imo having a single child later in life can be difficult for them when time catches up with their parents, however everyone I know who are part of a larger family cope with the inevitable losses far better

Why not adopt a sibling group? The age gap to the 8yr old will be smaller etc

I’ve seen ridges around damage on rams taken off by using a new wet stone along the length of the ram. As using emery may cause more damage.

How bad is the damage? It’s worth giving it a go with epoxy/ nail varnish etc

Might be time to trawl eBay/ gumtree for another ram

use flanged button head bolts instead with the bolt heads inside (M6 or M8)
you could glue or weld the plastic as well to ad more strength. (depends on the type of plastic something like the glue for pipe fitting might work)

consider split ticketing your journey at somewhere like Didcot (you stay on the same train), be careful that your intended train stops at the station where the split is….

In our Note the front seat didn’t fold flat but you could remove the headrest and recline it flat (I don’t think it’s a feature on all models)

Whilst the contractor appears to have messed up, its worth going back to the head of her organisation, the contractual relationship is with them.

Hi Flashes, the dealer I had a problem wasn’t in Bristol….. (i used the one by the M32 for a recall on another car and they were v good)

I never took the fatbike in the Note, but had no problem with a Specialized Enduro with Fox 36 vans, the Note has a very flexible interior only the Jazz was better. The Note was more comfortable than the Jazz which felt harsh on poorly repaired roads (anywhere in the UK!)

we had a Note a company car which did 120 k, it was very good …. however the Nissan main dealer was at best incompetent at worst dishonest.

During the GM era Saab used the GM cars as a starting point and heavily re-engineered them. I work with a guy who has one of the last 95s which is loosely based on a vauxhall insignia, it feels more a competitor for a similar age BMW than one of the major brands like ford.

Has anyone managed to fit a Hamax seat to a deck? highly recommend Polisport Guppy seats as they fix to the deck with a dial clamp (+ a safety strap)

They are easy to remove as well

Yuba mundo is a good option as well 26″ and smaller rear wheels are good for stability

Hub gears work very well, coming to a halt In the wrong gear and trying to set off with a load of kids on the back

Recommend trying before you buy Really Useful Bikes are an excellent shop

If plant maintenance is the problem, the best option is to fake it….

Consider Fake planter with fake hedge, bamboo, laurel etc if the planter is tall say 600 then a fake plant should be able to extend up to 2 -2.5 m

build a big tall about 600mm deep planter and plant a tall bamboo preferably several mature ones about 2m tall that should cover 2,600 of the wall + plant some smaller ones of the same species try a black stemed one. (Consider painting the white pipes black…)

Oldbloke. Not replacing the old classrooms sounds like typical poor planning by the Local authority/ school rather than, being connected to a central government initiative with funding for fsm provision.

South of the border central gov provided funding to expand catering facilities to meet the increased nr of covers at each school.

I’ve seen schools in very deprived areas built at the same time in very different conditions, whilst some have been on their knee others have been old but in vgc, the difference has been the quality of the senior leadership team

Regarding the use of poison gas as a weapon, I spent a lot of time talking to an WW1 veteran and of all the horrors he talked about being gasses was clearly far more distressing.

Whilst all forms of killing are abhorrent this is a particularly cruel and vile method to which there can be no justification.

Of course the Russians would claim lots of the US missiles missed there intended targets, as they were rather touchy that the ones that they fired crashed all over the place….

Just part of the great propaganda game…

The dark humoured joke … buy the victim a bicycle if you want to escape a murder prosecution…. is still true

In any other area of life you’d be subject to the severest of sanctions. Now if the HSE was the prosecuting authority there would be a lot of people behind bars for their behaviour…..

Thankfully for folk where I work, performance and quality are valued far more than attendance. If my team want to spend 10mins an hour poisoning themselves and can still meet their obligations then that’s ok. I’d rather they didn’t vape etc but that’s just because I’d rather they look after themselves etc

Bit off topic but, I’ve just recruited a guy via internal transfer and I’d been informally advised not to take him on as he smokes/vapes. It appears that people perceive that as he takes 10 mins out every hour or so he’s lazy/non productive.

There appears to be prejudice developing against folks who vape etc I’m glad I took the guy on based upon his interview as he’s excellent and works hard to cover the breaks (one of those who commented spends longer in the kitchen each hour)

    Btw I’ve never smoked

+1 for using the right tool..

    however try

(the following is an array formula and needs to be entered Holding control shift enter) when you look at the formula it will have {} at each end

    =INDEX($C$1:$C$17,MATCH(SMALL(((($D$1:$D$17)-A1)^2+(($E$1:$E$17)-B1)^2)^0.5,1),((($D$1:$D$17)-A1)^2+(($E$1:$E$17)-B1)^2)^0.5,0))

    where

A1 – B17 is the track lat and long

    C1 – C17 is the waypoint ref

D1 – E17 is the way point lat and long
