24 holes? How strong would that be? Only ever had 36 or 32.

I like the looks of the Ringle wheels. Look like better value than the switch/stans but then you are getting authentic stans I suppose. I need to google tubeless set ups. No idea how they work…

I think I may be swaying towards the Stans Crest and Switch combo. Bit more than my budget but I reckon selling my hope xc/717 which is in good condition should claw some money back. Got a ropey old rear XT hub and 717 which could sell for paenuts but may keep me (back in) in her good books!

circa £200. You’re right I can’t afford hope/stans although. My front 717/hope xc is mint so there is potnetial to sell it for decent money afterwards or just get a rear but I still think £190 for a single rear wheel is expensive!

Grate some ginger into a cup and add boiling water. Leave it stand then knock it back. My old man made me drink it when I was a nipper, did the trick for me. Apparently Crabbies isn’t the same…

Went to the next sale this morning. Was using it as an excuse to get some early morning riding in. Would’ve worked too if I hadn’t rested my eyes when I got back. Still will go out at some point, just don’t know whether to go road or mtb

Was getting annoyed when I had in laws coming into the kitchen telling me how to cook, that my timing is off etc. things were on the up though when asking mother in law what she used to have when living in chile – apparently she was quite partial to a spit roast. Nearly spat my bacon and sprouts all over her!

These are lizard skins. Seem decent enough but I remember them being a faff before. Know what you mean about the inside of the Fox’s, quite a common issue

I thought I was spending a lot at £150! Now I realise I’m obviously tight!

I will be able to make this now the start time has been pushed back. taff, you live near havant iirc? So do I so maybe we could sort out a car share (happy for it to be mine)

Yeah I live ‘between Havant and Rowland Castle’. Car share sounds good – thanks for that. Don’t mind who drives, I’m pretty easy.

I did a long spell on the SDW a couple of weeks ago and it was über gloopy. As much as I would like to do the 100 it won’t be at the moment

11 is fine with me. Give me time to have a shave before I come for the ride. :roll:How long do you reckon we’ll be?

If the OP is doing the upfront consultations then it makes to just go for a drafting service as there are no design requirements as such. Would probably save a grand on costs too

We have an office dooshbag. Things got so annoying in the end the MD just had a word!

Go and talk to planning and they should be able to give you some pre-application advice. Whether they will stick to that come application time is another thing!

Get the planning/survey drawings drawn up and off the back of thosethe building regulation/construction drawings can be done. In terms of structural engineer they would need to confirm the foundations, floor joists and possible roof trusses. Drainage can be done by architect/technician/technologist but would be confirmed by the BCO when on site.

Have some Next ones with a suede exterior and fleece lining. Got laminate floors so they’re a must here for warm feet

Emyr – don’t mind it. Bit of a pain living in England and having to say my name half a dozen times on the phone and then get called Ahmed. I’m Em to a lot of people but introducing myself to some people has been painful when they think I’m saying um as of I’ve forgotten my own name! Uni was spent being called Taff

I don’t get wasted that often. When I get together with my old uni house mates we tend to get lashed and forgot the night before with only credit card receipts to remind us. Drinking socially with other mates I tend to just get merry. Saying that got an office do on Thursday… Director has just given us the Friday off as he said ‘we’re useless on Fridays so hungover we would be a waste of heating’!

29er Keith. I do private work which keeps costs down. If you handle the engineering side I can do the drawings.

Do you know what you want teh extension to look like? That keeps the costs down. Most expensive thing is a survey of your house and then the construction drawing package but if you’re doing stuff yourself then it can be a minimal package.

I didn’t get one from one company as I had only been there a few months. Think you need to prove your worth and loyalty to the company and providing you can then fight for a bonus. I’m hoping for one and it best be pretty decent but I’ve put the hours in this year… Even cut down on STW time at work!

I’ve had a efw issues to too. Mine got narrowed down too turning off wifi to preserve battery life, reinstated wifi and it worked fine after that. That’s on an iphone though

What’s going on with this? Did you guys get together in the end? Were you planning on this ride to be on the 1st or 2nd?

Think mine were from screwfix and were only 30 notes. Damn comfy now broken in but some of my sites are now enforcing the H&S ban on them so have to revert to my cold lace up jobbies-rubbish

My old man sold his 170 which was awesome for a 140. He misses the poke of the 170 but the fuel economy is so much better in the 140. I’m not sure his 170 wasn’t chipped in some way though [main dealer never said it was] but he lost an ST with ease. This may cloud the fuel useage comparison though.

I thought about this before too. Seems like a very good way of getting good parts on a budget although when I started looking at Canyon bikes etc I thought they were equally good value and I wouldn’t be changing everything over just to lose the Baordman frame.

Copperslip for all brake pads and threads where likely to seize

Teflon grease for general use such as my headset and wheel bearings. No longer grease things like my seatpost etc as that comes out when I’m cleaning anyway and then gets sprayed. Would put some grease on the steerer tube under the stem as best I could.

Two years ago one of my sites had a van emptied of tools. A week later they made off with a van as well as the tools. They caught up with tehm luckily witha house full of tools so managed to get everthing back. I hope you manage to get it all back so you don’t have down time waiting for insurance payouts if you’re covered.
