I don’t think possibly having the floor joints in the dining room rotting as no moisture can escape is really a “safe whatever” option?

I do it myself if no one else is playing out, used to give me the spooks but i now i really enjoy it. Spent a time last thursday creeping through the tress trying to spot an owl i’d heard.

Loved my Stiffee which was also stolen but i wanted something that would take a longer fork so i went for a BFe which is great.

I love the idea of it, it would look good inbetween my BFe and my new road bike but i don’t know when i’d ride it

As with anything i ‘purchase’ i’d be looking for value for money, there’s poor private schools as well as poor state schools so do your research and choose wisely.

As a teacher in a challenging inner city school i’m confident that whatever the school, an intelligent child will do well though perhaps would not be stretched as much as in an outstanding school.

Have you thought about moving, that’s what we did.

don’t mind the rain, once your out you don’t seem to notice it much but wind can really sap your enthusiasm.

For me though, really hot is the worst.

i did wear one on my mtb commute though i did feel a bit of a ar5e. I’ve gone over to the dark side this year though but i don’t think i can do it on the road bike, vanity over safety, sad but true!

thanks geoffj i’ll look into the bamboo a bit more

Mr Nutt, stone would be ok for the kitchen but i think having it right through the dining room too would be a bit much and i can’t see rubber working either.

reuben, no it looked pretty good to me

Actually there was some lovely bamboo there for £18 a meter but the chap said it was softer than oak and would mark/dent easier, what do you reckon?

I am getting into it more and i've signed up for a 100km 'race' in October which is great as i have a focus for training so i like the idea of being persuaded to pedal faster, i need all the help i can get!

    thanks all,

i thought it might be the material as non of my other clothes smell though i suppose i don't really sweat in them, so it must be me. I'll try an anti bac as i don't think you can boil wash them though i'll check

no pets, my nan doesn't ride (leave it!) i don't eat much fatty food and i've no intention of cutting down on beer.

    thanks all,

the concrete floor is in a 15 year old extension and i can see that visqueen has been put underneath it.

I can't grind the high bit as that side is level with the floorboards in the original part of the house.

I was going to use a standard or maybe silver rolled underlay under the whole floor and a good quality engineered oak flooring.

    Nice tip with the tiles.
