Well i did it, managed to get out 5 or 6 times before and finished in 1:51.47 so i’m very pleased with that, a bit stiff today though.

    London Marathon next year!

by pressing the lever a few times you’ve pumped the pistons out which have pushed the pads out, all you need to do is, if there is a gap still get something flat inbetween them like a small hex key and evenly push the pads and pistons back in. If there is no gap you’ll have to remove the pads and push the pistons back. With them back in the normal position re fit you’re wheel and all should be ok but if not you may have to adjust the calpier mounts

i run Lyrics on mine with a Hope headset which does have a slightly bigger bottom cup, the controls on the Lyrics are quite bulky.

they are too long if you take cannondale’s advice (unless you have an MX) but i don’t think they are too slack at least not for the riding i do and yes you can always wind them down for the climbs.

Don’t worry, this happened to me with my Cove Stiffee (for the record i didn’t cross thread it they ‘pulled’ out, i guess due to prolonged hard riding) Anyway sent it off to BETD who drilled out the damaged side, fitted a sleave then re cut the threads, £45 incl return postage.

Oh and BTW don’t be tempted to buy a threadless BB, they’re bobbins.

I got a Tag Heuer watch for my 21st which was 17 yrs ago, it’s been faultless and i wear it for everything incl biking, it cost £200 new and they still fetch close to that second hand now.

One that going to last will usually give the best value for money imho.

I won’t be doing anything malicious, i’ve read up on it now so i’ll be playing the long game strictly by the book.

As mentioned i’ve spoken to them several times but they never do anything (and she’s not that frail yet)

Anyway i went round before and spoke to the grandson again, in particular about the silver birch in the back that shades out our veg patch. He said he’s off work next week and will sort it, i’m not holding out much hope as i’ve heard this all before but i’ll give him the benefit of the doubt. I’ve started my diary though and logged the conversation.

    Fingers crossed!

I’ve had one for a couple of years but recently the clamp has broken which i’m a bit dissapointed with and will be taking it back, still good value though.

you’ll need a top pull and either swing though i’ve got a top swing at the mo which is fine, can’t remember the diameter but they all come with spacers.

Stayed at Buttermere weekend before last, really nice, great pub with good food and a perfect base for riding, we did Red Pike then the Four Passes.

did the route that simon suggested a while back but dollywaggon has been paved now so i wouldn’t bother. Last week we came down sticks pass (also as simon montioned) which was superb then back over grisedale but i have to say i wouldn’t have fancied doing it on your bike!

you can make out climbers bike underneath hi-viz but they seem to be in opposite directions as oppose to a ‘normal’ side on shunt. Maybe hi-viz didn’t like being overtaken so just lay down on the other guy?

yeh i’d noticed that, it’s difficult to make out his bike maybe he’s just jumped down from climbing a building!

i went out last night which was fine but worse was after i went on mapmyrun, turns out i only did 3 miles in 30mins, i thought it must of been about 5! Anyway i’ll keep going and reassess after a fortnight, closing date for entries is the 14th so i’ll hopefully have a good idea if i can do it safely by then, riding tonight though, still got my priorites right!

Just listening in as i’ve ordered a stinger but am now worried it won’t fit.
The reason i got one was because i run a 2.5 tyre on the back and the mech can catch on the tyre when in the granny so i thought the stinger would tighten things up a bit as well as reduce the rattle.

Hi Rob, I’ve used them on mine but the sidewalls were too thin and after a few burps and pinches i gave up. I was speaking to Jon of Justridingalong whilst out on saturday and he said Maxxis have now thickened the sidewall to something in between a single and a double ply high roller so they may be perfect!
