Thanks for the replies. Thought about getting a couple of the DX’s but I don’t really want the wait, and I’ve got a torch I can use as a helmet light.

This is a 3 day delivery.

    UK DX dispatch

I’ve not got a Smudge light but have been tempted to get an extra from him considering that his have the sealing of the batteries, 3 pin socket, 4 modes [rather than 3], egg shell reflector and the fact that he was really helpful. I’ve got a DX one and have had no issues so far. Can waterproof the batteries with a jonny and tape the end up. That’ll keep it waterproof and all safe.

Can’t believe you replied to that!!!

Wonder how many people will buy them up and modify them for their lights…

May have the occasional drink if it’s in the house otherwise not really bothered. Get drunk rice a year with uni mates and that’s it. Is it strange that there’s a box of Stella in my shed that’s not been in there for 3 months and only 2 bottles down?!

I think what ever you decide you will always ask yourself what if you had done the opposite. I saw my grandfather after he passed away and was with my grandmother. Unfortunately those are the last memories I have of them where as it should have been other times. I decuided with my Nana that I wouldn’t go and see her and I would say my farewells at the ceremony. I feel happier with that but it’s a very personal thing.

has anyone bought a bike from Bike-Discount before? Despite saying they could get one to him this week Tredz have just rung to say that they can’t get it. This German shop is a possibility but he can only find reviews from 3 years ago

That shop is awesome. My director was looking at the site for a Cube road bike and it’s coming in about £300 cheaper than UK prices and that’s shipped!

The Superstar ones get mixed reviews but I’ve just been looking around for myself and can get four sets for my E4s for about the same price as a single set everywhere else. Even if I only get 6 months out of each end they’re a bargain.

Went out today for a 30miler. Not an exciting ride but did ride a load of new trails including some in and around Kingley Vale which I’ve ridden through but not stayed within. Found the starts of the downhill tails which I’ve wondered about for a while. Went tubeless this week and this was the first ride… had a puncture within 5 minutes of the house!! Ditched the winter wear too today

    [Crap photo I know]

Tesco and the clubcard points. Currys had a £10 voucher but you can only use it in March on a purchase over £75 (or something along those lines).

MudX was a nightmare to install but I’m all up and running. Not sure if I should put some extra sealant in the fire xc pro as it isn’t a tubeless tyre? Other than that all up and running

My crotch aches too but then realised it was angle. Got a channel in my current MTB one but think with age its deformed hence the need for a change. Will look into that saddle

Brooks B-17 – isn’t that the plastic one? Got one of those in the shed!!

I would advise against swampies on an xc but on a DH bike they are awesome

Just come back from Cycle Surgery with the intention of buying a Storm Control and have walking out with MudX at £12 under RRP. I love LBS’ that price match.

I’m off to a LBS later, will ask to see if they loan saddles and see what they say. Failing that I will ask Hargroves, they’re bound to do something being Spesh dealers.

Gutted for you. All do it though despite saying we don’t

A decent LBS should look at your bare bottom and match accordingly, some will even feel.

You normally have to pay for that kinda action… sounds fun

I’m contemplating a knife as I know I can cope with it. Probably better out there for me but I don’t know what.

Saddles are a very personal choice though

That’s exactly the question, how do you, walking into a shop or shopping on-line choose the saddle you walk away with? Given that a saddle may get some awesome reviews on the net or in a mag that doesn’t mean it will suit your ass. MM you’ve just shown a saddle which is top end price but no guarantee you’re going to like it. Do you lump it?!

Are the ESi chunky grips the silicone ones? If so then tried them and they are awesome. Currently running KCNC foam grips. Good and comfy but quite narrow when using winter gloves. I also like the specialized lock-ons. Very comfy and light

I have whacked the thermostat up for tonight to get some heat back into the walls.

Out of the whole topic and you pick up on how I brush my teeth! Cold water makes the bristles really hard doesn’t it!!

Boiler fixed. Bit of a mission apparently but it was a seized pump or at least part of the pump was seized

Just heard from my mate and he’s popping around tonight after he’s finished work. Hopefully some stella will cover ‘having a look’ just hope the actual repair isn’t too much but we’ll see. He only charged 20 for a service despite it being a mission last time so fingers crossed.

No wind when it went the first time. Was the next day. Yes it attempts to re-light every 4 minutes and hasn’t sparked again but then since then it’s been blowing a fgale constantly.

Charlie Boooooringman did it last year and bailed out, the small documentary following him gave just a teeny insight as to the harshness of the event. It really is an epic.

I like the bloke, think he’s genuine and all round ncie guy from what I’ve seen. Read the book and watched the documentary and hats off tio him for what he managed to do along with his team mates. I think for a lot oft hem they just want to finish but with strict times to get back by you would want to go hell for leather I suppose

Will see if he comes around if not will look at calling them before 8pm for some advice.

Just been having a look at those service plans. Seems quite steep for what you get. Also a few of them ie SE, want to come and check your boiler first so that’s no good. If he doesn’t come may well try the BG number first.
