Dickyboy – that looks like a good unit. What battery life are you getting from it?

What's the dx bastid? Looked on deal extreme and googled it but no luck?

this was meat to be the second link

Thanks for pointing me in the direction of the other topic. A useful read. Would have to consider something better than AAA batteries for my riding. If push comes to shove then I may end up having to get a deal extreme all in one set.

I've done bugger all riding this summer, shoudl have done loads but always end up putting the miles in over the winter. Maybe it's because I don't have the freedom to do it as much with the daylight hours I'm not sure but nothing beats a morning ride on a frosty morning and being the first to break the icy puddles. Not as keen on riding in the snow but a 5 mile ride doesn't half get you fit although saying that I do hope it snows like last year. Kept the pikeys off the road during rush hour

I had it on my old street bike and found it fine. Some people have issues but it comes down to set up. If it's just xc use though you can get a dmr chain cage which is just the top bit. I also had a folders manacle and I cut off the bottom section

Aldi was busy in Havant with loads queuing at the bike section. Managed to pick up a long sleeve jersey and the coat – quite chuffed with what I got for the price

From past experience you pay for what you get. For powdercoating a frame I've had it done for 15. Argos cycles I think bake their paint and it's hard as nails and last longer and looks better for 100. Depends how often you like changing tour colour scheme I suppose too! Other peoples experiences vary from mine though

Thanks Clubber [and others] I thought that was the case. I may end up having to bend it if it comes to it then.. will just be wierd doing it on purpose!

I had 5 and 15 with my old boxxers and would mix equal amounts to get around 10. Always worked fine for me.

At the risk of being stoned go to Asda and get their 4 man tent at £29.99. I've had one for 2-3 years no and it's more waterproof than my friends ones that have cost in excess of £100. Also they are simple to put up and down

I was right behind a girl on the drop off and she definately didn't want to do it judging by the shriek! Wasn't expecting the bomb hole on the first lap, I was lookin at the chicken run wondering why it was there

At least you can ride the rest Jon. I had trouble riding anything that wasn't in the downward direction! Really annoyed about my punctures. Reckon I would have done slightly better although the other guys were superfit

There's a website that gives all the actual weighs of the tyres. Bought two fire xc pros and both weigh differently to each other and neither are the same as the weight on the tin

I've got this too and I thought it was my very long front hose hitting my shifter housing. Sorted it last week but still got the click. Hope you find it so you can advise me on another palce to look. My click has carried on from one frame build to another

To be fair I order brake pads quite often from Wiggle and they used to be next day when I was living in Plymouth, I now work next door practically and it takes two days. Maybe the post maybe wiggle but they don't process it as quick as they used to.

If I'm in that much of a hurry then I will get it from the shop or pay for delivery but it's just comparing with what used to be and what is now.

It's always been up to three days it was Wiggle that was always next day delivery but seeing as Wiggle don't seem to have as much stock as they used to perhaps everyone is going to CRC now

Loamy.. oh great! How does the course condition compare with last year? Wasn't it tipping it down? Just been looking at the times from last year and want to know if I should be aiming for a lap every 35-50mins or what.

Got the D5 here and I love it. managed a good eal on it – £300 or so with a tripod. Used the D2 before as well and it does the job just as well but obvioulsy hasn't got all the same features.

I've just entered, lived in the area for a couple of years and meant to do it but had other engagements. Peoples opinions of the course were enough to get me there.

SOunds sticky to me like some dust or something. I had this recently with mine and I ended up replacing the seals as they're cheap. Look at the hope website for servicing brakes and set up. They've got some videos on there that are very good.

Not all of Leigh park or Paulsgroe are bad. I've never had trouble and got friends who live on the port Solent side of pals grove and they have no problems and we both have good neighbours. Every area is going to have it's low points though.

There is good riding around here in all fairness but helps if you have a car. The south downs can make for good riding and there are other spots. Trouble is you need to get in with the locals to show you some trails been here three years now and I've been shown a bit and found some other bits too. I didn't think there were really any hills here in comparison with other places I've lived such as Plymouth and West Wales but I have found some climbs and decents that prove otherwise. Just wish my riding buddy didn't move to Manc today 😥

What I missed a fit blonde… Gutted. Bloke at first feed station was nothing to shout about! 🙄

I may have seen you actually, can't really remember now. Went through the field about 10ish and the temp gauge on my speedo was saying 27 – it didn't help with motivation!! Quite like the kingley vale area, if I don't do Are you Tough Enough next weekend I may do some more riding in thy area
