Don’t think TJ is trotting out usual spiel. I’ve got sintered pads in mine and had them in for years and covered a hell of a mileage. If you’re doing a lot of braking you want to be using sintered and not organic. I used to use organic on my DH bike for better grip and in winter races a set would last day but on the xc bike they would last a season but my sintered are fit and forget.

I think the way in which you brake has an affect on it. My mate used his brakes a lot more than me and he would go through pads, he used sintered as well. He never feathered the brakes they were either jammed on or off.

Not far from my mates place. I wonder if the mrs would let me buy another bike…

Heard about this happening before with Virgin. I would be reasonably fine with my neighbours doing this as I get on with them but only if there was no other alternative and I would want some agreement with Virgin to move in future if there was a requirement ie boundary wall going in or a drive etc as well as some compensation from Virgin.

    Best of luck with it.

Got two local running shops and one will video you , check your pronation and advise you on the correct trainer for you. They’re really good because of their aftersales ie they will let you take the trainer back for a refund / different trainer if you have problems.

I’m using some Nike Shox at the moment but that doesn’t mean that all Nikes will be comfortable for me. I quite like some of the Asics but would rather buy them from an online shop after trying them out in a running shop [check out Next – offers section].

My Nikes aren’t great after 6miles and my feet get quite uncomfortable and I will more than likely end up with blisters but I’ve just got some Karrimor running socks from Sports Direct and they are helping no end

Used to do a lot of fly fishing when I lived in Wales. Don’t do so much of it in Hampshire as the permits are ridiculously expensive

Guy in work has it. Opened his car door and it fell out and the screen is totalled. Cheap to replace though. Other than that he is very impressed with it

Boots have a few good deals on Mach3 type disposables or a sensor excel which comes with 3 blades. Asda were doing a deal on Fusion and I think as a box set too if he needs that many blades

As GW said does he need a proper razor – my blades were more likely to go rusty than blunt

Even though I am a DE shaver I would not recommend a DE razor for a 13 year old.

That could end up very messy.

given the state of my face after my first time I wouldn’t either!

They stopped the ones that gave your actual speed as the chavs were seeing how high they could get them

this is going to start another double edge razor topic!

Think I got rid of the fuzz with a Gillette Sensor. I bought my nephew [same age] a Wilkinson Sword Hydro for the same reason – got rid of the caterpillar fine but the fusion is a ‘good’ razor too

My neighbours have used a clearance company. Pretty much all they did was take a brush cutter to all the growth and then dispose of it. The disposal is the most expensive thing. You tree can’t go to an amenity site if branches are greater than 25mm so may be better to get a skip and a heavy duty chipper

Woke up late as was tired after my neighbour decided to have a fight with some youths. Went and did a 40mile ride on and around the south downs and didn’t feel knackered as much as normal. Came back to a clean house and a roast and about to crack open a Doombar!

I’m in the same boat and asked pretty much the same question. My top tube is shorter and I feel slightly more hunched but the main problem was that my seat angle was well out

    Oh crap is that tonight?!

If it’s going to be hidden then a piece on angle with a decent fixing into the newel and an expanding anchor onto the concrete floor should be fine. You shouldnt needto se resin on the floor unless the concrete is a bit crappy

You cold put a temporary support in for the half landing support strut. The strings will be fixed to the clockwork so it may be worth taking part of the wall down and putting ina temporary support while you remove the wall completely?

Used to see a few of them at dragon downhill races. Occasionally saw them with the head tube still attached to the frame. I used to love the looks but they had some cracking issues

If the bricks are loose then I don’t see either option being perfect. I can’t see how a concrete topping would be man enough if not fixed to the brickwork below anyway ie if you have a railing fixed to a 150deep concrete top then I think with some foce on the future handrail it would just debond itself from the brick coursing. If the coursing below was man enough then you could have put resin anchors directly into the blocks to secure some metal newels and then covered the area with some timber trimmings.

If you want timber newels then maybe getting rid ofthe brickwork altogether is a good idea. You’ll only need 3 newels to support that section of stairs – back edge of half landing, change in pitch and bottom. I would have thought that would’ve been cheaper and tidier and would be my my preferred option if I were doing it

You just want to put in wooden shuttering to form a concrete beam to take some steel brackets for newels? Why don’t you just create a steel frame and resin anchor it into the blockwork? You could plasterboard or put a timber mask over the steel frame? Got to be easier?

My brother in law did exactly the same although brand new. He went back to the shop as they were only a week old and was told it was a common occurance but didn’t get covered under warranty. He went to a mechanic who said helicoiling would be stronger than it was originally but last minute he phoned Mojo who swapped his lowers with some seconds that they had in store – not bad going there I didn’t think.

They do 15% off quite a bit. I keep getting email about them knocking off at least 15% – problem is that is their general price.

is the amazon one actually in stock though? A lot of shops drop the prices when out of stock so to nail over the shops that do price matching but don’t stipulate that it ahs to be in stock. You rung CRC up and asked if they would price match?

Don’t think there’s any long singletrack sections that can match swinley. QECP is ok but you’ll be bored after half hour. There are good areas to ride around Chichester though but you won’t have the hills that you’re used too

Fit a new bottom bracket, build a greenhouse, start planting some veg, mow the lawn, get some riding in and hopefully a whole lot of eating! Apart from the riding a boring weekend but last one at home for 5 weeks

agree with iain, i’ve been done about 3 times in the past and this is the fisrt goodwill gesture i’ve seen and from my POV, they’ve hadnled it pretty well; i’ve used them for the last 5 years and have never had any other problem, and when i have spoken to them, they’ve been nothing but helpful so will continue to use them.

Been using them since ’04 and never had any problems. I’ve been done on a card and never had emails let alone a voucher. Fair play to them I say.

For those who’ve not received a voucher or email I would say get in contact. Have you tried entering your email into the voucher code though to see if you’re eligible?

    A few years ago I had one of these set up, not a sturdy as a full workstand but fine for general tinkering duties. It does get in the way of under the top tube cable routing and is tricky with some suspension designs but it did the job for me until I worked up an alternative;

    http://www.bikecare.co.uk/acc/cyclestands.html

halfords did one similar that folded too. It’s only difficult if you take a wheel out and kick out the centre of balance

My insurance allows the cover of electricals but there’s an excess of £100 on mine. If I claimed for my ps3 then it would cost £100 excess plus two years worth of additional payments on my premium so not worth it for me.
