I did look at an SDG I-Fly. Not had an SDG saddle for years [think it was Bel Air] and it was on a DH bike so how comfortable are they for the long haul? Are th clamps better now? Seem to remember people complaining that they never held?
Just seen they get bad reviews for being very uncomfortable.
Seriously? The frame doesn’t fit you. If you feel that the next size of frame is too big, then look at another frame altogether.
When I got it I was happy with it but I have more than one bike now and have since realised that what was fine isn’t as good and needs tweaking. If only it was as easy to just ‘get another frame’
Just posted a similar topic. How much layback you after? My Thomson isn’t enough at 16mm an is as firm as anything. Want something like 30mm with some comfort
I’ve decided today having ridden my brother in laws anthem that I need a bigger bike. I was a lot quicker on his despite mine being flickable on the jumps. Although I may also be using it slightly as an excuse for a 29er too…
If you know Brechfa then yes. My first xc and dh race was in brechfa and it’s awesome. I don’t know where the course is likely to take you but if it’s using a lot of natural trails the. You would be in for a treat.
Finally in Rhydcymerau now. Can hear my bike calling me to go for an early morning spin…
£40 extra seems a fair price to pay for a much safer charger/battery combo.
That was my original dilemma but didn’t want to pay over £30 for a light when I wasn’t sure how I would fare night riding having not done it in over 10 years. Who knew I would love it and accept the rustling in the hedges as a non-scary version of the Blair Witch… I will get safer version off him in the new year I reckon. This will do for now!
Also mine came in a later delivery to the normal post
Rich – did yours say 900lumen on the box too then? Been told I can send it back and get a replacement but they couldn’t sort it out on the live chat function. Seems ok and will probably do although definately needs a flood lense
Khani – did you box say 1200lumen on it? Tempted to say sod it and just use it. May well order another in the future although it may be a Smudge version as not convinced by the battrery pack on this one!
Just waiting for the live chat to come online. I can post back to their warehouse which luckily is in Portsmouth. The weird thing is the chinese instructions make reference to XML-T6 so now I have no idea!!!
Jamie – Has your arrived? Mine got here this morning. Slightly concerned that the box I’ve got states that the light is 900lumens and a SSC instruction manual where as my XML-T6 confirmation email says 1200lumen!! Pretty sure they’ve given me a P7!
It’s just really windy here, little bit of drizzle. So glad I hadn’t planned on going back to the mother land to do some fishing with my Dad on Friday and some riding for the rest of the weekend… I mean that would be madness
I love being outdoors, the technical aspect, speed, getting to fettle with bikes etc. Also like having goals with cycling ie a race, long distance ride etc. Finally nothing better than riding with mates and having a good crack!
I have the endure mt500 and they fit perfectly over my spesh shoes. Use them on the road and off road. Also got another set but don’t use them as they look weird.
I’m not too worried about doing it in 24 hours and think I may have some troubles unless I can educate myself to eat when required and not when Im close to collapse. If I do it I would like some kind evidence as I would do it for charity. I’ll be doing it one way before the year is out so will be getting an idea of the route as that is my primary concern without a GPS.
Not been arrested once. Been told off for riding on pavements and jumping stairs etc but never even fined. Worst incident I’ve had was walking up the street of Plymouth in fancy dress with a couple of friends waving a toy gun and then having the armed police pin me us up against a shop window. Apparently it was not a laughing matter
Depends, don’t really like being at home unless I’m going to be unconscious or I’m highly contagious. If you can’t concetrate on work then there’s no point you being there and you may make mistakes.
You have more control over the bike if it’s on the smaller side of the recommended sizes. I’m in between sizes and opted for the medium rather than large and although there are instances where I wish I had a large mine is fun and flackable. I’ve ridden the large as well and it was a farm gate which was fine for pedalling but rubbish for everything else
