If you did it on a proper bike it would probably only be 2 mins of footage

    😆 only joking

I don't mind the drop off, it's that bit that gets me esp the sheer drop to the river below on the riders right that the pic doesn't show that seems to draw me to it like a siren.

and as you may guess, all those roots are extra sketchy in the wet

great pic, that's the toughest bit, "my brakes are full on and i'm still not slowing down!"

FYI, you may find that play in the cassette is wear to the bushing but also quite often the hub itself wears, search US ebay for oversize bushing that compensate for this wear, i got a couple and they're perfect.

    Oh and yes, never grease.

I had the same problema few years back, went to the doctor had a course of physio but nothing helped.

I thought it was to do with my shoe alignment but after several tweeks that didn't help either then i tried lowering my seat a bit and i never got it again. It was just that my seat was just a bit too high and i was overstretching my knee, silly but true!

I saw the guy too, passed at about 1pm and he was in good spirits all things considered and was actually starting to walk towards fairholmes to meet the rangers coming up.

Not sure what his bike was, him and his mate were on HT's one white and one red, possibly commencal's?

I've got a 3 season ME one which is great but the problem with ME synthetic is they do get a bit bulky as you get up to a proper 4 season bag.

If it was my money i'd go with snugpak

thanks flow, i hadn't looked at those, i'll read your review but i'll need convincing why to spend twice the price of a 456 on one of those?

LT is 140mm plus, i've got pikes to go on but i've also got lyrics on another bike which may find their way onto the new frame.

As for good value, i think up to £350 is plenty to spend on/charge for a HT so that definately rules out the Evil Sov which i think you must be bonkers to pay full price for and puts the Bfe on the outskirts (sorry Cy)

I hadn't seen the Trans Am but they look very nice indeed, just need to find the price.

on the front i wouldn't be worried about one drop of fluid, especially if it works fine now, but if more leaks out you'll need to replace the seals.

As for the rear, you're looking at a rebleed, get yourself down to halfords or your lbs if it's open today and get some fluid.

Also, i wouldn't lube the pistons with teflon, don't know that it would do any harm but i use brake fluid so no probs with potential contamination or seal damage

Thanks guys, my school isn't in the LEA as we're an academy but i'll certainly check out if they have any preferences.

The CTC course looks the most promising as it's very local to me so i'll get onto them.

Thanks guys there's alot to look at there, where i'm coming from is i'm a secondary school teacher and have for the last year run a bmx club at the local skate park after school on fridays, this has been pretty successful and the school have asked me if i can 'expand' things, so i'm looking at mtb which is my first discipline. There's also some money that's turned up for equipment but some has to be spent on training so that's where my enquiry started.

Basically i'm looking for a qualification that will enable me to take small groups of kids into the outdoors to ride bikes and hopefully get them into it, oh and to be a rewarding course for me too.

i’ve done ALOT of research on this and bought a new bag last week and tested it at the weekend. I’d decided to get a snugpak softie as they have good pack size and price and different models for all temp ranges than i was in my local outdoor shop and saw these mountain equipment starlight ones reduced to £63. The chap in store was very knowledgeable and really rated them. It’s a great bag which i’ll be using for uk bivvying and camping as well as a trip to the arctic in 3 weeks when i’ll use it with a liner.

It’s just from the bottom of the BB shell to the floor. You’d be suprised how little makes a difference, on my Prophet i hit things in the FR mode which is 33cm but i’m fine in the XC mode at 34.9cm.

I don’t know what you’re at at the mo but longer forks, shorter cranks, slimmer pedals and also fatter tyres may make the difference. However if you’re hitting things on fire roads you nay well be shafted?
