced then and replaced the seals did you wipe some fluid around the rings before re-inserting? Do you have a plastic filler piece that you can use instead of pads? If so put in an oil bath of fluid and pump [plastic piece will stops pistons popping]. May help but can't guarantee

re-read your post, you don't like the lighter versions of the icons? That's a mission to change asyou would need to go through and change all the icons in settings. You will get used to it I promise!!

if you still have your old version you can migrate your settings and then import them into the new one and you can keep old task bars etc.

Heading to kingley vale / sdw tomorrow but last week was horrendous. Don't think it will be any better tomorrow mind. As said above hindhead may be a good shout. Did a fair few miles there the week and found a few spots that could almost be described as fast!!

Id never thought of doing that but the prices online for new are ridiculous. I've got to start wearing glasses full time and I'm starting to misjudge small boulders

Andrew – is your fluid seepage coming from the diapragm? Both my pairs leaked badly and I thought they're time had come. Turned out it was the diaphragm and my spares were slightly dirty and they still allowed some seepage. Bought some new ones and no problems since.

Thanks Andrew, I had the same in the back of my mind. Think there's a small difference between the calipers themselves anyway but wasn't sure. They are very reliable brakes but I wouldn't go to the lengths of buying new disks, seals and pads for the again. When these are done they will get retired… since they have done about 9 years of hard service

I'm using Srams and can't really fault them. As long as IU keep it clean and well maintained I get over a thousand miles out of it but then I like to change it before then so I know it's not stretching too much and forcing me to buy a completely new drivetrain.

You do need an inbetween size with kinesis. My medium needed a lot of component swapping to get it right but the large was just going to be a farm gate

Went on sdw last weekend. For the first time in a long while I had to machine wash my spuds too. Also had to get undressed in my shed

I've bought a few over the years. As long as you ask the right questions then that should cover all eventualities.

really good but set up your playlists well if you go for a smaller capacity one.
