70s – christ I thought it was about 80s!! Spent the past few evenings redcorating my lounge while the mrs is away and in between gloos coats I had time to strip it down. I’ts now a bare frame with the excetion of a stuckk drive side b/b cup. Cant get it out, think I used to use my old mans 500mm adjustable on my old school racers when I was a kid so can’t do much now. Only fault I can find is the slight dent on the top tube and a small bend where the pannier rack mount the rear dropout which is easily sorted.

I’m not putting too much faith in the forks! They look a little dodgy but I’ll check them out when it’s stripped down

Your shoes will play a big part in it. Google pronation and have a look at that and see how you think your feet are. Search what your trainers are for. As said above though it could just be getting used to new routines. I can run 6m but did a 10m one on Sunday and my knees were killing probably because I’m not used to that distance.

I had the doiscounted box offers last week and then cancelled, they straight away came back saying I could have them for 2.99 instead. Nearly went for it but thought do I need them! No, I have Jaffa cakes…

Their chilli crackers are awesome!

We went for the 4th year to support my dad who’s 65 and ran 1hr 27 (a pb). As supporters we thought the atmosphere was great, especially around the start. Can’t comment on the ‘back of the course’ but I thought it was so good I’ve signed up to run it next year!

Good on him and you

Managed a 1:16 but I now need some new skin for the arches of my feet! Don’t get these kind of injuries on a bike!! Well done on your time though. I took some of my energy gels with me. I normally cramp up on the bike if I don’t take them and don’t fancy ending up in a heap shrieking like a girl!

I was racing this weekend too and didn’t find the environment that miserable. Yes a few competitors were shouting for encouragement in certain places but other times the crowd were quite noisy. I suppose it depends how close to a pub it was too. There was constant clapping all the way around. I work at the top end of Portsmouth it there are some awesome areas but also some dives. Had a lot of good times in the city and know what it can be like at a time like the Albert Road festival etc.

How did you guys get on then? Was my first running race in 12years (school) and quite enjoyed it apart from the fact that people in front of me kept getting in my way. Definately think I should’ve done more than 20miles training but I’m going to train for the next event just hope i haven’t caught the running bug!!

Ask the mods, they amy take a judgement of it. Ask for a charity number to prove they are doing this?

Don’t they split (like all Endura items) at the back pretty easily?

I think your foot size depends a lot on how tight they are. I’m an 8.5 so mine aren’t a nightmare to get on. You still have to be careful putting them on as with any overshoe to make sure your toes are fully in before lifting the back up but I’m never had any problems. Had mine for 3 years and they’re still fine

I find anything off road under tree cover etc gives me errors but I did a road race on the weekend and the mileage and ascents/descents were almost spot on. Not going to be as accurate as a proper GPS system

Got endura MT500 and find them brilliant. No chewing of the front and are very warm but you may sweat if it gets a little too warm. Also prefer overshoes in the mud as I can’t always be bothered washing my shoes

It’s frustrating, we’re both 29 I have 6 years no claims and the other half has 1 years because she has only been driving a year. I’m getting quotes that are half decent now just need to commit to one and hope I don’t have to go through the insurance! Losing my inclusive roadside assistance is the biggest pain though

It’s only a report. It would help get rid of crap staff at our place. One has sued her previous employers on several occasions despite her actually being quite s***

Devient – was this after the first uphill near the BBQ area ie the new down hill section from the fire road to the existing single track along the A3. If so there were a few bits over those on Sunday which I moved

If its a sh** bmx then use a hacksaw and cut the steerer and the bb off. Glue ur all back together using cardboard and leave it out in the open for when they return. Watch CCTV and laugh as it collapses impaling them in a bloody mass…

Crapper about through gs but like you I would have presumed a secure lock up

Large -that was similar for me when I was looking at a panda. It’s crazy as I bought a 2l 306 turbo diesel and then insured it for a grand! I’m now getting some ebtter quotes although more than last year are better at about 600 with companies like first direct. Still got NFU to go but that’s a phone call which I need to do at some point tonight.

Depends what you want. You can ring up a fair few firms and ask if they do extensions but some may say that they don’t do small schemes like this for financial reasons. In which case ask if any of their staff do any private work on the side. That’s how I get about 40% of my private jobs with the rest through word of mouth

Or for £6.11 less he could get someone else to do it and have it ready to for the weekend.

It would have arrived by Wednesday if ordered by 2pm and is 20minutes worth of work. if you’re competent then I’d get he tools and that way you’re done. Forgot about cnoe spanner prices though!! 🙄

8 weeks is the norm. My father in law was given a 6 week old kitten a few months ago and it dies within a week. I think 8-10 weeks for any animal

If it’s only a quote then:
Freehub body @ £24.99
Lockring Tool@ £5.37
Chainwhip @£8.99
Adjustable @ £6.76
Total = £46.11.

It’s only a few minutes work to take it all apart, put new grease and put the bearings back in.

Yes hang it from the wall. Mine it outside on a wall and is fine if a little low.

I’m happy to lend my bikes to certain people on a ‘you brake it you mend it’ approach but I don’t like borrowing other peoples bikes as I’m worried about doing something major

I know factors are changing and costs are generally escalating but one person in work is already contemplating giving up his car which in architecture is never a good thing.

Gone onto Meerkats site and have a few good deals on there although still more expensive than what I’m paying now. Don’t really trust people like Octogon insurance especially when they only get 1.4 out of 5 in the reviews!

Re the garage it was something an insurance broker pointed out. He thought it was something to do with thieves braking in and being able to work on the car without being seen. It was cheaper for my workmate to insure his car on the drive rather than the garage

Rode there today after doing SDW. Was nice to ride the orange in daylight and it seemed really different. Went down for first time in ages today on the soft loam to the edge of an off camber section and also had my first QE puncture made worse by the fact I got back to the car and lost my computer. Found it again luckily but my legs are struggling this evening!

Area plays a lot with it so does storing it ie if you have the car in a garage it’s more than parking on the street. Ridiculous. May have a look at Martin Lewis’ cost saving exercises …

It’s mixed bag in my work. About half have gone up but by a maximum of about 20%. Going to try NFU when I get my computer back off the other half. Will keep looking around but roadside is all being added on making it expensive too. Doesn’t help I have a chavvy hairdresser wagon
