No, but incentivise people to undertake regular training, by increasing insurance premiums after 5yrs which would then ratchet up by 10% per annum afterwards and are reset after completing the training

Wobbliscott I think you should check the validity of your assertion on the volume of nuclear waste created. I’d recommend a visit to Drigg.

I’ve had engineers go out and audit the supply chain in China and repeatedly they’ve returned with ethical issues relating to Health Safety and Environmental. The results have been either actively managing the supply chain or going elsewhere.

There are lots of reasons why it’s a cost efficient place to buy products however the differences in environmental standards and enforcement are one of the reasons for the low costs.

I once sat and watched a Chinook lifting a CH-53… it wasn’t very happy about it but the noise was impressive…..

It’s in the share holders best interest for the company to report honestly, forecast correctly, manage the business professionally, take and manage risks appropriately, meet the companies legal obligations to all parties.

It is not it the best interest of shareholders to fail in the above or to pay large dividends when the performance of the business doesn’t justify it

If they get the above list right then the shareholders investments have been justified and they deserve just reward. The failure here is with the directors of the business.

Despite the headlines professing Armageddon the reality will be a damp squib. If Carillion fail it will just be like the collapse of Jarvis

The folks who are likely to be out of pocket are employees who are let go and anyone left with a part finished construction projects (excluding the PFIs)

    Mefty +1

It’s likely Carillion have sold most of the equity that they had in any PFI deal, most likely that what remains are the hard and soft FM contracts, the administrators would self off various divisions as going concerns…. so the impact on Jo public will be minimal.

The employees are likely to suffer from reduced pensions + loss of any share save schemes.

The construction projects are likely to be more significantly impacted, should the construction divisions fail to find buyers the the projects concerned will be blighted by having to change main contractor.

The argument about needing investment from users has worn thin over the years

However…. the new GWR rolling stock is better in many ways and the on train staff must have had some customer care training…… hopefully the network improments + new rolling stock will improve reliability

European networks are probably not the best comparison as their capitals are tiddlers compared to London

We went with the unvented option, we previously had a shower pump for one bathroom. It was great to get similar performance in all the bathrooms + remove the hassle (had occasional pump failures over the years). + the pump noise

Whilst Harkal was hideous I was expecting it to be grim…

A far worse experience is whan something that should be at least fine turns out to be vile… for example the Lasagne that I was served in New York that was constructed using about a kilo of Philadelphia cheese or the rogan in Barmouth that was some unidentifiable meat product and gravy …. getting something made by findus from a corner shop would have guaranteed a better dining experience

It had a client that had gas lights on on the gate columns and then lights along both sides of the drive that lit sequentially from the gatehouse to the main house…. At the same time the fountains started up.

    The whole place was nauseating

The scenarios where old folks end up with huge stockpiles of prescription drugs is probably far more common than people realise and a significant source of them on the streets.

An elderly relative ended up with a bin bag full of pain kit and anti depressants… what happened is their memory gradually deteriorated and they were forgetting to take their meds… so they would go to the doctors complaining that their pain etc was getting worse and then get prescribed ever stronger meds…

In their case we’ve got them care specifically to come on and remind them to take the now more moderate prescriptions.
