I've been mentioned in this as having Juicy 3s for sale at a higher price than Merlin – I appreciated the member who pointed it out. I put them on at a price that I thought was fair, if somebody disagrees then either have a word or let me know. I think its funny that some people are so anygry about it – not all of us have the google gift to find the best deal in the world 😀 and I usually get it right… Dont like? Don't buy!

with pinches (Hi Pinches!) – try Edinburgh Cycles. I work there part time (when my leg isn't broken) and if they ain't looking for staff now its still worth putting yourself up as students come and go a lot. If you have good bike knowledge across the board you're in with a good chance.

My motivation to go out alone relies upon setting a goal, like average speed. Saying that… after struggling to organise off-road group rides to new places I started going out alone in summer… and had a MAJOR accident in the 2nd last week. I'm lucky to be alive – I couldn't get mobile signal and had to ride with a badly broken leg for almost an hour before I found help. I won't be going out on my own again unless its a familiar trail…

I'll have give them a call tomorrow; looks like they have tried to cover a mark using permenant marker… the rear is perfect though!

I'm glad to hear they have a good reputation, I had a bit of trouble with them years ago and havn't used them until now!

    thanks

Make sure the seal around the pisyon is OK, fit and bleed – should work as before. Oh and make sure no crap gets inside!

Whether this guy is serious or not, the attitude of looking down and judging that shop assistant as stupid, or implying that a job in a shop is somehow a bad thing ('you can ONLY get a job in a shop') is aweful. I have spent 4 years working in a bar and a cycle shop being judged and talked to like dirt, usually coming from professionals, because they have this attitude.

Now I'm a professional, and the way these idiots refer to these apparantly lesser people really gets my back up. I wonder if they have ever had to work for minimum wage…

I'm a fan of the 2008/2009 Stumpjumper FSRs, I rode an '08 Expert everywhere in the alps and the UK – including the Pleny DH run, and it was awesome. Obviously bigger bikes do the bigger things a little easier, but they are stupid weight and their suspension feels perfect to me – possibly the best trial bike for the UK when value, backup (lifetime guarentee on frame, unlike Santa Cruz…) and performance are considered. Test ride one – their only negative is their abundance 🙂

As above – get a cheap Revolution Courier from Edinburgh Bikes 🙂

I think the current 5″ bikes are probably up your street – Trance, Stumpjumpers etc. My 4″ Stumpy has the same geometry as the current 5″ model and the 5″ is much lighter…
