Yes, some of my friends are trending on the old facebook. The ones who have facebook/twitter is fine but it’s those who only have facebook that I find quite funny

I’m using some from Aldi. They’re brilliant.

he said not too hot! They’re not thick though, real nice. Got some Endura winter ones and they are rubbish in comparison. I love my Aldi ones but they were quite hot this weekend [7 degrees]

Thanks Coatesy, I’ll dismantle tonight and have a gander. I took the lever apart a few weeks ago to clean the bushes etc and the cylinder does pop out a fair bit but not all the way. Will try and blow it oout and see how that goes and get back to you. Many thanks

Went riding today, on routes I’ve never done before and found some awesome singletrack section marked as bridleways. Wouldn’t be able to take a horse there but some stuff was brilliant. Best one was in Kingley Vale and then found some more stuff in West Dean woods. Been on my door step for the three years I’ve been here and never seen them before. Well chuffed

Don’t mind them using green lanes as they’re allowed. Don’t like them going off road in undesgnated areas but I ride undesignated areas too so pot kettle and all that.

Went out for a long ride this morning and was slightly overdressed for the weather. Missed a sign on the SDW and found a long downhill to a pub which was nice. Spent a fair bit of the journey having to push brake pistons back into the caliper as my braker lever had seized so it was quite some going on the ride. Other than that it was an awesome day, weather wise and productivity.

Flight of the Navigator was on this afternoon too so that really completed my SUnday afetrnoon!

Mork – did you head up quite far on the SDW? Saw a yellow bike when going down one of the hills but didn’t pay too much attention. Was near West Dean woods.

Presumably they are the same to fit as normal fox seals. Fitment guide available HERE[/url].

If you’re near Portsmouth then you can bring them around to mine and I’ll do them. Got to do mine this week

Had an awesome ride today. Trying to find new trails at the moment as I tend to ride variations of the same thing. Been following bridleways some of which are turning out to be awesome bits of singletrack, loving it. Trails are drying out nicely and even saw some dust clouds today!

If you’re not worried about the damage then shrug it off. If its an old banger and not worth fixing then why go through the hassle. I would however say report the incident to the police just in case he tries to come back on you

Sorry didn’t mean the axle on the wheel I meant the axle through the jockey wheel. I have destroyed a jockey wheel previously because the top and bottom jockeys wheels have different axles

    Was the axle too short?

I’m sure I saw completely black ones somewhere on CRC too but they might have been the cheaper wheelsets.

I did find that there’s no weight saving between these wheels and my old ones. Bike still weighs a ton!

Hi there, their picture is with the gold hub. The black ones are just a black rim with gold nipples and hub and the gold version was black nipples and hub. I think on that grounds if you weren’t 100% on them you prob should’ve just repackaged. If they were mis-desribed then CRC will listen to them. Best bet is to give them a call. They have awesome customer services and providing everything is all clean they will take them back. AT the end of the day all you’ve done is offer a tyre up, you’ve not put a cassette on and got it all oily etc.

I’ve got the 26″ versions and Bonty tyres and they are really tight and I thought impossible but got them on. Have you got one side on or is it both sides? Get a sponge with some soap water and appply it the the insde face of the tyre. Then just inch the tyre on a bit at a time. My panaracer went on really easily but think the bonty was justa little tight, soapy water did the trick though.

If you’re not 100% though don;t bother, just put the wheels back into the plastic abgs and put it into the CRC box. There’s a parcel plus sticker in there with your ivoice so you can take it to a local shop or put the postage label on and take it to the PO. Just cover up all previous postage labels and put your details on there as a sender and then get a recipt of postage.

I’ve just heard that I became a godfather so the ‘clever-dumb’ balance has been restored!

Clutch cable is a bastard. You managed to sort it?

Halifax offered a real comprehensive quote but you do need to battle them down on costs which they will do. Currently with AA, not as comprehensive but a lot cheaper.

Use to use both many moons ago although I couldn’t drive the fork lift personally. There was constantly damage from the fork lifts and only occasional damage from pump trucks. I think that was mainly due to three os us racing around the factory riding them and the tail ends sliding!!

I had the similar issue on the 306 and it was the droplinks but as said above CV joint is the usual suspect.

I ahve anti-fog solution but don’t really have any issues as such so just clean with windolene before every ride. Only get steaming if I’m hot and very sweaty and then stop.

I’ve not raced offroad for a while but I tended to go steady off the start and pick people as I went. If you’re serious about racing it tends to be a fast start and try and keep it up. I get better with riding up to the four hour mark and then tail off again where as others start fast and finish slow.

Just always remember theres nothing there at night, that isn’t there during the day.

    Only now, its awake.

    And hungry.

    Haha – quality!

Just remember the quicker you ride the harder the thing in the dark has to work to catch up. The one thing I would say is slime tube or tubeless wheels. Try and avoid punctures the best you can as stopping means all the little animals will glare at you.. freaks you right out when your light catches their eyes.

I had a massive gap last year thanks to shin splints. Start small and work your way up. Cycling does bugger all to help running although I feel it does help the other way around. You will improve no doubt anout it but it just takes time to strengthen everything again.

It does seem more sensible to do the midday start as you have 2.5 hours of darkness to contend with against 5.5hours with the torchbearer. Would end up staying with yocal the night before so can be fresh. May well camp the finishing night for ease

It’s my first ever event, so I’m already nervous…

I’m sure you’ll be fine, I only get nervous when I want to get a position [blatently not going to]. Always nerves on a start line and in the initial crowds but it won’t be long until someone is yabbering in your ear and the nerves will go and you’ll remember you’re doing something you enjoy.

Had a few trees down on my local routes but that’s a beast.
