I’ve been with Ciclo 4 times. Would go back in a moment. I love the area, love the riding, love the food, love the craic with Marco and Jacky … it’s just great. I would give it the highest recommendation.

In April, me and 4 mates are doing the Ciclo Moroccan trip … can’t wait 🙂

Mine’s the full retail pack with bleed kit. 2012 model – 30.9, 420 length, right hand lever, 100mm travel.

Seems the seatpost diameter is 31.6mm not 30.9mm according to one of the first owners, is this correct Brant?

    I hope not … I have a brand new 30.9 Reverb sitting here and I ain’t using a shim.

I had waited weeks for a Kind Shock Supernatural 272 from Action Sports, but they never got their delivery in time for a Spain trip this weekend. Went for a s/h Hilo off here and got it yesterday … seems very nice.

I briefly had a GD and never got on with it. I’m not an all or nothing kinda guy so wanted infinite adjustment. Yes I know you get multi droppers, but that’s still quite restrictive.

To me it comes down to are you an all or nothing kinda guy or an infinite adjustment kinda guy? Buy the one for the job dependng on your answer.

Brant … sounds good. Can you keep me in mind when you get something sorted please?

    Enjoy your trip.

Would think around 750g for single ply, but not entirely sure.

You don’t need to add the weight of the mud to these tho cos they shed so well 🙂

Winter for me = 2.35 Swampys – 60a rear and Supertacky front set up tubeless with latex. Nothing comes close IMHO.

Did the Achnashellach – Coulags – Annat – Coulin Pass return last weekend. Planned to go into Coire Lair on the return, but ran out of time due to one member of the group getting multiple punctures. The Club sandwich is nice in the Torridon Inn 🙂

Tollie Path is a wonderful shorter circuit. This gives an outline. Bar lunch at the Old Bridge Inn or huge scones at the Mountain Cafe. Think I may do it tomorrow.

Picked up a freshly flattened adder off the road at Strath Ruisdale today. Did think of bringing it home for the missus.

I'm using a 140mm 2009 Rev Maxle on my mk1 520 PA without any issue. Climbs and descends better than I do.

very fast descent to the Moulin

I lost something there a long, long time ago. Something I'll never get back.

I'm using a 2.3 Michelin Dry X (£9.99 from On-one) on the front of my HT with a 2.0 Larsen UST on the back with good results. Really swift (compared to the ST Swampys that came off!) and worked through some real rough stuff on the Lochan Fada circuit last weekend without issue.

While the Michey isn't UST, it inflated with a track pump with latex but no tube no bother and hasn't lost any significant pressure or burped since I fitted it.

2.35 Minion and 2.1 Crossmark on the FS for big mountain days! CBM on Sunday will be a good test.

I have one somewhere. Easy enough to explain meantime. Start at the old riuned kirk on the shore at Kitearn (down from Evanton) – dip the toe. Up through Novar and on Landy tracks around the west of the Fyrish ridge then northeast between the Windfarm and Fyrish. If it's been dry then go around Lochmorie from the Boath Road, if not go thro the fields (on a track) through Ardross Castle grounds and straight up Strath Ruisdale and over to Glen Calvie then on to Croick and what you are doing. It's something like 63 miles. Needs short term planning to avoid facing a headwind.

We'll be the only riders at Slattadale, so just ask. It's a very short morning and an exciting afternoon. Short day.

Stuartie … me and the boys do a C2C from my house (in Evanton) to Ullapool with your route (or 1/2) as the second half of the route. It's a bit early for us tho … you will get your feet wet on the river crossing, but most of the height on my route is before Croick, so you should be safely under the snow level.

The FBI is our traditional finish point (pint). We usually sit on the wall for a good few then get sorted. Last year we camped and it was good, but previously we staying in the CP bunkhouse which is fine. Best food we've had was in the Frigate (I think). The CP is good too, but is a bit overpriced. Fish and chips form the chippie at the Seaforth.

Latest opening pub was the Arch, which is on the corner near the campsite at the bottom of the road at the side of the CP bunkhouse. Bit of a doo going on when we were there and they had Leffe!

Sunday is looking glorious and a few of us doing the Tollie Path with lunch at the Mountain Cafe in Gairloch. Slattadale at 11ish if ye fancy it 🙂

All the best for your trip.

Wee work of caution about the new Revs. Was at Learnie the other weekend and a pal fell sideways with his bike when he stalled at a rock feature. A sharp rock dented the lowers so much the fork is effectively **** and new lowers are £225. Ross isn't a big heavy chap either. I guess they are light, but have they maybe gone too far? Fine if you don't crash or ride rocks I suppose.

6' here and a happy medium on most bikes but definitely large on my 5 Spot (and every Santa Cruz I've tried).

I recently got the Ti lust, first with an One-one 29er to replace my steel one. It was beautiful, but it had a chunk of Ti rattling loose inside a sealed seatstay, so it went back. They never had one to replace it with, so I then tried to satisfy the lust with a Morning Glory to replace my PA. Unfortunately I could only find a large and after a short while I found it too big and I'm back on my medium PA. If you fancy a large MG, give's a shout.

Does this change the axel to crown length?

Yes … to 498mm. Before fitting mine last week I reduced the travel down. 2 days later I put it back up to 140mm/518mm. Bike felt all wrong!!

Still at least I now know.

    Tiboy helped me out linky.

I've run mine with several heights and am convinced around a 520 a-c works best for me. That includes 130 Marzocchis, 140 RS and Fox and 145 Nixons.

MT91s here to replace my MT90s. Easily the best boots I've tried for riding in the hills in the HIghlands. The new Vibram sole seems tackier too.

I've got a posh mink one for dress and a leather one for casual. Saying that I'd probably go synthetic now.
