I have the same brakes as you on my Peloton, I used neat citrus degreaser on the rims and this improved the braking loads but created a major sqeal. Queue on the road washing with ribena from the bottle. Seems to be pretty goood now. I’m still running original brake pads from ’99 but have been told on here that Koolstop Salmon but I hear good revioews about the clarkes triple compunds which are about half the price

MF – don’t know if this will work but there’s some frustration going on

Psychle – I had this arguement with a colleague this morning, Argos have said they won’t accept returns unless faulty and won’t necessarily go with the price drop. I think this is why HP said that some places would do a full refund if you’ve just bopugh and other places would do a partial refund of the difference.

Bedgebury looks awesome, didn’t think the woods was that big initially as a friend owns a wood in Goudhurst which is quite large on map but not in real life. Is it all waymarked?

Wrightyson – yes lots of kids there with their folks and to be fair its a pretty relaxed atmosphere there so you should all enjoy. As with all festivals / large gatherings there are some of that sort but in general never had any major issues. Had a tent trashed last year but been fine other than that in about 4-5years. Just keep any valuables on you as I’ve known people lose money & electronics even when in their tent.

Which leaves you with a dilemma… you’ve just queued for several hours for a shower… do you go in or wait potentially another half hour

Been doing IOW for years, had it once or twice over the years. Also didn’t like a random couple in someone elses tent doing the no pants dance, stealilng their duvet and leaving a used rubber… grim

Could be rotator cuff related, probably a strain. I was quite surprised at the affect damaging one of the muscles had on the operation of the whole shoulder.

A liquid applied damproofing like RIW on the inside will seal the surface and prevent water getting in. Does it have a horizontal DPC anyway? If it were mine I would put some 50×25/38mm timber battens with a DPC between it and the brick and then and then an insulated plasterboard. I seal a single skin brick wall from the front and only down to DPC level.

Only had it once, parked in an Aldi car park which was the only nearby option so had 1.5hours. Was in an interbiew that was 2 hours long and I ended up paying.

I would have rung before making a journey but that’s because I’m tight and wouldn’t risk travelling too far. Been trying to help a colleague find a new road bike and visited most bike shops within an hour of Portsmouth and the shops have all been pretty good be fair although only one offered a deal for bike and kit where the others didn’t budge on RRPs

I would allow a 25mm gap between the boarding and the insulation so that you have a free space for air movement. If shiplap then I don’t see any need for a membrane behind but if feater edge then it would be adviseable.

Can’t remember off hand which insualtion code is which but there are three or four that all all the same insulation just different codes. I think it was the general floor one that comes in 30mm or so.. could be worth a pop

I’m looking at the same thing at the moment. So far been looking at:

    Boardman
Trek 2.3Cube attempt – I really like this one
    Scott Speedster

I’ve also looked at the Specilized Allex range and the Focus Cayo. Loads of deals out there at the moment following on from the tour and also the 2011 bikes are on sale as the 2012 bikes are coming out now

It does vary though, depends on competitive labour costs and finishes. Just done one that works out at 17m2 with green oak trusses. Another one that was simpler cost more again

My diagnosis is the knee has collapsed, under the weight of you own awesomeness.

    – Quality!

Is it solid and swollen or liquidy swollen? My knee is liquidy swollen from running… getting it seen to tonight. Thinking bursitis rather than water on the knee. Apparently both stem from tendon/cartilidge issues so get it checked properly sooner rather than later

Not riding but was at a wedding near Banbury last weekend. A taxi cost £12 to travel a mile as we were 10miles from the nearest town so having had to take the mrs back to the hotel as she was ill I decided to walk back to the venue which for the majority had a pacemtb running alongside a wood. Had a bot of a creepy moment when I hear noises in the hedgerow and my torch started flickering, came back on and flashed it in the hedge to see a massive head. Think it was a fox but think the sound of my heart beating in my mouth scared it away… definitely wasn’t my girly scream anyway
