Correct, you need to go about 1.5cm or so, just to get past the bottom lip of the seal, and don’t put any force through the fork, just let it sit. Obviously, make sure the area is clean to avoid pushing any dirt in!

It’s more common to have to do the same thing to release positive pressure if you don’t drop the lowers very often, although it doesn’t seem to be so much of an issue with the newer seals.

Check you’ve not created a big negative spring in the lowers when you’ve popped them back on after the shaft change, it’s easily done if you compress the air / damper rods fully before you put lowers back on.

You can equalise them by sneaking the end of a zip tie through the seal on each leg… it will be obvious if that’s the problem, you’ll hear a hissing sound.

Personally I find a subscription to something like pluralsight.com to be much more useful than the courses I have attended. They have Microsoft MVP guys doing a fair chunk of the material and you’ll find plenty of C#.net and SQL Server content.

The newer 2.3 (not 2.35) 3C minions is the best tyre I’ve used in a while.

Google says you can use an iPhone for internet tethering, don’t have one myself but it will be in the settings somewhere.

Does iPhone have a modem function? You might be able to plug it into your laptop and use it for the net instead of a dongle.

You should be able to get away with just removing the granny, if you want to remove the bash too you may need shorter bolts.

I’ll try :p, just thought it might not wear/roll quite right when the chevrons are wonky + mild OCD!

Cheers guys, not so bothered about it being fast, just rideable! A few times it has just been complete sheet ice and a wasted journey, anyway it’s supposed to snow more tomorrow so that might decide it.

On Saturday it was lethal, sheet ice all round the black route / transmission, would have gone back if we hadn’t driven for an hour+ to get there. Managed to get round unscathed but very carefully with a lot of unplanned speedway manoeuvres along the way.

Temps look better this week 8-9c so hopefully within a few days it might melt?

Oh and the main carpark was closed off, I guess due to the ice…

If you do go, please report back, got another trip planned for wed!

    Cheers
