LOL, I’ve not had such a good laugh in a long time as when I saw your response….

What next are you going to double dare me… your outrage at being proved a fraud was predictable. As normal your response is indignation at being shown to be ill informed

The main problem is that you’re an ideological oozlum bird

Sorry if calling out your lack of knowledge and pointing out your experience is both miniscule and irrelevant upsets you. You have a long of history at being proven wrong on this forum and of serial regurgitation of headlines without substance.

As normal your response is to hurl ideological insults which are as inaccurate and poorly informed as the rest of your twaddle.

So working in one NHS hospital qualifies you to comment about PFI and the built environment …… PFI is not just healthcare….. The range of projects are very diverse…. I know you like to focus on your own little world but even within that your knowledge and experience is infinitesimally small.

    BTW

You have one minor good point and that’s about the ownership of the Edinburgh Royal Infirmary … the ownership end state Edinburgh Royal Infirmary is an indictment on NHS Scotland… they ran the procurement process decided the contract form…. If you want to put anyone in the dock for that then its poor performing NHS staff which is the root cause…

Suffice to say your link was to an article with a narrow focus which did not compare like for like services, scope, risk etc. I could provide you with endless links from well-respected organisations but… it’s pointless as ever you are slavishly blinded by ideology.

I could embark on an extensive explanation however I don’t think it’s possible to dumb it down enough for you….

I can’t be bothered to respond further to your twaddle so I’ll leave the stage to you so that you can respond with more ideological bile and frantic googling.

Grumpysculler – is that’s true then there are a couple of important points

failure by the operator would cost them dearly the penalties would be punitive

the theatre would be declared unavailable and the payment deductions would be huge! + unavailability would be weighted to include the associated areas + ratchet up depending on the unavailability period

there would be deductions for reporting and planning failures

failure by the NHS to administer the contract

Pigeons could be from lots of sources including mall use of the facilities by the NHS staff…

Whilst you clearly care deeply about the NHS as do most people, I would respectively point out that your view is based upon a remarkably small sample and from a narrow perspective

The stats that you have regurgitated are the same nonsense stats that have been endlessly repeated unquestioningly that for large sections of society they have become the orthodox view.

They are based on articles written by politically motivated individuals, which choose to ignore issue like the end state of the buildings or compare services on a like for like basis. They are at best disingenuous but most likely poorly written and researched.

Regarding NHS buildings I would suggest that you research the topic thoroughly, those that have been developed by and operated by the NHS are and always have been beset by huge backlog maintenance issues.

Whilst you clearly care deeply about the NHS as do most people, I would respectively point out that your operational view is based upon a remarkably small sample and from a narrow perspective

PFI removes the procurement shambles of NHS building projects + they get maintained and will be in very good condition at the end of the concession compared to most NHS estates which are backlog maintenance disasters

The Carillion farce is an indictment on greed and poor management, actually PFI has protected the taxpayer from a he effects as the costs will fall to the co-parties.

the greed and complicity of the directors is shameful they have stolen from their employees, shareholders, suppliers and from anyone working in the sectors that they operated in.

they have driven down employment terms and conditions across the sectors they operated in, which will not recover even if the gluttons get banned from holding directorships.

Amongst other measures it’s time government funded projects or services are restricted to companies that do not run pension deficits at the expense of employees, the public or falsely promise dividends to justify paying themselves high salaries or bonuses!

I saw the results of where a guy cut through a price of scaffold tube used as a locking bar with  Petrol disc cutter.

the tube was no defence but the guys in the work shop had put some rebar through the middle and filled it full of roofing pitch.

the police found a very scorched saw and burnt pitch marks everywhere…. no sign of the suspect at the local hospital either

not a practical option for a bike lock…. but might be of use to go through a row of frames

Up’s citigo & mii either come with or are very easily retrofitted with a satnav pid unit (maps and more) that has Bluetooth, microsd etc and integrates with the canbus stuff so it provides loads of features normally only found on more expensive cars

Daughters nr2’s learner policy was £320 fully comp (no box)(rural backwater) in a Skoda Citigo.

Goodluck with finding one with the citybrake option…  they are quite rare….

Daughter nr 1 did 50k miles in her 1st seat mii and was totally reliable with no squeaks or rattles, (likes it so much she got a second one with the citybrake, I tested it with a tarpaulin hung across the drive and it was unnerving but worked perfectly) fully comp in that London Town is £700

i prefer the citigo to the Mii and the up as it seems to have a softer suspension setup (interior is a bit functional though)

Whilst it’s time that something should be done to ease the burden upon the young, handing out wads of dosh will not fix any problems just drive up property prices. Similar things happen when incentives to stamp duty etc are applied.

whilst the sentiment of many to removing the right to be a residential landlord is well intended it would cause chaos.

building large nrs of homes over a long period say two decades + slowly ramping up taxation upon landlords (other than social housing) would drive properties back on the market depressing the rampant property inflation

making those in social housing who are in the higher income bracket either pay market rates or invest the gap amount until they have a suitable deposit (if unused at retirement it would have to go in to a pension)

For the 3rd row seats to be useful you’d need To go up to a Sharan/galaxy class of car. The Multimac + a good larger Petrol estate sounds like the best combination + I bet the residuals on the Multimac are stronger than most cars…..

There is a trend for the production of batteries to shift back to NA and Europe when more stringent environmental standards are actually applied.

in development at the moment is the Northvolt project, which should see one of the largest battery maufacturing facilities in the world built in the Nordic region.

regarding the comments about recycling, given the increasing volume of packs/ cells that will enter the market the supply chain will develop. Getting a small nr it’s difficult to get high quality supply chain interested but once you have volume then the market will respond.

I would suggest leaving well alone… however you could dampen down the ground gradually as burrowing bees need relatively dry ground.

try a sprinkler set low for a few days to encourage them to relocate.

karma wise you’ll need to find some other way to balance things out…… how about some swallow nesting boxes as they are partial to bees

AEB imo is an excellent system with great potential to improve safety but it doesn’t absolve drivers from their responsibilities.

Unfortunately most people would rather have a fancier set of alloys on a new car than spec these systems, I attempted to find a used Vw Up,mii, citigo for my daughter and it seemed that almost no one was prepared to pay£250 when new…

whilst the additional driving aids have great potential to improve safety the weakest link is drivers, it’s time drivers had regular training. Health and safety  performance in the workplace has improved with the addition of improved/ safer equipment and processes but progress then tends to plateau further progress only tends to develop with behavioural change.

Maybe part of the stats for the XC90 are due to behavioural traits of the drivers?

Try running them with all the pressures lower than the manual says. Are they all air? As you might be able to reduce the travel by using the negative air spring

Give 14days unotice to the property above that.

they can by arrangement they can remove their unauthorised connections and make good the damage from the forced entry

    or

you will report the break in, seek quotes to get the work done. Then undertake the works blocking off the services make good and recover the costs by taking action against then.

i assume your insured? Is so I’d discuss this with them before proceeding

To make Old Marz air forks work well, drop all the pressures for pos and neg air springs. The manuals alway gave  v high pressures for all the cambers.

I run a set of AMSL1’s at at about 23psi with the Par spring set at 9psi. Which give me about 30% sag and lots of small bump sensitivity.
