Hi Rusty Mac. Left the keys with my mate so will see if he comes around today. He’s not called me yet but he may have been around and just sorted it then again he may not in which case I’m probably going to go mental.

Thanks Totalshell. Not at home but don’t recall hearing the fan. I have a feeling this is the culprit though. Is the fan located at the top either near the flue or within the flue? If so there was a bit of a squeal coming from it after a few hours of use and just before shut down. Only really noticed it late at night when the mrs was using the hot tap and the demand clicked off. Will have a look at those and see what i can make out. Southern Electric did contact me a few weeks ago about their boiler repair program. Think it was about £15 a month of something similar.

Not going to do it in this weather. Don’t really fancy the hour and a bit drive just to ride in the clag. Will wait for the weather to improve and the ground to dry out or as you say if it freezes although doubt we will have a frostd ecent enough to sort this clag out!!

He was in London today and tried gettig back early but got caught in traffic apparently. He’s here first thing so he says. Had gas fire on but house is now so cold it’s not doing much. Got hot water bottles in bed!

That’s well quick considering it’s free post. WIsh I did an order today although pretty sure they were sold out earlier

Do you congratulate him when he brings something in? If not try it, scorn them and they bring more in, they are doing it for you normally

That was actually easier than I thought [providing it stays up]. Going to need to buy my own track pump though I think.

Cool will go and put some sealant in now and see how it fares… may wait until the mrs leaves the kitchen as have a feeling I may have some seepage that she won’t appreciate!

Going to go up there at some point over the next few weeks/months to see what the course is like I reckon.

Right… finally trying to put the tyres on. Got a Panaracer Fire XC Pro which went on with relative ease and I’ve managed to pump it up. As expected from a piddly xc tyre the sidewalls leak like net curtains. Am I right in thinking that the little stans bottle will seal the tyre walls as well as the rim/tyre bead?

I can’t decide what to get and I’m very impatient and want to build my new wheels up. Can get MudXs through Tritonor Cycle Surgery will price match but won’t get either until early next week. Been loking at the Storms as a cheaper alternative sand lcoally sourced as an alternative but can’t find the weight anywhere – anybody know?

I have trouble putting weight on normally. What I did was celebrate Christmas… stopped riding for about 2 weeks, drank beer, ate about 6 boxes of mine pies, Christmas cake, lots of food and sat on my a***. I was almost a stone heavier. Granted a single ride and burnt off most of that but hey was good while it lasted!

I think you can only change the chain once before needing to change the rear cassette. I’ve not long replaced my chain but it was just under advised limit for changing a chain.

    This still going?!

    off unknown people

This is a recurring problem and the only way to sort it is some form of appraisal for items bought. Like ebay or something similar? Even a sticky post at the start where people can comment and give feedback on users, and not a slagging off session that needs the mods attention every 5minutes but something useful for all.

Yeah mine have arrived too. They are now decorating my lounge. Need to get some mud-xs now and will fit those. Seem really good. ONly concern I have is the lack of sealing between the adapters and the bearings. The front ones pull off very easily too.

Depends, had it been installed by shop then it would’ve been their warranty but in this case it’s closed down so that’s a pain in the a***. Same applies for me on ebay as on here. Providing I’m happy with something when it’s sold and it’s in good working order and the description reflects what is being sold if there’s a product issue within 2 minutes of being ridden or 6 years down the line it’s down to the new owner. Personally I would have changed the pawls if changing the freehub as you would expect wear but they may have appeared fine and dandy. Could just be the law of sod. One of the reasons why I get nervous about selling things just in case I get come back but I also get nervous buying things off others. That said I have helped people in the past but it depends on the item sold and the problem that has occurred. In this instance I would probably go halves especially if on the forum as pretty much most of the people on here seem pretty decent and honest.

The manual says Air Flow Fault. My mate was overjoyed to hear about it, he said there would be several things that it could be ie flue fan etc. will just leave it now. Going to work unshaven which is fine but brushing my teeth in cold water is wrong. Thank god for the electric shower!

Used swamp thing today. Taking it off, prefer less grip to that! Very grippy but is sooooo slow

Just put it back up to 1.5bar and no difference. Having taken the cover off it’s not igniting by the looks of things. Will just leave it to my mate I reckon, just hope the boiler will live to fight another day

Pressure had dropped to just below 1bar. I topped it up to just over 1bar but no change. Will go an put some more in and see what it does.

Doesn’t need to be T&G. It can be annoying using that if you ever need to lift a board up ie wiring. Price does seem to have gone up. You will get a 10% discount if you ask at the counter if the t&g is damaged in any way

It was the baby dragon that Merlin rescued a while back. Morgana was dying and the dragon saved her.

Just put a 60a on the rear. Givent he rain today it would have to perform better. Also got a 2.5 slow reezay in the shed but apart from looking ridiculous I think it would be draggy as hell. Will try it out… what’s the worst that could happen

This weather is going to make it lovely for tomorrow. Don’t think my Ignitior is going to cut it. Changing to a swampthing this afternoon I think!

Interesting read. Currently awaiting an order but I do have some swampthings in the shed from my DH day. Awesome tyres in the wet on the downs but can never recall ever riding up a hill with them. Definately never on an xc bike. Wondering iff it will be a better performance than the Maxxis Ignitor I have on the rear at the moment.

I don’t think there’s anything wrong with setting up an individual. At the end of the day it will be up to that individual as to whether or not she persues the relationship. My sister is trying to set my other sister up at the moment as she has a history of chosing losers although she has 2 kids and got caught out with someone she got engaged to so she’s now very cautious . Thing is she may be happy now but she could be happier with mr right.

    This topic however needs a photo… 🙄
