The netries were lacking this time because of the football apparently. I spoke to the Wiggle guy when I finished and next year they are putting on an additional 5 events.

Were you wearing a STW jersey by any chance and stopped on a fork in the tracks at one point?

only did the 25 miler as not been on the bike for a while. Quite chuffed with having the fastest time in standard… even though it's not a race

Southampton is full of scummers. Pompey is full of people haters. Havant, Chi, petersfield etc are all ok areas.

Singletrackmind – didn't realise you were doing the event. Would have been nice to put a face to the name

4 panels 5 posts out with the old in with the new 3.5hours. If you're digging out the old concrete then don't use those holes again otherwise you will end up using loads of ballast. If you're on your own use some timber to hold the posts in place while compacting the concrete

I've got two pairs of dale ones from crc which are comfy, some endura ones which are awesome in the heat for wicking away sweat and then I have some fox and wales sock guy ones which are really comfortable especially if you have to walk in spds

I've been riding for about the same length of time and got my first one a couple of weekends ago on the SDW. I just pi led it out as it didn't have any an exploded body at that point so presumed the head wasn't to buried. Yank.

We used to use aseline on the dogs… Covering the ticks. That way they suffocated an came detached. Worked every time

If you get them after signing up with TPS then if you do get a call then ask how they got your number. If you sign up with that they should not be ringing you. As said above though it can't stop overseas calling. I had an Indian call four times in one day and I got p****d off in the end, I've got to admit I flew off the handle when they called at 3.30am.

If you don't want to pay a lot then look in Asda. We bought a four person one two years ago for the festivals and it's more waterproof and better made than similar ones friends have had that cost 4x the price or more.

Make sure you layer it well ie fill the ceiling rafters with 100mm insulation then another 200-250mm perpendicular to the rafters

For me to drive a fiesta it was £2k and that was a 1 litre. I got a 306 1.9TD and went with Tesco for £1k. Then went to ecarinsurance the following year and paid £500.

Don't use the go compare stuff they are rubbish. Go straight to the insurance compnay, get an online quote then ring them up and play each other off for more discounts.

I had a BBQ over the weekend and had a side salad for veggies. I never cater for other people. If others are coming and they have a special diet then bring your own food!

Isn't there a maximum knife blade size now and limitations on when you can be carrying them? I think it it's 3'' but I may be wrong. That was the excuse my old man gave me when I was younger. I had a fair few knives from the age of 7 although they were never that sharp until my grandfather taught me to sharpen the kitchen knives on a stone… mine followed… I cut myself! Ha. Still got them and every now and agai. Will still use ten to make wood whistles for my nephews

I had the same with my Aztecs but that was years ago on some old m4s. Put it down to using the brakes too much on a dh run bit apparently their just not that good

Is that meant to be ridden off road. Is it wrong that I like returning home with a few bramble marks? It's like a mellow alternative to a worthwhile crash

In the process of buying new tyres myself and have wiggle vouchers to spend but not much choice. I'm leaning towards the fire xc pros but I'm also quite keen on razers. My brother in law has used them and loved them. He's also suggested race kings on the rear. With something like the fire or mud x up front

I was out in Brechfa on the weekend and started riding at 8. Saw the first rider at 11 and then a few more down at the Drop Off bus.

Left Pompey to visit family back in West Wales waiting for the rain to ease off add can then go for a spin around Brechfa or Cwm Berwyn

Alternatively there's several places that do demo bikes that you could possibly wangle if it's for a short period

I don't know if there's anywhere closer but I believe Cyclemart near Lampeter used to do bike hire. The original owner has sold it on so I'm not 100% on that. Worth giving them a call though I reckon.

I've got rid of my granny ring as a 22tooth is pointless in my eyes so what I mean is for the others who have done the same, when it comes to setting up the shifters do you set the middle ring up as if it was the granny ring or leave it as standard set up. Stop screws are all adjusted accordingly too before you ask?

I had a bad knee for a stint and discovered one of my cleats had rotated slightly and was making my heel point in towards the chainstays.

If you put something to clamp the free piston and pull the lever is it likely that the piston would move or is it really stuck
