saw this a while back. I think good on them but in this country they would have probably been hung, drawn and quartered

Did you pay by Paypal? I am doing payments for CRC, Wiggle and Stif using paypal and found them to be a day longer in processing. Granted I’ve taken the free postage option so have no rights to complain as it’s then 4-5 working day delivery. I did however try a debit card payement with them on thursday and that’s not been processed. I have however had things in the past from them and it still says being processed on the wesbite. Slightly unnerving when the stock list reduces automatically but the order doesn’t!

    DO NOT USE CRC!!!

Be careful. Paypal only in future.

    Bit contradictory there?

I’ve used CRC for years with only this little hicup – with the exception of the hacking their shop and staff have always been good and much better than most LBS’ in my area. Granted I’ve not been scammed for large quantities yet but I’ve now changed the way I online shop

My 1st crit race the other week we had to wait around for a while as a guy turned up with a sleeveless top on and got angry when he was told he couldn’t race with it on

    Why the hell was that?!

Saw this on Matt Pages tweets last night. Going to have a look at his website when I get to a proper computer. Best of luck to him I say

Doesn’t matter whether your equipment is a day olds or a 100years old. Just make sure your line is ok. It becomes brittle with age and you don’t want to hook a fish only for it to break. I’m a fly fisherman when it suits me and have a couple of carbon fibre rods but on the flip side have a split cane and hardy reel (worth more than my bike probably!) and the only difference is the action and weight. I can still catch fish… Sometimes!

Got course fishing stuff kicking about too but don’t enjoy that anymore. Spinning on the dee would be good. As said above you can either get a trout and non-migratory license or a salmon and sewin license.

MF – I think you’re right with the edible carp but didn’t think the stuff we had in Britain was that edible. Dong know if it’s due to the crap we give them or not

I watched that with my pokey neighbour when it first came out on VHS. Watched it again a few weeks ago and it was still pretty good

I’m off out there soon. Find Czech very hard to learn. My brother in law has been stuck out there for almost a year and has picked up the language quite quickly considering he’s an idiot. Seem a fair few Brits in Prague though

Anyone found a website showing it live other than eurosport player? All the ones I can find are in Italian!

I’ve had a few when living in rented accommodation and found them brilliant. Got a henry at the moment so a bit of a downgrade but we’ve been looking at the Vax Pets vacuums which are a 1/3 of the price and built to the same kind of standard with flimsy plastic important bits.

Depends on your abilities as a town planner. My last company had a town planner who dealt all kinds of stuff and got some major schemes through without whom we may have struggled. He did learn autocad though and did a variety of stuff though to earn his keep

17mph for 19.88 miles with man flu was my last effort. No idea on previous efforts but don’t think much better and certainly not over 20. The TTs around my way have riders only doing 23mph on a 10m course so don’t think I’m doing too bad

Aracer – the closest thing to a suit in Pompey is a shell suit!

Moss bros have got good deals on at the moment. Most hire places sell off old stuff too if that’s of help.

I quite like black tie stuff as I like dressing up every now and again. Was meant to have a do next month but not allowed to go now

I had some years ago and they weren’t great-this was about 5-6years ago though and I did ride a little harsher back then. They weren’t that smooth and ultimately snapped at the brace

When on my mtb I alway say hello to roadies and normally get a hello back. Went out on the road bike in baggies and a muddy camelback and they just ignored me – haha

Doubt the architects specced anything. If it were Bellway they are mostly D&B so will have done whatever!

Go to NHBC and make a report, take plenty of pictures. As said probably won’t do anything but worth a try. That is shocking. Think ive got a spec somewhere for fixing bolt on canopies. Will have a look

It’s not that nice in Portsmouth. Found I have a leak in y porch roof so will be fixing that in the morning if the rain holds off. Would have like a bit of damp on the trailsbut with this rain the chalk will be like grease… so will probably be on the road bike

A mate of mine up in north Wales is a roadie and constantly gets abuse. He had some girls in a convertible throw water at him one day, chased them down to some traffic lights and questioned them and they hollered abuse – his response was apparently calm down and then emptied his water bottle in the drivers face. He also had a merc almost run him off the road (he’s had a broken arm from this before) so he caught him up to gave him a ‘stern telling off’ only to have abuse back – he apparently threw the car keys in a hedge. Doesn’t help either side there really.

Had a close encounter on my last road ride but think it was a nervous driver as she looked quite young.

You seen that blokeon YouTube who videos his commute? He’s had death threats the lot.

Take a photo of it in the morning. It should have been held in by more than just screws, probably anchor bolts or similar. At 5 years old it should be covered by NHBC but to be honest it may be easier and quicker for you to sort it.

go with singlespeedstu’s suggestion first. Use the hacksaw the create a slit so you can use a decent sized flat screw driver to undo. If that fails then try and drill the head off.

Had this before too. Think I bodged it with some slivers of a coke can. More than likely the crank tapers gone but I’ve also had a dodgy b/b axle

Depends how you peddle doesn’t it? If you just push down on the pedals like with flats then no, if you pedal through the whole revolution [pushing and pulling] then yes. Couldn’t live without them on the dh or xc bike

No baggies, helmet peaks or camelbacks

Well obviously I looked out of place last week when I went for my first road ride!

Just be careful of traffic, think that’s the only advice you need isn’t it?!
