I have endomondo and mapmyride and find the latter very woolly. I also have another app called Bike Hub which is a Garmin type app.

Just had a look at Facebook. Noticed CRC haven’t commented on anything recently. I think they are proper busy and the 10day delays have been over Chrimbo so would have been manic! Trying not to get wound up as I know from my work that Christmas is a build up and recover industry and I’m just being impatient. As long as I get them though, if not they can give me another offer on wheels to make up for it.

No, nothing. How about you? Doubley annoyed now as they’ve not even responded to yesterdays email (normally receive within 12-24hours).

What was in last years race pack? Energy stuff?

Looking at the podium places for last years solos looks like I’ll be going for the enjoyment!!

Do abuot 2-3 hours a week just to build up confidence and so that you don’t forget stuff. More if you can afford it but space it out. We all have bad days even after passing our tests and the last thing you want is a 4 hour block where you may make mistake that has an affect on the lesson.

In all fairness it’s just gone Christmas and every man and his dog are probabbly doing orders so they’re probably hard pressed to meet demands. Just a bit bah-humbug that my order wasn’t done sooner given I asked for priority dispatch and discussed wuickest way of gettting them with a CRC member,

you would think wouldn’t you. Can’t say I’m at all impressed at the moments over practicalties of getting them. If it’s an issue then it should be noted on the product page as not being achievable.

I’m glad I’m not the only one. Spent half of Christmas bickering with the mrs over stupid things. She wants to go for a walk today, suggested three different countryside walks none of which are siutable. I’m worried she’s trying to trick me into going to town.

Just got off the phone to CRC, apparently the wheels are likely to be in a part of the warehouse only accessible by forklift so it may take more than a day to despatch. Even though I’ve asked for 24hours delivery I still won’t get them in time for tomorrow or indeed the Winchester STW ride – grrr. I’ve had all delivery costs refunded though but should still be sent in the same time frame.

I’m always grumpy after a ride if I haven’t eaten within an hour of getting back. I kind of agree with thebikechain though. Bath (i dont fit in mine so shower) will do your legs good but beer/Guinness is amazing as a recovery drink

Got excited when the door went and a postie was outside… Mum has sent me a shoe box!! Grrr

CG – I used to do thiswhen I couldnt access the rainwater gulleys. Just make sure you don’t have massive clump of mud and rinse the manhole down after. Be wary of using rainwater gulleys as you don’t know if they go to a soak way or combined system. You don’t want to add more crap than necessary to a soak away

I’m quite tempted. Brother in law is backing out of MM solo so would like something that I don’t mind going to on my own. Please tell about the tree of doom?

As said above there can be numerous issues for me it’s the muscles surround my lower back. Bit of stretching to keep them in decent condition and that does help.

I was trying to sell 3 guns for my brother in law and it was a nightmare. Found some kid who was into it in the end but best bet is to find a club

Just sent CRC an email to see what they say about deliveries

I’ve paid for delivery by 12pm so they best have been dispatched today for delivery tomorrow. Going to be livid if not as I’ve books morning at home on the proviso that I babysit my nephew.

Can’t believe the price has gone up so much. Must have had plenty of stock at least for them to stay in stock and put the price up

Bought from Currys? My Beko fridge freezer decided to konk out after a week. Got it fixed by curries then it went again. Went back to them and demanded at least 20% off a new alternative FF and I got it with free delivery. Would suggest you try the same if it can’t be fixed.

No, been running a ropey set of 717s since forever without issues. Also used to ride my dh course on them back in the day when I had a DH bike

I’ve been running the same wheels for eyars, never pringled, broken a spoke or gone too far out of true. Mates have had Mavics and local shops have had to order stuff in which has taken a few weeks. I’ll run the risk. I have a years warranty with CRC so I’m happy

Trial and error and personal preference. I prefer the feel of mine slightly back. Depends on the types of bars though ie sweep etc

From a road point of view:
Wiggle French Sportive (if it goes ahead).
Wiggle General Sportives near Goodwood and New Forest

    Mountain Biking:
    Mountain Mayhem or Bontrager 24/12
    Dyfi Enduro
    SDW one way
    SDW double

Will also hope to do some more riding around about, will go back to stay with the family which will mean riding Doethie, Brechfa etc. Hoping to get back down to Plymouth soon and ride Dartmoor again.

I remember someone at the Dragon races doing that and leaving the keys in his coat but taking it off before his run. A mate lent him a claw hammer…

you get adapters for the front wheel but the rear wheel adapters need to be bought, think one of the reviews said 8.99

My rear is nailed anyway so that will get changed hopefully ready for the STW new years ride. I’ve heard about regular tyres being used. Will try it out and see how it goes. Many thanks.

AS an amateur I probably wouldn’t notice the difference between the oils as stated by reboundsuspension but I do prefer Rockoil in comparison to Silkolene. I do have some fox stuff leeft but don’t use it. You can change the oil as often as you like but I would say if you cover a lot of mileage it may be worth changing the oil every 6 months and doing a seal and oil change every year. Change the deal after the crappy winters have passed

Hi Neninja, With the good reviews on here and on the net I found it rude not to buy them. I don’t think they will quite go with my colour scheme but never mind 🙄

Just need to find some tubeless tyres now.

I will apologise in advance though as I think I will be bugging you all about fitting the tyres as I have no idea at the moment despite a 30minute conversation with my brother in law!

Dh – I did look at those but at that width they can’t be far off my old D321s so some of my skinny tyres would be no good. Still really good value for money though.

North wind – at that price I think it’s worth the risk. A blind man would be pleased to see them!

I’m getting conufsed about what’s actually required. Can these be run with a normal tube as well? It comes with some gunk and valves so what else would I need for a tubeless set up?

Wicked. Bit of comfort there. Im’ only just over 10stone myself and not normally a harsh rider so should be ok.

Edit: I may have recently put some weight on.. almost 11 stone! 😯
