tomzo … thanks … may just order that one later today.

What do you mean no firewire? I fitted a firewire connection for the camcorder a couple for years back so I have that capability.

Many thanks all. I’ll follow the advice and use AVG or avast with Zonealarm. May also do what davidtaylforth suggests and back up and format the HD. Hell of a lot of unnneccesary sh!te onmy PC, like.

I’ll use the money I’ve saved to go buy an external HDD for the backups now. Any suggestions from the January sales?

    Here’s what I have.

My MP3 is plugged in via USB and the head unit scrolls all track details. You can search your library from the head etc.

I also use a CDRW with MP3 data for several albums with track details and my phone’s music library (8GB memory) is also accessed via Bluetooth.

I’ve never had a problem with standard Shimano ones TBH, but those King ones look like a good idea well executed.

druidh, I got a nice Sony unit fitted in my A2 the other week. It has USB, AUX in and bluetooth connectivity. Also connects with my phone when I go in the car and has a wee mic built in. It was £130 including free fitting at Halfords and I reckon it’s cheaper now. I connect a 20gb mp3 and a portable DAB to it for massive choice and flexibility. Must eBay that CD autochanger.

I’ve had one of these Nespresso ones for nearly a year and would recommend them. Great convenience with quality results. http://www.nespresso.com/precom/home_uk_en.html?&nedlogin=

I tend to use either an Endura Windtex top or a Rab Vapour-rise trail stretchtop if it’s colder or windier. The latter is the probably my favourite piece of clothing. If it’s raining proper I do carry a waterproof and I’m getting a belated Christmas present of an Endura Stealth jacket.

For me it was to access more distant hills, specifically the Cairngorms from the south. I’d turned my nose up at them to begin with, but saw the light in 95. Since moving to Highland in 2000 I’ve done little mountaineering, but visit the same places on my bike now. Garage full of climbing/ice climbing/telemark gear … oh and bikes!

A pal has a Mbuzi as his lightweight XC rig with a Fox Float 36RC2 up front!

I’ve had a teeny run on it and it felt sweet … really efficient to pedal, not too burly, but planted and not going to flex much. Felt similar but stiffer than an Orange single pivot bike and looks a bit nicer IMHO.

I’m also thinking of ditching Sky. They told me tonight I would lose the ability to record if I cancelled. I was on to cancel or get a free HD box off them … without success.

So are you a source at trade price for this HD PVR then Ton? What one is it?

Agreed … loads of tyre clearance and builds into a really efficient bike. I used a Revelation with mine. It’s been hanging up since October and a subsequent purchase means I’ll probably sell it. Contact me on swayndoAThotmailDOTcoDOTuk if you fancy a medium 05/06 with a PUSHed RP3 and Enduro bearings all round.

Currently on The Face of Death by Cody Mcfadyen. Really enjoyed Shadow Man, so decided to read on.

Bruneep, we have Strange Kind of Love and Dogs in the Traffic on this floor.

Can mix it up with some Hipsway if you want?

    Happy New Year!

Aye it was a coatimundi. If you have any other questions on Go Diego Go, Dora the Explorer, Peppa Pig or the Backyardigans I’m probably the current forum expert.

I’m also up on Finley the Fire Engine, but wouldn’t call myself an expert.

I was at Balblair, which is mostly on exposed rock and ‘shore. The rock and woodwork was very heavily frosted, but most of the time a bit of momentum got you through off-cambers and drops safely. Landed on me hip/arse once on sheet ice and had a spectacular endo when my front wheel wiped, but otherwise it was incident-free. First ride on a new build and loved it. Never got out of the mist and the temperature was never above zero.

Did you go for the normal or high volume version Simon? What bike is this for?

I decided I needed a little more travel as my FS.

Gears are now on it BTW. Test ride is tomorrow.

Long grass is protecting the root structure from the frost nicely, thanks.

More of a fallen tree, but it could easily be a retired telegraph post! A bit dark, sorry.

You’ll get by with a high pressure pump.

I’ve built up 2 Dialled Bikes’ bikes this year and think they are both wonderful. The Alpine sneaks it over the Mk1 PA as I’ve been places with it that I have never been confident taking a HT before. Strange thing is, I’ve just sacrificed its bits to build up a 5 Spot, but I’ve no intention of selling it.
