I must be unlucky as my altura ‘waterproof’ shorts are rubbish and not waterproof at all, i won’t be buying another pair.

    Buy cheap, buy twice?

you can see the drop on Matti L’s helmet cam and i don’t think it looks that bad at all, esp for someone like Hill whose probably practiced it 10 times over the w/e

I would have nailed it anyway 😆

I’m 12st and i have 170psi in my Pushed RP3 and like to run it on the softer side. I do bottom it out sometimes but only on fairly decent jumps and drops, never on ‘normal’ trail riding. I can’t see that bottoming it out all the time will do it any favours.

I’m guessing there’s something up with it or at least needs a good service?

If you’ve tried all of the above, there’s only the garage left i’m afraid. Some people stick an inner tube in an inflate, carefully remove the tube from one side leaving the other seated so you’re half way there but that didn’t work for me either.

I can get my non ust highrollers up on my crossmax xl but i need a compressor and they are also prone to burping if i drop the psi a bit. To be safe i run rim strips from the fabulous JRA linked above.

right i’ve been on autotrader and ebay and theres a few local so i’ll check them out tomorrow.

I’ve just come back from the shops and the brakes went on my V40, got home to find brake fluid all over the rear wheel, took the wheel off and the pipe had corroded through so i’ll have to fix that tomorrow morning before i try and trade it in! it’s been a great car in general but it’s time for a new one.

thanks for the info Paul, i’ll look into those,

the main plus point that’s swayed me is the fuel ecomomy, it seems to be nearly double other 2 litre estates.

i can’t believe everyone has totally dismissed my suggestion and gone for stratobikers idea (no offence) It’s the same principle but instead of ugly cable and tape i use some very discreet fishing line.

    😉

you need a “Matt wire” invented by said friend of mine, get a length of strong fishing line, tie the top to the seat or top of post, work out the right length and tie of to the clamp bolt. Perfect height every time esp good for resetting on the fly.

sorry but that stem looks really naff, what are you going to do, get to the top of a climb and adjust it round to go down, then adjust it again to go back up??

Rest looks good though, like the grey lyircs, better than my black ones.

I know what you mean, i’m going to do the Great Yorkshire Run in September and i’ll keep an eye out for any other local ones.

I’ve just onto the London Marathon site but it’s bogged down, i didn’t realise it was a ballot.

As for triathlons, i had thought about those but i think it would start to get very competitive and i’d need to train alot more which for me would take the ‘fun’ element out of it?

Well done, yeh i was suprised how many people were along the whole route but esp Ecce Rd. My wife and kids had made a big banner for me which spurred me on.

well done, you beat your target,

I think it’s a pretty straight forward jump from 10k to 10 miles, what’s in a letter! then if you can do 10 miles you can do 13 (speaking from my extensive knowledge and experience of running!)

willyboy, how weird is that, no i didn’t stalk you though i would have said hello if i’d realised. It was strange running it as i didn’t really enjoy it as such but was glad with how i did.

Jamie, give it a go, i’ve been swept along with the whole marathon thing so i suppose London is the next step, plus i’m 39 next year so it’s one of those things to do before you’re 40. I don’t want it to affect my biking though.
